  1. the large ship still cant have things placed on it. it doesnt move around as much with the latest update when you try build on it, but it always claims location too far
  2. Hello, so after the game updated, I decide to try MP server, everything was fine at the beginning (I'm playing on Official Server Explore PA 17). And just about 10 mins ago, I decide to explore a bit futher to polar biome. Planning to go to the cave, I put unnecessary stuff on my ship. I tried to put down the herbs bag, it placed just fine. Then when I put my seed box on my ship with V, it instantly gone poof. At that moment is at night, and my character feels freezing, so I decide to make fireplace on top of my ship under platfrom. Then same thing happen like seed box, the fireplaces I made is instantly gone poof. So I'm quickly decide to relog, everything works fine until loading. Now I'm stuck at Raising Ocean 0.0%. His character didn't die or anything but he was forced to create a new character and was spawned on some distant island we had not discovered yet and when I list account privelages(/lap) it lists me and two other people both by the same name but with different ids. Is there anything we can do to make it so he has his old character file, id or to get him back home or at the very least make sure this doesn't happen again?

    Can't login at workshop

    Hey I just encountered a bug that never happen to me before, I'm trying to go to workshop and auto login prompt pops out, then I tried to login. But it says like the picture, I tried clicking the G+ but the result is still same. I don't know why. Ignore that bad sensor, I need to hide my email address.. Are you still working on the website or it's bug, devs? Thanks
  5. Two Sandstone Medium Ramp blocks require the iron chisel as a material rather than a tool. The entire iron chisel is used to create a single Medium Sandstone ramp Block. There are two recipes this occurs for as far as I can tell, The plain Sandstone ramp and the convex corner ramp block. Both are medium recipes.
  6. When using the paint gun, I can choose one of the color squares in the simple pallet to select. When I select the white box it puts the 255,255,255 in. However it will not paint unless I reduce at least one of the three to 254, For me I will never know the difference in white by 1. Really enjoying the game.
  7. We are just building a map full of explorable locations and discovered that you can not erase the ship parts for the front and back of a big ship if you drop them on the ground. We tryed in editor and in the normal explore mode by annihilator and hammer, nothing worked to get rid of them. I also tryed different ways in the editor of erasing by right clicking the object and go on delete and by pressing the remove key on the keyboard, they got invisible if we went out of render distance but were back when we logged back in. Ship Hullaft, Ship Hull Fore can not be deleted if you drop them on the ground!

    mám problém se stavbou, některé bloky jako dřevěná kostka nebo panel po odchodu do vzdálenosti asi 10 metrů zmizí. ukazují se jen některé bloky, které pak levitují ve vzduchu. naopak u stromů se stane jejich zbytky po pokácení zmizí, když jsem v jeho blízkosti. Když se pak poodstoupím tak se objeví ... hostuji server pro kamaráda, který má podobné problémy. Myslím, že když jsme začali hrát, tak jsme neměli problém, dokud jsme nepostavili loď, ale nejsem si jistý jistý. Poraďte mi prosím co s tím, už si nevím rady I have a problem with building, some blocks like a wooden cube or a panel after leaving to a distance of about 10 meters disappears. only some blocks are shown, which then levitate in the air. on the contrary, the trees become their remains after the felling disappears when I am near. When I go back then I will show up ... I host a server for a friend who has similar problems.     Ship of Doom!

    I do not know what we have done, but the game has broken for me, not for other players though. I've built a ship and made cannons on it, while using a cannon, I suddenly got stuck in the ships hull. I tried /unstuck 0 and that made things worse. I cannot move, even after a relog, I am in the same position. I think we found a pretty critical bug. I am not sure if that's something you're interested in seeing logs from, or even joining the server and try and use the ship yourself. I just crashed the game for another player as well. Seems like I've made the ship of doom! If someone wants to see the bug in real life, I'll gladly give you our server name and password. After getting stuck, we managed to get free with /unstuck 0, but could not move from there until getting killed. Going over to the boat, will get you stuck again, just by being near it. For some odd reason, the VOD is not visible on the streaming page, I've asked support about it, cause everything was recorded. When I have the VOD, I'll post a link here. output_log.txt error.log

    Ylands crashes Steam client

    Have had Ylands crash my Steam client several times now. Symptoms are both Ylands and Steam becoming un-responsive and the Steam window gets an odd grey border, almost like old style Windows window borders. Is there any logging that I should be providing the next time this happens?
  11. I decided to build a ship together with a friend. we built it. But then when we decided to build a second mast, a bug occurred. Now when I try to build any element, writes:: "location is too far" or "there is not enough space". Even in the process of building the ship throws in different directions.   12. On dismantling this alchemist pants, it gives acai berries instead of rags. The shoes gave rags, but im not sure of the other sets. This was found in the map, not crafted.

