Ships, despite being one of the most essential aspects of Ylands Adventure Mode, are seriously lacking, even after the amount of updates they have gone through. This post contains some of the suggestions I have for making sailing better in Ylands. ( 1 : More sails ) I know that there are already tons of different sail options, but there could still be more. The sails would most likely be cosmetic and wouldn't attribute much outside of what any other sail would provide, but the cooler the ship, the happier the sailor. I recommend adding Jib, Spinnaker, Genoa, Gennake, Code zero, and Windseeker sail variants. ( 2 : Steam Ship Animations ) Currently, the Steam Ship Hull is unanimated apart from the rudder. The propellers don't spin even when using the Steam Engines and it looks weird. I'd like to see this changed about the Steam Ship Hull. ( 3 : Boarding Planks ) Boarding Planks would be either a placeable article, or something that's already attached to the hull by default, or both. The Boarding Plank would extend/retract when the player interacts with it, providing decent means to disembark without falling between the ship and whatever solid body you're parked against. ( 4 : HUD Improvements ) Currently, the Ship Devices aren't displayed on the HUD, making them difficult to work with when piloting a ship. It would be helpful if the values of the Ship Devices that've been placed were displayed on the HUD when piloting the Helm. ( 5 : Increase Maximum Sailing Speed With Engines ) Of course, when using sails, the ship is bound to be slow, but it's the same speed when using Engines. Engines currently offer the convenience of propelling any one's ship up to the maximum current sailing speed cap without the need for full sail, but I believe they should offer a greater speed cap when being used. It'd make Engine's even more worth it to have on a ship. ( 6 : Fuel Reserves ) Currently, Engines can only hold a very limited amount of fuel, and must be refueled individually. I recommend adding some sort of placeable building that Engines automatically draw fuel from without the express need for the player to manually refuel the engines. ( 7 : Ship Hull Additions ) We already have respectable variants of ship afts and fores, but I want something that I can place that will match the exterior of the ship whilst reserving space in the middle. I would like to see some sort of Hull Extension that allows for the player to raise the walls, aft, and fore of a ship, allowing for a simple way to add multiple decks without ruining the generic aesthetic of a ship. There could even be variants with portholes in them. ( 8 : Centered Helm variants ) Currently, every Helm variant is an odd number of tiles wide while every Ship Hull variant is an even number of tiles wide. I would like to see Helm variants that are evenly wide, enabling them to be easily centered on any ship. ( 9 : Hull Reinforcement ) I would like to see some way for a Ship Hull to be upgraded in order to increase its maximum integrity. ( 10 : Engine Cosmetic Parts ) I would like a block that reacts to the Engines on a ship being on, specifically an exhaust port so that I can make working exhaust stacks and be cool. These are all of the recomendations I have for now. I'll surely return soon with more weird ideas.

Hello folks! I wanted to share with you a smallish ship that I built over the past few days. Building off-grid is significantly more time consuming than building on the grid, but the shapes you can make are basically unrestricted because you can clip blocks into each other and rotate them however you like. While many of you probably already know this, it was something I discovered very recently. Here are some screenshots of the mostly finished ship, which I call the Gallant Galoot. The reason I say it is mostly finished is because I do not yet have the painting tool, so I cannot paint the ship in the way I would like. Other than that, the downsides to building off grid are, like I said earlier, that it takes quite a while to get everything to be rotated and moved just right, and even when you put the time in, you will still end up with lots of creases and lines as you can probably see. The other is that getting things to be symmetrical is almost impossible. I settled for "good enough from a distance" but even so, it took quite a while and I also used blocks on the grid as a sort of level to get curves and angles to line up, then deleted the "grid" blocks once I was satisfied. All in all, this is going to be how I build ships from now on. The last downside is that I dont think you can blueprint builds built off grid, so unless I am mistaken, the only way you'll get to sail on the Gallant Galoot is if I sail her to you. Anyways, I be wishin' you a fair wind on your voyages, Enchiladas!

I have been working on my steam boat in exploration for the last 2 days or so. I have another boat as well that im using currently. So what happened is, I claimed ownership over the steam boat, and then i got disconnected, then when i logged in, the ownership was back to the wooden boat! BUT! now I have 2 wooden boats! With all the items inside! It might be a bug for duplication but i just want my steam ship back pls. Can you help me with my steam ship? i work very hard on that

So I'm having some trouble with building my first ship in exploration. I've alt placed the body of the ship, but I've placed it just above the waters surface. I cant dismantle the ship now, only its parts like the ladders. Is it a lost cause trying to get these resources back or am I missing something?

RESOLVED [Bug] Some workstation on ship rotates when it is fed/ignited
IliIlIIllIIlIilI posted a question in Bugs & Technical Issues
As the title says, some workstations built on ship would rotate itself upon "feed" and "ignite" actions. Attaching screenshots just in case. How to replicate: Build a ship Install a workstation that has "Feed" and "Ignite" functions, i.e., stove, blacksmith station, kiln, and a few others. Feed or ignite it (either by hand or button) and the workstation will rotate right away. Thank you for your time, have a good day. -
Well, ships will be the most important thing for the 1.5 updates. And my suggestion is what about custom masts. You can draw your masts and draw a logo for your own clan. Source: http://onepiece-treasurecruise.com/ And also what about a custom flag? Those suggestions were coming when I was building my own ship for the next update. I was searching for inspiration from One Piece, and when I found this image, I got those suggestions. I know the Devs already have a list of better plans for the game, so I'm just sharing these suggestions/ideas with you guys.

