limit of compositions or error?

Question

Hi devs

It has really surprised me not to expect to find a limit on this.O.o

At first I thought it was because it was too large a composition that was giving some error, but try and also happens with small compositions.

Right now to save a composition I have to delete some of the ones I already have.
another option would be to save the compositions in another location, but then every time I want to access some I have to be putting them back in the compositions folder.

another problem is that if you save the composition with the name in lowercase the search bar can not find it, it only detects upper case.

Also aprobecho to ask a question regarding the save mode.
If I save a composition with the same name it is grouped in a folder, but I am a bit concerned about having compositions with the duplicate name.
Is there any way to group compositions with different names?

@Ane@HoupThis starts to be a problem, I would be lying if I said that it has not helped me clean my list.:D
But, I have reached the limit again, any solution for this?

Oops, I guess we'll have to increase your limit again :)

What's the name of your Bohemia Account exactly?

or forgiveness maybe explain me wrongly.
I mean on my own pc.
let's say that the folders where the files are stored seem to have a limit.
the composition or map, are saved normally, except that after it does not appear in the list of compositions or in the carpata.
today the same thing happened to me with maps, until I have deleted some, I have not managed to save it.

this afternoon I will try to arrive again to show a video with what happens

@Ane

aqui puedes ver un poco el problema, perdona los porrazos al tecladoxD

Hi, you are probably out of your steam cloud data storage. Best for you would be disabling this feature in your steam account:

1) right click on Ylands and click on Properties

steamproperties.PNG

Switch to tab Updates and disable your Steam Clound synchronization.

@Houp I deactivated the option and it did not work.
I restarted Steam and tried again and it has not worked either. In any case, it had more than 1 GB of available space still.
it must be for another reason

output_log.txt
output_log_clean.txt

Hello,

it seems Steam will enforce the limits even if it actually skips the synchronization. Besides space quota, there is another restriction imposed by Steam on the total number of files. It is currently set to a total of 1000 files.

Could you please check your remote storage directory if you hit the file limit?

The path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your_steam_id>\298610\remote. You can check total filecount in directory subtree by right clicking the directory and selecting 'Properties' - the dialog will have a line 'Contains: X Files, Y Folders'.

Thank you.

You are right then, anyway I have tried and when the limit is reached, it allows adding compositions externally.
that is to say if I add compositions manually in the folder if it is possible to have more.
I hope you find a solution for that, it's really necessary.

I will go in search of the dragon balls, to ask that this be solved with 0.12:D

Thanks for the help.

To immediately address the issue, the file limit is now raised to 3000 - you should be able to save new compositions/scenarios/saves without further waiting.

As a more robust solution, we still need to improve error indication, and possibly add option to bypass steam cloud entirely, so you are only limited by your physical disk space.