  14. I'm trying to open ylands through steam but it's only opening the game window - never loading anything. I tried opening it a few times, restarting my machine between tries, and also left it for a while in case it was just loading, but I'm getting the same each time. I've not played it since before Christmas, and today got windows updates and the ylands updates. Anything anybody can suggest would be great - cheers output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt
  15. My sister is hosting the server, I am the client. We have both had issues getting stuck inside the ship when we somehow walk into it the wrong way. She was able to quit out and move the ship in the editor for her own character and once the ship was moved she was unstuck. My character got stuck in the ship and she can't find my body in the editor, so not sure if moving the ship this time will help or not. Being stuck in the ship appears to prevent my game from loading as well, unless that's something else that is totally unrelated. Update: After she tried moving the ship in the editor (though she still can't find my body), I was able to load in, but it demanded that I make a new character - and when I did so it did the "frozen at the character creation black screen" thing. So...not sure how to get into game now... ::sigh:: ...After, like, 30 hours of game play. I think there needs to be an "unstuck" command or something that we can somehow issue to the game to get ourselves out of these terrain glitches and such. Probably not an easy thing, by any means, to implement - but if it's doable, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by the community. Another ship-related issue I keep having, as the client, is that every time I walk away from our ship to explore something and come back, it is just a dark black, seemingly un-rendered hull with no sails or ladders or any chests or anything built on it any more. The host, my sister, says it still renders for her and works okay, but it is just an empty black hull for me almost every time I walk away from it and return - so i can't access anything on the ship or even get on the ship itself, I just get stuck in it. ::shrug:: Not sure why that is.   16. Build: 0.6.2.42636 Hosting Multiplayer: Not dedicated What Happened I was playing multiplayer (not using DS) with a friend and had just started using the Seed Packet Box. I placed 3 groups of 60 cotton seeds into the seed packet box and kept them in separate stacks, ready to plant 3 plots of 60 cotton. I dragged one of the three groups of cotton seeds onto my avatar from within my inventory to equip it, and used hotkey 0 to start planting. I found that the number of seeds in that hotbar slot did not decrement as I planted them. I assumed they were being fed in from the other groups of seeds in the seed packet box, but after planting all three plots with 60 seeds each, all 180 that I had, I still had two full stacks remaining in the seed packet box, and could still plant more. What I expected Planting seeds from the seed packet box should decrement the correct seed stack until it is gone, after which you can no longer plant until another is equipped. Steps to Reproduce Open the editor Place down a Seed Packet Box and 2 cotton seeds Test the scenario Pick up the seed packet box and cotton seeds Drop the cotton seeds into the seed packet box Enter the seed packet box and separate the seeds into two stacks Drag and drop one of the seeds onto the avatar to equip it Exit the inventory Switch to cotton seed on your hotbar Plant an unlimited number of seeds
  17. Hi y'all! First bug report so let me know if im missing anything. Earlier I came across a bug, when a seed container is in your inventory, and tall palm trees are in it, if it is equipped it plants with an amount more than you actually have. I.e. I had 3, and noticed it would let me place more. I'll try to recreate it/post an image next time im on. This was in a private mp.

So after my partner couldn't connect to my game and got stuck in Recalling Buildings 100.0% we decided to mess around with the editor and we found out that if you cramp up the place with a lot of objects for example put too many chairs around a table and try to stand up from the chair the character gets stuck between the chairs and can't move !!!! this is a real nuisance as it drives out the immersion i'm getting from survival games !!! and please add random sites and caves in generation in editor and an island with all biomes plssssssssssssssss this game is too good to have those bugs and glitches do your best team !!!!