Before saying anything, I don't know what the main purpose you guys are following with this game is, so I'm not sure if you wanna pursue simulation or you are creating a sandbox with no realism more focused on the amount of things you can do, but I have noticed you have put some hard work into making the ambient and the feeling of some artistic parts of the game transmit a nice realistic vibe (rain, torments and the awesome sky colorings), if I were you guys, I would go for a bit more simulation with this game (the potential is there and is REALLY BIG). Non of my ideas or comments are meant to offend anyone, they are just described as I have thought them. * After clarifying that point, here we go with some things I think need changes: 1. During long ship travels, alone or with friends, you mainly get nothing to do apart from seeing the beautiful sky (with friends even worse in the sense they have nothing to do at all apart from maybe... looking the map?), the ship doesn't lose its path even if you leave the rudder alone, the wind as it is right now has no effect (or almost no effect over the ship apart from the speed), I would recommend to implement a sailing system where you can have and control different kind of sails and even have to rotate them depending of the wind direction making that to have a real difference on how the ship behave on each situation, then you could make use of your friends as ship crew and give them some kind of utility, if you are alone, well, to handle a big ship alone IS a really hard task, so the idea should be to reflect that in the game, you should be able to pay for some NPC to control parts of the ship and maybe live on your ship in the case you don't have any friends to play with. ***This whole point number 1 would create something that has more logic to me: "The more sails you set in your ship, the faster you go but the harder is to control it properly"*** 2. Doesn't look that placing the sails on the ship's sides has any wrong effect on it, the center of gravity of the ship doesn't vary, that's not cool and doesn't feel logic at all, you should be able to sink a ship totally bad constructed. 3. The water simulation is off, so I will wait to comment on that in detail, but I am expecting something cool from it, something that really affects the way swimming, ships and boats work in the game. 4. Some stamina system is necesary, there is no sense that you can swim faster than a ship the whole time. 5. there is no risk of die during a torment if you are swimming apart from dying frozen being near to a pole. Maybe you should or could drown if you get out of stamina? (point 4) 6. The AI (artificial intelligence) of the game is poor at the moment, feels bugged and not responsive at all in most cases (plus some animals, specially tigers or wolves should have an special evasion movement as well). Maybe add serpents on deep forests when getting plants? (venom risk, etc...), I won't comment on sharks, I am sure you already know what happen with them. 6.1. Ground animals can be EASILY killed if you go to water and even punch them to death, and viceversa, sharks can be EASILY killed if you go to the seashore and punch them from the solid ground. Maybe you have seen more than one of this comments or ALL reviewed before by other users, but I hope they really help to create an awesome game, because it is, and I repeat, the potential is there. Have a great day and I will keep tracking issues when I have time.

I repeat the warp of the place because my coordinates go wrong when I board a ship. It's the same on any public server. This is not a lag. I would be happy if you fix it. I can not go on adventure by ship.

I feel like we need a much much larger ship, at least for multiplayer. Here's why; The large ship we already have is great, don't get me wrong. It's a decent size for everything you need, but this is only decent enough for one person. Playing with 2/3 of my friends, ships can get very crowded relatively quick, especially if we're packing up to explore a new island and need our crafting items. On multiple occasions we would accidently push each other overboard or fall off due to lack of room. Not only this, but once more players are on an island, resources are used up much quicker, therefore the option of building a boat for a crew of 1/2 is a much harder feat. The small ship size also really silences the huge amount of creativity I know many people are capable off. So many creations I see with massive ships are hugely put off by a tiny little unrealistic hull sitting at the bottom, as the is no other choice to build these things To defeat issues like this, I think a great idea would be a much larger ship, perhaps twice the length of the current max size, and triple the width? I know I saw a lot of suggestions for a built in hull space, which I think is a great idea. This would mean a lot of ship builds would be less messy and cluttered, especially with the current ship+building on ship small bugs. Watching Youtube videos on the game will show you quickly just how popular the boat/ship function in the game is, and in all honesty everybody's childhood pirate loving side comes out when building said ship. I feel like a much bigger sized ship would really, really expand on this and make the game even greater!

RESOLVED [Ships] Block placement
Jordan-290eb88b53a0e6d8 posted a question in Bugs & Technical Issues
I've noticed that when building on ships the waves offset the placement of the block if the mouse is still. To combat this I have to keep the mouse moving while I place anything. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this or if a fix is being developed? -
wouldn't it be super useful when you need to land in a new island? preventing the big one tho stuck on the low water areas

How about a craftable buoy that we can place in the water to mark shallow reef in areas we frequent with our ships and boats. I think about this a lot when I am headed back from adventuring and avoiding the same areas.
-
It would be nice to have a fast travel option for returning to home base once we have explored a new Yland. It takes forever to sail back. I don't have engines yet, or making the ship faster (with sails) would also help.

