Tiny flying fragments of dirt/rock/sand after digging

When I'm digging away hills and stuff, I often get tiny floating fragments of terrain left behind.

The only way to get them is to place a tower material underneath them until they merge into the tower, then dig that away again.

The larger fragments sometimes will show up in a dig box, but that's rare.

These offend my eyes greatly. What can be done?

It will be easier of you have a propeller pack as you can fly over these tiny little remainings. If you have a terraformer gun, with practice you will be able to delete them, but be careful because a terraformer can literally destroy the ground ?

Use the pickaxe. They have greatly improved the aiming areas. 

Or the keg of powder if you don't mind a crater.

You can use the building blocks as a reference to eliminate a specific area of terrain, for the remains that remain in the air difficult to remove you can put a block nearby and dig in it, to eliminate the remains that are around