  19. First I'm sorry for the tittle, I just don't know what a correct tittle for this bug, I searched this kind of problem but can't find anyone post it, please tell me if I'm wrong. So the problem is the saloon door feels like invisible once you place it, you can see texture and mesh of Saloon door placed at where you want, but it act nothing. No button indicator to open it, and you can walk through that door. I thought saloon door will swing when you walk to it, I guess I'm wrong.. Here some pictures of it:
  20. Hi, I watched many movies, many gameplays and editor tutorials and I realised that my game loads new terrain extremely slow. Additionally during this time my FPS drops to 9-7FPS, freezes even for 2-4 minutes or crash completly. Additionally if I have big, complicated base and/or ship - game crashes everytime. I wrote about this probleam earlier, but noone esponded. Ylands is unplayable for me for longer than 20-30 hours of exploring and building. There is my post with all my specs and details: My disks are not SSD, but are not horribly old, defragmented and cleaned. Howether, could anyone try to guess what can be my problem?? My specs in short are: AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.40 GHz, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, Radeon HD 6850 1GB VRAM (I know - old and slow, but it have to be like this for now). Win 7 PRO with all latest updates (no, I do not want new MS cr.p). All drivers are up to date, no viruses, nothing working in background, Video settings on low, Radeon set to performance (everything off). Can it be Graphics card problem? SSD HD would change anything? My processor isn't capable of handling Ylands?? (it can handle GTA V and Watch Dogs with no problems)... Thanks in advance, Bartosz
  21. According to the in-game help, the protective barrier, when active, will protect the plot owner from damage by other players while offline. However on the official NA 4 server I had an activated protected barrier and was within plot while offline and I was still PK'd. When I logged back in on the NA4 server I was even able to catch the name of the person that killed me.
  22. Items in bold are in my opinion, the most critical issues. GENERAL BUGS When destroying a ship, the sails, ladders, anchor switch, and helm control should also destroy. (Currently they float in the air where the ship once was) Sometimes items in inventory will vanish but still occupy the space. So users will see a warning message about there not being enough space, even though there is at least one empty slot. When dropping a miners hat on the ground it will sometimes sink showing just a tiny bit of the upper portion of the hat that is too small to interact with. When placed on blocks, it will pass through the blocks to rest on the terrain below it. EVERYTHING WRONG WITH MULTIPLAYER It takes too long for the server to register that a user has logged off, thus they can be killed long after they have logged off, even behind a BP. Locks for helms are useless outside of a PB, this means any ship can be stolen easily; it only takes a few wacks with a stone hammer against a locked helm to destroy it, then a new helm can be added and the user can run off with the ship. Griefers like to point them away from the island, open the sails, then jump off and swim back to the island letting the ship sail away. Lag gets worse as the server gets older, so any new server has a limited life span, often very short. Unless the server owner spends a lot of time removing trash from the ground that has been left all over the island. Dead bodies from murdered and starving offline players does not help either, esp since they cannot be removed in-game. Junk items should auto despawn after x number of minutes, this includes wood chunks, bark, sticks, unplanted seeds, sap, broken grass, etc... Basically, anything that can be easily regenerated. Limited items such as stones, iron, and clay should not despawn. The size of the save file also seems to contribute to lag, or the size of the file is an indicator of things happening in-game that contribute to lag. Dead bodies cannot be removed if the player never logs in again. So anyone killed within a PB gets to remain a perm structure for the plot owner to stare at. Even the admin remove tool will not get rid of them. Dead bodies are also blamed for excess lag. In short, a corpse should disappear within minutes. Followup: We now know that player data is tied to a player body. So if you delete a corpse using the editor, you delete all player data and when that player returns, s/he has to restart. We need an option to remove a corpse without removing player data AND a choice to remove both the corpse and the data. We need to be able to see the latency to servers when browsing the list of servers. By default, the servers should be ordered according to latency. Currently the default is by game name I think. Ordering the list of servers by the number of players does not seem to work. It's possible that it is ordering by the total number of players that have ever joined the server rather than the current number of players logged in. BUG: In MP, items placed using free-placement-mode on the ship sometimes instantly vanish rather than being placed. BUG: Hitting a bird with a ship results in all kinds of madness, somehow a tiny bird is able to create chaos on a ship. BUG: Maps reset with a relog. This is a non-issue atm because map data gets saved for each user in the game save file and a lot of map data in that file can drastically effect the performance of a DS. Ideally, the issue of map data storage should be addressed before stabilizing the map in MP game. BUG: Ships can sometimes be turned on their side by jumping down on them from a fair distance. This seems related to the seagull bug - essentially, if something hits the ship hard enough, it can be pushed into a position that renders it useless. I don't know if this is an editor issue or a DS issue. If I create a trigger in the editor to display a message, it works fine in single player. But when I pull that map into a DS, that message will no