I do not know what we have done, but the game has broken for me, not for other players though. I've built a ship and made cannons on it, while using a cannon, I suddenly got stuck in the ships hull. I tried /unstuck 0 and that made things worse. I cannot move, even after a relog, I am in the same position. I think we found a pretty critical bug. I am not sure if that's something you're interested in seeing logs from, or even joining the server and try and use the ship yourself. I just crashed the game for another player as well. Seems like I've made the ship of doom! If someone wants to see the bug in real life, I'll gladly give you our server name and password. After getting stuck, we managed to get free with /unstuck 0, but could not move from there until getting killed. Going over to the boat, will get you stuck again, just by being near it. For some odd reason, the VOD is not visible on the streaming page, I've asked support about it, cause everything was recorded. When I have the VOD, I'll post a link here. output_log.txt error.log

Hey. I experienced a few bugs today, this is what happened. (single player exploring) My ship had problems with turning, and I didn't notice before I was stuck on a shoreline. Because I almost couldn't turn, I didn't back up. So I started digging my ship free. My rope ladder on the left side of the ship suddenly loosened from the ship and went through the sand, I could just spot it, and when I clicked on it, I got teleported to my other rope ladder on the other side of the ship. All I could do was to break it while it was still visible. (after a relog my ship was able to turn quickly again) Later I found "trasure" beneath the ocean. I got a lag-spike and died by a shark. I spawned by the nearest yland(Should I not spawn at my starter yland?) I made a raft and found my ship when I climbed the rope ladder on my ship the screen turned white, but I could see the head of my avatar. A short while after I was suddenly on my starter yland, I did not die. I made a new raft and found my ship again, but the same thing happened.(should have done a relog, but I was too tired to try again)

RESOLVED Falling thru the world when using ship's ladder
Fyrestorme posted a question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Hi, I've never reported here before so bear with me please. I have been going through the painful process of getting my ship out of the too-shallow water I built it in and have suddenly begun to fall through my ship, the world, and eventually freeze to death (guess hell froze over). This has happened to me twice in a row. I've worked around getting stuck inside the geometry of my ship but this is new! I did a search and it seems that someone had a similar problem with an invisible ladder in their hut. I would attach my save files if I had any idea where to find them! -
RESOLVED [YLD-8307] Ship get´s black
Mailman-95783b10849e5f3e posted a question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Hi, We have much fun with this game but there are some issues For example, when you are on a new Island and you go out of the vision from the ship. when you come back the ship is only a black hull.. when you leave the Server and coming back, ship is ok again. Do you need something more? Thanks ! Chris -
I have this glitch where all the sails, blocks, items, helm and v placed items that were placed on The Hull of my ship disappear, which leads to me being stuck in the middle of the ocean. I’ve exited the world and reloaded it and it takes a few tries until the blocks load back onto the hull, I have tried going out of view range and coming back to see if it was just a visual load in glitch but it still didn’t work. This is a great game and I really want it to be the best it can be.

I have to admit having never running into this issue until somewhat recently. When you place the ready made hull of the ship down and attempt to build on it with the pointed bow piece and also the rear stern piece, the ship starts to flip around as if it's the piece your are placing instead....i never had this problem with the smaller ship hull, now that i've made the larger hull and attempted to build on it, this bug appears. I cannot build on the ship at all, every time i attempt to move the piece into place the entire ship flips on it's side or upside down or high in the air. To be sure I have reset my game and also made sure the anchor was down before building...none of these have fixed the issue. For now, is there any work around for this issue? I feel like this problem is pretty serious, especially when one of the main themes of the game is sailing.

Hi, I was playing with my friend in multiplayer. I got kind of lost and when I found our ship, It was completely bugged (see screenshots). I tried to run on the ship and got stuck. When I tried to write the unstuck command, my game got frozen in chat and then crashed completely. It only happened to me, my friend (as the host) saw the ship normally. Thanks. 2017-12-29_194208.zip output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

[Could be a Bug] Weird Size of Ship's Hull Boundary
V-Alfred posted a question in Suggestions & Feedback
Hey Devs and Ylanders, something weird happen when I was building my ship in the Editor. I don't know how this happen, I just realized this bug when I try to move my ship with my character in explore mode, and the ship won't turn, only onward and backward. Back at the Editor, click the hull, I saw that the boundary (green square) of the ship is changed, and it's so big (picture number 2). I though it was because I miss click and group objects that far away, but I couldn't even check it, because when I go to farthest point of this green square, it will gone poof because of the distance limit of selected object. And then I check the right click option to see if the hull is really in grouping, but nothing say "group" in there when I only click the hull (picture number 1). Here is my exploration mode save game, where this bug happened. My ship is at another island nearby, when you spawn in from editor you will see fisherman shack nearby. You can follow this angle (picture number 3) to get to my ship's location, it's simply just forward not too long from this angle and the ship is at the beach on another side where you from. For now I can't seems to fix this issue, so I'll just load my old backup. If you guys found another way around please let me know. Thanks in advance. RAGNAR(1).rar
