While the name may be a work in progress the ship is ....... also a work in progress.

My first foray into the community and workshop. Any and all advice/feedback is greatly appreciated.

At this point, most changes are surface level or getting too difficult on the editor so its a better time than never to share it!

More Schooner than battleship but spacious enough to be enjoyed by lovers of either.

Very proud of the front

She's a standard ship instead of her more popular larger cousins. This isn't to her detriment however as I personally feel the scaledown gave me less hassle with some of the bends.

<please bohemia give us a mirror function>

the rear name plaque has been left empty for.... obvious reasons, feel free to shove your own in there (7-8 stone characters will fit without edits)

She has a little hidden not so safe cache in the quarters but it has mostly been left bare for people to re-decorate as they see fit.

A ship.

Spoiler

my sweat and blood

4 sails

2 deck hatches with chests

a front room and a rear

potatoes (in case you get the munchies on a long voyage)

Thank you! Getting bends on ships is a nightmare, you can't copy and paste as it refuses to bond to the ship, and without fine numerical control over its rotation, I couldn't get the sides to line 100& up.

The big one 2, electric boogaloo is back with another update!

re-did most of the back and added more firepower.

20190524021223_1.thumb.jpg.1d810a47bbe9e14950f916defac60a46.jpg

took quite a few tries to achieve the fancy back look. Not done yet but certainly better than last time!

only a little update today, going away for the week so this will be last update for a little bit. nothing large changed on the exterior yet, some minor adjustments and duplicate block removals. begun cleaning up the inside with some interior work (yes it will be furnished beyond boxes and cannons). been looking a lot at model ships and realized that no self-respecting ship designer would put the big guns on top, lest they want to end up like the mary rose.

Sadly we don't have a medium gun available but at least the little ones give me more room to run around on deck!

lastly, if anyone has any colour recommendations i'd gladly take them.

We had one, but it was a really freaky mirror xD  It displayed only the character, so there were just you - a ghost flying in an empty void - in the mirror :P

У нас было одно, но это было действительно причудливое зеркало.  XD  В нем отображался только персонаж, так что в зеркале были только вы - призрак, летящий в пустой пустоте - :П

I mean the construction tool. To be able to put the blocks symmetrically.

not quite what I meant but that sounds utterly terrifying.

Love these big ships :D

thank you!

I also love the bigger lads, but some of them end up feeling.... chunky, hence my attempt at a sleeker double deck.

for a progress update.

the interior is coming along and the front is now mostly finalized, deck improvements both above and below are proving to be a pain. still need to finish the interior, clean up the deck and sides,

the rigging, of course, will probably be the biggest headache.

Enjoy!

alright, lads, the rigging went faster than expected, some minor hull cleanups but mostly just the rigging sorted tonight.

certainly gives it a hell of a lot more ship shape-ness

People of ylands, lend me your opinions!

I have elongated the ship ever so slightly and redone the deck layout, Yay or Nay?

OLD VERSION (2 decks with 4 levels)

NEW VERSION (2 decks 5 levels)

Yay ofc

hah! thank you for the advice, I've also decided to expand the front a bit, now it looks a bit more like a 17th-century warship which was more of the end goal...

it gets much harder to build as you pile more stuff on, glitches are far more frequent and I am spending more and more time moving it to new editor games as the controls keep breaking.

decided to try and improve performance, now cleaning the decks by replacing what I can with larger blocks since much of it was made up of bricks. hopefully will reduce the block count by quite a bit.

I'm a fan.  Amazing work.  I applaud your patience with the angles on a ship, even in Editor it can be tedious.

Thank you for the kind words!

Tedious doesn't even begin to describe, when you hit a certain block density, all of a sudden it's near impossible to move a selected block unless you do it from far away! for some reason, the game just selects and moves a different one.

Regardless. with any luck ill have it polished and fleshed out by the end of the week!