longer appear. Other triggers will work, for example: spawn entity. THE EDITOR Key mapping in the editor should be 100% independent from keymapping in the game. With my custom key mapping I use my mouse buttons for movement but this interferes with the editor so I have to constantly change key mapping when going back and forth between the editor and testing the map in-game. There is an editor section of the keymap, but it alone should be used when in the editor, instead it *and* the other controls are used. In the editor, add the ability to include the broken protection barrier to a player inventory. (This is very important for creating custom MP players) BUG: In the editor, there is an option to edit the HP of items placed in the world. However this does not seem to function in-game. No matter what value I enter for HP, the default HP is registered in-game. You can test this on the lantern which can be broken with just a few bare hands hits, even if you give it 15000 HP which is the same HP as a ship, it will still break right away. I would love to see a trigger option for "remove entity". MY WISH LIST An option to exit a game without saving progress (this can help alot if a bug is encountered during a play session). Custom key mapping should be 100% reflected in the displayed tool tips. So if the tool tip normally showed left click but custom key mapping is left-shift, then the tool tip would correct to show left-shift too. Edit: This seems to work as expected for keys, but it does not work when customizing the mouse. Pots don't work as expected. I should be able to plant a seed *in* the pot. Currently, planted seeds touch a pot but are not *connected* to it mechanically. You can see this if you try to plant a seed on a pot that is on a boat, the boat and the pot will move, but the planted seed will remain there floating. I Would like to see an option to "pin" tool bar items in the top row of my inventory so that my tool bar items are not scattered around my inventory. Please add borderless window option (forever requested, in any game ever made). I'd like to see an option to disable the incredibly annoying screen flashing when freezing. Edit: This has been addressed by the devs, looks like they are planning for a fix I would like to see the water level even out to a default level when editing the stuff below the surface. Any removal of dirt or sand changes the water level locally. If I swim out 30 feet from shore, drop a couple of dirt, then dig the same dirt, there is now a large perimeter around that spot in which you can see that the water level is lower than the rest. In most cases there are multiple layers of water. This makes it difficult to build oceanic bases unless those base builders are okay with things looking odd or make it a point to never remove dirt or sand from the ocean. But in most sandbox games, players want their areas to look nice and the option to dig anywhere. I would like to see two additional support forums on the community site, one for servers and one for editors. Editors can work together to help troubleshoot editor issues and ask/answer questions. The server section can be used for the owners of servers to promote and discuss their public and private servers. The workshop site should allow for textual content by the author when posting a scenario and commenting by scenario subscribers. Some scenarios might need a guide but there is no room for text beyond a tiny 250 character description. Feedback would be nice too, especially for improving the scenario. Rating the scenario is nice but it doesn't offer insight on how to improve it and for this subscribers should be able to comment. I wish we had the option to map our keyboard for emotes. The radial is nice for controllers, but I should be able to map a key to my keyboard too for a one-press function. It takes way too long to pull up the radial and select an emote. Some new commands for DS admins: /setborder to set a limit on how far players and objects like ships can pass - can help with performance issues. /removeall <item> to quickly remove every type of a discarded (not placed) items, like debri from mining and tree chopping. /removeallhere <item> same as the former but removes all of an item currently loaded within a preset distance from admin. FIXED: OPC Starvation. (OPC = offline player character) Issue with players hiding behind fluid names to grief servers. This was fixed by adding the ability to ban a user by Bohemia ID. Ladder teleports users to other random locations. Within a BP, accidentally using a hammer on a container will cause all items in the container to vanish. Items in the container should return to player inventory or drop to the ground. I'm repealing this suggestion because it's the only way to get rid of stuff en-masse. For example, if you have a stack of 1000 sand in your inventory, have fun clicking 1000 times to destroy it, or place it in a basket protected by an orb and then hit it with a hammer. Forced new character when old character is still alive and well. WISH: I wish the helm and anchor switch could be *centered* on ships. - I'm repealing this because this is already possible by going into first person to use absolute positioning. Limited resources are fine for single player, but in MP, anyone that has not joined a new server early on, will not get clay or cloth unless at the mercy of other players. This is not "fixed" but I removed it from the list because I'm convinced that the Explore map was not designed for MP and this issue can be resolved with a custom world made with the editor. Boats cannot be protected with a lock. Finally fixed! Yay! The Protective Barrier (PB) does not prevent editing the land, thus any base can be griefed. A nice looking base that took hours or days to create, can be ruined in a matter of minutes. If the base is on water, or on a shore, the water can also be glitched by simply digging in the water. Fixed in 0.7. In the editor, add an option next to the "pickable" option for "can't be destroyed". This means lanterns can be protected too (An issue with glass items in 0.63). Added in 0.7.
