  1. I have noticed most lag in areas where there is a lot of trees or other flora on the ground areas and also if there is a place where I have a lot of items thrown onto the ground. My current house is quite large with windmill and electricity and I do not see much lag but everything is put away in chests and neat. When I go back to where I first settled there is a lot of junk thrown around (was more worried about surviving than keeping it clean) and I get more lag there than at home.

  2. Baked potatoes are my fav. fill you full and super easy to make. You can definitely eat past the "im not hungry" message. with a baked potato i can go quite long before the hungry message reappears.

Cooked fruit is also super easy with bananas since you do not have to replant those and you get quite a bit per tree.

I ate several bananas (10) past the "not hungry" message and I also did not get the hungry message appearing again for some time.

  3. The birds follow direct lines from ysland to ysland. It is possible you saw a bird flying half way between 2 islands and sailed right between them. Try to follow the birds and find out which direction they are going. If you sail more than 10 min in open water without any sign of birds or ylands you are probably not going to find anything. turn around and sail in a different direction.

For best results look for birds on the shore of your island or from top of a mountain. If you dont see any there, try to sail around your yland away from shore and look for birds. There should be at least one coming and going from your yland to another one. follow it and you should find new lands.

I have only a small boat but have found 2 different ylands using this method not far from my original spawn point. My second hop I found a desert yland that had a small patch of sulfur (the item I was looking for) on the surface.
