I can confirm this happening ..i ave encountered it at really deep depths...and even see lightning although i am deep underground.

i also had a pack of 5 wolves... one even made it to the gates of my base and was waiting when i returned after a respawn ...luckily i had a spare spear just inside the doorway. There seems to be more wildlife now .. and some of the horses are two toned ...light brown with a dark brown mane and tail. Luckily i found an area with feathers..and a tower with a crossbow..
I also notice that hammers don't last as long as before ..and sometimes the iron hammer will no be recognized when crafting stone...you need a stone hammer as well.
Overall the game looks and feels better ... and i still getting the sharks sitting offshore watching me build
... but so far none flying or stuck in trees.

Hint Hint Hint....
any chance of more female avatar clothing?
I notice more animals .. the yland i am on now is littered with testaments .... and after surviving multiple brown bear attacks at my spawn point i discovered there's 6 of them hanging around that area!
Looking forward to the updates and new stuff.

When lighting a fire with the flint lighter, sometimes your avatar will kneel and face in the opposite direction to the fire etc you are trying to light. Also its hard to tell what you are hitting etc when using an axe, or hammer ... sometimes you have to face slightly to the left of the object.
When placing items into a container, if you release it before its fully in the compartment, ..ie touching the barrier... the container will freeze... and not be usable ...you have to remove what you can... then re log.
Sometimes the crafting does not recognize your have an iron hammer... you have to add a stone one into your inventory.

Thanks
I have now started a new game to take advantage of all the recent upgrades...i couldn't wait until the 29th
so hoping the new fixes do not introduce new things requiring a new game start.
The new game is interesting .. as soon as i appeared i was confronted by a brown bear ...and after a dramatic "bare" fisted "bear" fight, and down to 1 and a half health hearts, i punched the bear into some meat and components for crafting a new fur coat!
But what is interesting was over the hill i encountered a huge stone statue, that was posed like it was offering a gift.. and it was! --- I will not spoil the game by posting a screenshot or other details/spoilers other than say it was something for me and that it had eyes and looked "stoned" .. (Ane and Ales will get a smile from that pun! )

Ok- back to my Yland ... aptly named " Despotica" and looking forward to the fixes on the 29th ..i should be up to ship building by then, so hopefully those sharks will behave.

Aww ty for the thought... but as there's other benefits ie bigger ylands area etc , i am prepared to take the plunge again from the start on a new game... that way i can avoid the mistakes i made this one and also avoid the tombstones that i keep tripping over, reminding me of my past blunders

I am all for the adventure ... and i will make a better sharkproof ship! Tomorrow ( oops .. dec 6 ) i conquer Ylands ! ... next year ... the world!

Meanwhile i can spend the next week or so looking for things to help , working out what all those energy things do and those strange structures ... and reading up on my Dictatorship manuals !

As i am the sole despotic dictator and supreme ruler of Bongo-Bongo, I think its time to share with you all some pictures of my results of experimentation etc, which will be superseded after the arrival of Ylands on steam and its included update.
One picture is of the inside of my storage room, where over the crates are stone letters indicating whats in the crates ( Au =gold, Fe= iron.. steel, sulfur, saltpeter, coal & cy for clay etc)
There's another room not shown but has cabinets with tools, weapons etc again with stone letters to help identify whats in them. I also have outside some boxes for storage of stone, marble and plunder form other Ylands.
The other pictures are of my base with attached dockyard and moored exploration ship. I have reclaimed a lot of ground to make fruit/food supplies, and on other side theres flax and cotton plantations plus palm trees.
There's also a small courtyard with seagull statues ..and growing between them are purple orchids ( not yet in flower).
The top story has a 360 degree view with windows and lanterns, aiding in navigation , and on the roof i just fitted a wind turbine, - but not sure how to use it yet!
As you can see, I have had fun! Thinking positive, will do better after the steam release with all the new stuff.
No sharks were harmed in the taking of these screenshots!

This is the dock and moored explorer ship
below is one of the storage room

Thats a positive point!
Guess i will spend the time up to the update looking around and experimenting with building etc
Starting again on Dec 7 with more knowledge and as you say, more to look forward to
What i must do now is post a few screenshots of the current game buildings etc as a momento.

I am already on a tropical Yland...will the rubber trees "start to grow there" ... or on undiscovered ylands?
Will they appear on existing Ylands?

Looking forward to Monday
- The reasons why i post here is i am reporting "anomalies" that might need "fine tuning"
. This is a really enjoyable game, and with all changes and upgrades, there's always something that needs a tweak or two to make it work smoothly. What is pleasing is to know and see that when something is reported, its noted for action and a response appears. There are other games i used to play, but not any more because just basic things were ignored by those developers and the game became unplayable.
I am actually starting to like those sharks ... their menacing smile leads me to think of ways of painting mustaches on them
-
I encountered a similar Yland... with part of it missing, and parts f the oceans ":dried up" with floating sharks etc. I posted pics and the log file in the bugs etc thread.
-
The running into and "climbing" trees. ..it mainly happens if you are moving quickly and downhill... i ran down hill towards a clump of bamboo... next thing i was in the air and then fell to earth losing 2 health hearts ...
sometimes when trying to negotiate stairs sometimes you get blocked if facing straight ahead.. ( run on the spot ) .... you have to approach and negotiate them at an angle.
Still getting flying sharks
..... i found if you leave them alone they sometimes slip off the ship sides.... and if you leave your ship with sails down and anchor down ... after a while the shark "goes away" ...better than killing it and having your boat capsizing!

