Question

I think there needs more attention to this bug that seems to commonly arise. When my friends and i are trying to join each others game being hosted it sometimes throws an host unreachable error message then boots the connector from the server regardless of load percentage. We've tested out creating two servers(worlds) from my end. Everyone connects fine the first go through and can reconnect with no problems for a time being. Variables that i've noticed that were at play during reconnection issue. Eventually i tried logging out and waiting for my world to save for a good 5 minutes then was forced to force close the game due to some sort of freezing while saving. I reloaded immediately after to check for any data loss and it appeared to be fine. Later in the day my friend attempted to join and was met with this error. On world two i left the server open to the public and during a player join my friends experience an alteration in game hud while the game froze during the entering. After the game unfroze my friend decided to relog to fix the gui issue and was met with host reachable. And alas we come to our final world. My friend hosted a server and during an attempt to reset the server, to display the unlocked yet still undisplayed schematics in crafting inventory, i was met with the host unreachable error.

Conclusion, it seems that improper / untimely crashes and errors during resets cause sometime of error preventing further connections from client side of hosted servers.

I discussed this issue with a friend who  is an IT expert with  my former  employer...  His  reply  is  "its not a fault with the game,  so get over it ... check  your  antivirus/ firewall / and  scan for   malware that may be  interrupting your connection..or  worse  still,  key logging or  spying on your  computer".

He  looked  through a lot of the "complaints" on this forum out of  curiosity  about  logging in, crashing and graphics  issues. In  90% of the cases he says its most likely  incompatible graphic cards,  out of  date drivers, or  trying to get a  small under powered laptop to run a more intensive program. People  should read the  min. requirements  to run this game  before screaming they cannot log in. Don't  expect a motor  scooter to  be able to haul a trailer load of  bricks!o.O

Unfortunately,  he says this is  a common issue with most  Mp  and newer games ... a lot of the new players are used to  console  type  games  with  standard  graphics etc, and they have  no idea   about  how a  PC works. Its  Easy to  blame the  game  rather  than do a little research ..such as  " can my computer run it? "

He also noted  that  a lot of the  calls for  help  have already been answered  and a  fix  notified ...  just people   find it  easier to  complain rather than do a little research.

I only post  something here that's obviously a bug  ...   either  a new one  or to confirm an old   one  with  additional  information that might lead the  Devs. to a clue   about  whats  causing it.

A chain is as strong as its weakest link ..    and where there's  multiple  links involved  ..like  steam,   your  internet  provider,  or the  cable  connecting  you to the internet,  etc  you should  consider  them before  denouncing the  game , like a few  have  done on steam.

Even a top of the range  computer with all the  bells and whistles  can have  issues if its not set up correctly, or  if its clogged up with useless  apps  and the  cache full of  "cr@p" ...    regular   clean up maintenance   will help, and maybe   better to move   your data   from visiting porn sites onto  usb  sticks  or  deleting it  before  mummy and  daddy find out:P (such  sites  are notorious for   sneaking in spyware and  such...)

I occasionally  get  a  few  seconds  lag /hang  but   it doesn't  send  me  off  into a tirade..  I know  i have a  slow   connection,  i have a  i3   cpu, and  run a  Nvidia 750 gtx  graphics  card ...not the   top notch stuff  but it allows me to play and i accept the  shortfalls.

I run  Crapcleaner, malwarebytes and  my  Bitdefender disk tune up program at least  once a week ..its  amazing how  much   rubbish they find ..and how  faster  the  system  runs  afterwards!^_^

Meanwhile  i  am  enjoying the game and find the occasional   freeze an good time to run to the toilet ..or  make a cup of  coffee ...:D

So   my post got a down vote   ...somehow  i expected it would.  It just proves my point that some do not like  facts.  If you  put your hands over your ears and  chant   "la-la-la" you will eventually  find that no one will be inclined to help you in the future.  Fortunately the developers of this game  will still try to help you, but  really,  if you listen, you  might get somewhere.

Anyway,  I like this  game ...and accept that its  still in early  access and there is a lot of  tweaking to do ... but  what is  also  exciting is they have a  road map  for  future developments...  unlike  other games.

Enjoy  the  game .B|

Aye aye xD Facts is hurt, but it's what it's.. back to the topic, troubleshooting network problem is kinda finding an ant inside jar of candy, it's possible but you need to look at many factors. This could caused by port that used by another program(could be malware), or simply bad connection at the time( I noticed if you have atleast 3 RTO while playing multiplayer you will get "host unreachable" notification), and many other problems)
