Issue was caused by bad synchronization of player pets in MP, should be fixed for several years now.

This problem was fixed back in 1.4, was caused by combination of problems (desynchronization of workstations and ship construction mode)

Mentioned issues were fixed in 1.1 years ago. Except for the case if player has connected a controller which is not recognized by unity (unsupported controller should be unplugged from PC or you can change option for autodetect in controls).