  23. Hi, I was playing with my friend in multiplayer. I got kind of lost and when I found our ship, It was completely bugged (see screenshots). I tried to run on the ship and got stuck. When I tried to write the unstuck command, my game got frozen in chat and then crashed completely. It only happened to me, my friend (as the host) saw the ship normally.   24. Hello there, Well, I played Ylands for almost 200 hours, four long explore mode games and I experienced constant crashes everytime. Game was unplayable anymore and I had to start new game again and again. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I listed everything I remember what was happening. Below is my list, PC specs and LOGs. Before I start, I'd like to state few important things: a) My system is AMD Phenom II x4 3.40 GHz, 8 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB VRAM. Windows 7 PRO with latest all latest updates. All drivers were reinstalled clean, I'm clearing everything from my memory before starting Ylands, including shutting down firewall, antiviruses, all residential soft and not needed services. b) Radeon is set to performance - everything is turned off or Ylands decide what to do with video (and here I'd like to ask Ylands team once again for allowing people to turn off antialiasing and some other video options). c) Ylands Video is set to mostly to MIDDLE. Low is just.. unplayable for me. Instead of changing resolution ( it's 2048x1152) I set scale to 40%. Radeon video settings set to max (except antialiasing) in fact is not changing my FPS at all. Also screen resolution seems not to change FPS much. Ylands Video Low or Ultra seems to change not much or nothing too. I can only see big difference in performance turning on or off dynamic weather and environment. FPS cup is set to 30. My usual FPS in most modern games on middle-high settings, GTA V for example, usually oscilates around 30 FPS, so it's not a problem for me. This is some thoughts on Ylands gameplay on my system: 1) Game usually starts with around 40 FPS, no matter if settings are Low or Ultra. In small area, small island or map 30FPS is normal speed with "spikes" (around 10 frames less). On bigger maps however or during game I was playing for a few days usual framerate is around 20FPS with "spikes" freezing gameplay around one second. After another few days (let's say 5-6 ylands discovered, house, few shacks, small ship) FPS drops to constant 12... with spikes freezing my gameplay for up to 3-5 seconds! 2) All "constant" crashes (around one minute after downloading savegame) were happening always after around 12 hours of gameplay, when I explored most of the Ylands, collected most of needed resources, built most needed stuff (workbenches, stoves and so on), planted bigger fields, main big base, some houses and ship with lots of chests and masts (no bricks - below I will describe why). 3) I checked - my game do not crash during rainstorms. 4) Game crashes only on land - never happened during sailing, on desert bioms or artic ones. And there is something I discovered so far and I'm sure there is a reason: 1) Crashes always looks the same - game starts at 40FPS, environment is slowly downloading around me layer by layer, during loading my FPS drops considerably to 9 FPS and even below. Spikes freeze me for longer and longer and it happens more often - at first it a second or so, then 3-4 second, then up to around 10 seconds and then few seconds of 9FPS gameplay and again the same thing, then game spikes again, but do not unfreeze anymore. In the background windows shows "Display driver stopped, but was properly restarted and it's working again" (it's loose translation, sorry) error. After hitting return key, Ylands shows whole white screen and error appears: "ylands.exe do not respond. Do you want to wait or exit?". 2) Game never crashes if I'm not moving at all. Even rotating or trying to go to sleep causes crashes. Moving moon animation is stuttering, freezeng more often and for longer every second, then game freeze and crash. 3a) I realised that game crashes ONLY wneh game have to download new environment and complicated structures at the same time. For example: I can play or edit my world as usual with "the crashing world", but only if I'm far away from, let's say, big, complicated ship very close to dense jungle or complicated ship and big base with giant house surrounded by gardens and lots of trees........... 3b) Game is occasionally crashing if I'm running fast in hilly terraing with dense flora. Why? Simply, because when I climb over the hill Ylands is loading whole panorama at once - sometimes I just have to wait to see first land, then layer by layer - trees. If by any chance wild animal appears this moment - game crashes even mor often. 3c) And one more very important example: When I'm sailing my overbuilt ship - everything is ok, FPS in constant and nice with rare spikes (I suppose caused by underwater structures, sharks and models). When I'm closing to my giant base game slows down, there is more spikes, but game still plays normally. When I'm docking near my big house, game slows considerably, but few second later it's normal again (around 20FPS). I can run to my house, fields, forrest nearby and back to my ship and everything is ok and normal. I can plant, cut trees, move stuff to and from my ship for hours - no problem. But... then I'm closing the game (BTW: return to main menu usually stops on saving screen with turning wheel... and nothing happens - I have to manually shut the ylands.exe down. That happens 50/50 I'd say). Next time, when I want to continue my game, models are loading and around 30-60 seconds later game crashes. Every time. Well, in my opinion something is wrong during loading models/assets/scenes if you want to do it at once. If I could save my game further away from my ship and base and then load the game I could play it normally if... I just walk to my base slowly... I guess all my worlds would not crash at all if I could save my game in the woods... BTW.Hitting F10 no longer saves the game - that's bad, because it was very usefull. And again - please, add "save game to another slot" option. I do not want to star a new world everytime my savegame crash or I'll make tragic mistake. I hope this will help a bit...
