  1. I'm looking make a boat that automatically travels between two islands.

And, I've been trying to look into the easiest way to accomplish said task.
Specifically, using AI Behavior and reference point.

However, apply the behavior directly to the boat doesn't seem to do anything.

So I added an NPC, and set the behavior. He walks back and forth on the beach. With the points being in the water. He won't actually get to the them. But he tries his best.

Then, I tried to set him as a driver on the boat, via a script. But nothing happens.
Then I added a helm. Still nothing.
Then I made him the driver with the helm as the entity target. And then I got an error.

So I'm wondering if this is something that's possible at all?

Also tried a little with animation.
But it seems too rigid. If I'd like the boat to rock back and forth against the waves. And, the boat seems to disappear, when I add it to a group, and animate it. Since the boat itself has no Animate check box in properties.

  2. I know I've only been here a very short time.

But, couldn't someone make a map. Implement the transaction script, invite their friends. And have them pay over that?
Unless, I'm mistaken. And the author of the map doesn't actually get any of the crayons from the map via the transaction scripting?

Dont use string, say text. No one outside of programmers know what a string is, why something is or is not a string.

String makes perfect sense. I think this visual scripting concept is a great idea.

And it's an especially useful tool to learn to get into the programming mindset, and linguistics.
'Strings' is the norm most languages you use to define 'text'.

And with that in mind, I think it makes perfect sense to use the word string, as it would also help for new people to learn, if they decide to get into programming.
While it would also help us, who are more familiar with programming, to feel more at home with the visual scripter.

    console.log("Also, kind of funny we can insert code blocks on the forums. But no visual scripter block? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯");

  4. What about the ability to upload, or link, our own images/sprites?

Obviously, I'm aware that some people will take advantage of that, and upload, or link to, less than savory images.
But, that's what the report button is for, right?

I do believe the pros outweighs the cons.

I mean, there's a reason you can pretty much upload your avatar to pretty much any community site, right?
Even this forum. In fact, looks like I could upload anything I wanted to.

Just as a reference point, if someone where to use that argument to not let us add our own sprites.

Now I understand early access means things might change.  But there was a clear precedent that the dedicated server would be an option up until just before the release when they cancelled it and gave us only a paid option for a dedicated server.  IMO that's a d**k move.

As someone who just found about this game yesterday.

Reading the Steam Reviews, and other various sources.

Seems to me, from my personal perspective, that they decided to remove the dedicated servers based on greed.
Now, the actual reason, may be different.

But they should be doing a better job of communicating it, if that's the case.

And maybe let us know if they plan on bringing it back?