With the avatar movement changes...its rather difficult to "aim" with the tool you are using.... if you are not careful with your axe or hammer, the nearby walls or objects might get accidentally destroyed instead of what you are aiming at.
Also encountered a small temporary glitch when putting things in a cabinet... if you are not accurate and place the item near the border of the compartment, it can glitch ..and affects all other items you try to move in that cabinet. I found that by taking everything out, dropping them, then re logging from main menu fixed it .. i could then pick the items up and return them correctly to the cabinet.
Overall, the changes on this update are positive it might be my imagination but the colors of objects seem to be brighter.
every tome i log in i find more craft-able items in my inventory...

1 hour ago, BigBoss87 said:And we are not punching workstations anymore too

Yes! what a relief...my knuckles were getting sore
2 hours ago, Khanecz said:You need to fuel workstations with wood first in order to light it now.
Yes ...i knew that .. everything started to work properly after a log out and re log ...maybe there was something queued to update.
Now ...wondering how to craft a belt drive ...tried leather rope .. will work it out soon.
But pleased in my exploration today i found one yland with abundant saltpeter ..and the next had a mountain peak of sulphur! ... bought back 800 units ... ( and an shark
) and now have enough ingredients to destroy the world ... now wheres that chemistry station?? (evil snicker)
-
Thanks...
Tried to light the charcoal kiln ... the lighter wouldn't show any interaction. tried to feed it ... zero ..
Guess i have to play around trial and error style until i either find out how .. or simply abandon a great game and start again form zero .. which i am reluctant to do.
We need more instructions....

-
New update has changed the game entirely... i now have lots of redundant workstations ...cannot find new ones ,..and have difficulty interacting with others... ie cannot feed them or light them.
Is there anywhere where we can get information about the new crafting procedures? I know there's a new station feeding interaction thing , but where, how and ??? currently i cannot light any forge/foundry/etc .. do i have to destroy the old redundant stations first?
Are the old saved games not able to be ?modernized" with the new stuff?
Do we now have to dump a weeks work and exploration ..and start a new game?
I tried google search and the ylands wiki ... but turn up nothing helpful..
-
it appears some workstations are no longer being used ie stonemasons... will we get a list of redundant work stations we can remove?
Now a chemistry station required for making gunpowder? cannot find any reference to crafting it just yet... any hints ?

Here are things i encountered after the update.
1) running into some objects causes you to either "climb" the object or get tossed into the air. Walking up stairs becomes difficult. you tend to float and end up above the level you intend to be at I enclose some screenshots showing my avatar hovering at strange heights after "colliding" with an object.
2) movement has changed.. before pressing "s" key you would step back, now instead you turn around...also when digging, you tend to dig offset to your left side not in the direction you are facing.
3) Erratic ship behavior due to unintended interaction with sharks, birds etc. My ship stalled and would not turn ...in fact it started to turn opposite to what i was commanding .. investigation revealed several sharks "stuck" in the keel and were obviously affecting movement ...see screenshot. It also happened when a seagull got trapped inside the cabin area near the helm .. the ship was uncontrollable until it turned sufficiently for the seagull to escape
4) Collision of ship with seagulls and vultures ...a vulture flew into the cabin area of the ship and when it hit the side walls on the inside, the ship tilted nearly 45 degrees.... fortunately the vulture then managed to fly out and the ship righted itself. Another time a head on collision with a low flying vulture saw the ship stop and was turning uncontrollably until the vulture passed by to the stern and flew away
5) was too quick to catch a screenshot, but a shark dropped from the sky onto the deck between the middle mast and and the helm ... it bounced twice then slid over the side .. the ship went crazy while this happened.
first 4 screenshots show the avatar height issue. 5th one shows the sharks under hull causing loss of ship control
-
Also i note that the avatar hover height is higher on some surfaces ...my avatar floats up stairs and mostly ends up standing on the railings. Also seems to hover after moving off a path onto a path one block thickness lower down.
Will try to screen shot it after i can log in after the severe thunderstorms sweeping the area here pass by.
-
I can confirm this ... i have 'run up" the sides of clumps of bamboo... and also trees..... must be the monkey in me?

-
still finding land sharks and "gas filled" sharks floating in trees
-also a couple of times i ran into a tree and ran up the trunk ..only to fall when trying to get back to the ground ..and landed heavily and suffered health damage.
Also could not berth ship in my dock as there were 4 sharks stuck in the keel! ..and they were fouling the land and the sides of my dock under my ship. However, leaving sails down and no ship movement for 5 minutes the sharks eventually "dropped off".
New updates mean more animals and challenges!

I have been on my new explore Yland for 4 days now and have yet to do a circuit of it! This is because of the challenge of more animals ..packs of bears wolves and pumas!
I have loaded my respawn area with containers of spears etc .. and i am sure glad i did! After i finish eating my lunch i have to go back in and got to were i was last " ruthlessly slain by a brown bear" ....actually i ran into 3 of them and a pack of wolves .. at least 2 wolves ..so going to have a real battle recovering my things. I was in the process of dispatching a bear when i noticed another bear..."bear hugging" a tree ...it was halfway up the trunk, but unfortunately a screenshot was not possible as 4 wolves jumped out of nowhere at me ..i got two with the crossbow in 3 shots and as i was replacing my crossbow with a spear for close up fighting... the bears hit me from behind.
Yes .. the game is really challenging!
