  1. One thing I'd like to see added to the important fix list is the ships/cars corrupting in the editor saves. Blocks un-paint, un-move, and un-delete themselves. This severely limits the editor usability at the moment.

And a request for parts/feedback on the first iteration of the barrier: can we please have large doors, 4x10 and 5x12 size so we can make garage doors that can fit our cars. Please make sure they still look okay when flipped to make double doors of course :) Currently you can lock cars, but can't prevent them getting destroyed. It would be nice to store them safe inside our garage/house  :) And while you're there I'd like to see a 4x4 gate (so we can  extend the door height, but it would also make a nice trunk door on cars). Also some normal height 4 wide doors for houses and ships would be nice, or maybe they could be 7 or 8 blocks high.

  2. Any update on this? This happens with literally every ship/car I make, and the more I start to drag and copy/paste the vehicle itself the worse it becomes. It's nearly at the point where the editor is useless to make any vehicles at all. Everytime I test/play my island or simply close the map and open it again I find that half my work is undone, or worse, the things that I moved/deleted have duplicated themselves in the original place and I can find all the double blocks.

  3. I'd like to see vending machines that can do trades, so we can set up shops/stores on multiplayer. This way we can have more of a community on our servers. It would be nice if there would be more coins as well (iron and copper) which should be smeltable to obtain ingots again. Also the option to accept multiple payments (maybe a price in gold, copper, iron or maybe you're looking for a specific item?).

  4. I think that engines are actually more effective when you're comparing small numbers of both, since the fuel cost becomes massive with 4+ engines. I've ran the numbers on sails/engines and small sails give 60% speed of the large sails. There is also a maximum amount of sails/engines per hull type, for sails it is:

    Small hull, 450%

    Large hull, 550%

Large masts are 100%, small masts 60%.

Max amount of engines is 5 for small and 6 for large hull, and no difference between coal or ylandium. Your 10 engines are a little bit overkill :D

All top speeds are equal to the % of sails, up to their maximum. There for large hulls can go faster, however their acceleration is slower.

Another interesting option is to go hybrid, using 2-3 large masts and 2 engines. When you're sailing against the wind you can switch to engine power, when the wind direction is better you can sail for free :)

If you need any more info on the ship/sail/engine stats feel free to ask!

Edit: if you like to live the easy life like I do and don't need a mobile base, I usually use the small boats. You can easily fit some small tables and sacks on them for a total of 30 storage slots.

  5. Creator cube and annihilator are items which you can use to play in creative mode. It's different from the editor.

By "drag" I mean using the drag tool in the editor. It's next to the select tool. To properly use the drag tool, set the ships position (double click ship and edit the location and rotation) to a multiple of 0.375 and the rotations to 0. Doing this you can go inside like you want :)

Feel free to ask more questions!

So its best to build in the editor then, not with a creator cube? At least in this type of circumstance.

Definitely! Also when using the creator cube and the annihilator there is always a risk of accidentally deleting your entire ship (been there done that).

  7. You can build up and out to a certain extent indeed. If you want to go beyond this boundary, you will have to use another trick, only available in the editor:

First set all rotational values to 0 (double click your ship and set all the rotations).

Then set the location XYZ to multiples of 0.375 (1 block is 0.375m, and dragging blocks will snap them to the world grid, so your ship grid should be aligned to the world grid.)

Next you place the blocks you want somewhere on the ship, and then with the drag tool you can drag them to where you want to place the block.

Using this technique you can clip blocks into each other, giving you more creative ways of building :)

  8. Sounds good! The only thing I'm not sure about is the damage from walking in a stream, since you could make a massive invisible killing maze :D Maybe give it another negative effect like blurry vision to encourage proper placement of power cables, although this would be difficult on cars, smaller ships and small houses.

  9. Try to find blueprints for this or a similar ship. They usually come with cut through views. If you make those "cuts", much like a skeleton, you can then connect them and make your hull :)

Here's an example of a blueprint with the lines/cuts on there! If you need any help please feel free to ask!

  10. The other way around is worse to be honest: when you make a lake on top of a mountain every ship will sink straight to the bottom :D

One tip I can recommend: place some beams with v(free place) or place them within the barrier. This way you can place the ship on them and when done building you can pick them up :)

good answer. I haven't got the paint gun yet so that makes sense.

You're quite right there, that not having the paint gun yet is very limiting. I feel that there should be a low tier painting option like a paint brush which should be much less useful, maybe use much more paint as well.

For example, there used to be 4 different color armchairs, blue, red, green and purple, and they all had a ottoman in the same color. Now all there is is a blue ottoman and a purple armchair. The combination of those looks absolutely horrible:

out of curiosity why do you think they should removed colored sails and car parts?

It doesn't make much sense to me to have 16 precolored sails, while we could make 100000+ color combinations on our own with the paint tool :) It just clutters the crafting menu as well, end-game the list of recipes is huge already!

  13. Hello,

I already reported a bit on this in another thread:

I've actually made a quick, plain test map that shows the problem rather well! I've made 3 gates:

    20171214221925_1.thumb.jpg.cae340df7ce1aef1922419d47f648f38.jpg

Gate 1, you can not go through. There is still roughly half a block space, but the game won't let you walk under it. Next to it is the exact same gate, but this time with slopes in front of it. For some reason, even though the height is 100% similar and you still walk under the exact same stone cubes, you can walk under this. But because the slopes are only in 1 direction you can only get through it in this one direction. Next to it is a 6 high gate which you can pass through normally.

On my ships I have been able to get through the left most gate. The reason I can get through is because due to the waves, the ship rocks from left to right. The character stays upright, so relative to the gate is in a diagonal position. This gives (when you're lucky) enough space to pass through, but it can be quite tricky. Also this triggers the other bug that when you push into your ship in first person the ship goes crazy.

Attached is the map, it's an editor scenario so be sure to change the extension :)

    TEST_FOR_ANE.txt

I've been finding issues with this when working with the teepee tents. First of all, the smallest teepee tent is no longer accessible whatsoever. Even though the character should perfectly fit, you can't get into it.

    20171216213752_1.thumb.jpg.481ac159c708b14e1c6dd755fc23aa07.jpg

Next, I've tried to make a door for another teepee. I tried them seperate: I can get through the door alone, I can get into the teepee alone, but when I combine them I can't get in again.

Edit: When I jump I can actually enter both of these tents, which is rather weird. Walking out is just fine.

so when i die in multiplayer i have to create a new character, is this intentional or a bug thats gonna be fixed? Its annoying because i tame a horse for example, and when i die its not tamed anymore, in singleplayer you can just respawn why isn't this in multiplayer?

btw is there a way to set a spawnpoint? for example via a bed or something like that?

Currently you always spawn back on the island where you died, unless that island is an arctic/polar island. In that case you spawn on the very first island. Setting spawn points is not possible right now.

  15. My idea's so far:

"Lego hulls", which are modular so you can choose the length of your ship, with different style bow and stern blocks so we can create different style ships,

    Have those hulls hollow,

    s-l300.jpg

This is how lego does it. Please note that these are 2 stern pieces, there is a different bow piece.

    Next up, lifeboat davits:

    10694.jpg

So we can have our small boats (maybe introduce a row boat, similar to the current boat but then with paddles, which is the only boat liftable by the davits. As a trade off for this feature it could be slower, think raft speed.)

More different mast types, with different speeds which depend on the wind direction. Certain types of sail plans work better with the wind from the back, others are better at sailing against the wind etc.

Change the sailing mechanics. I would like to see more realism in sailing, making tacking/jibing be beneficial in overall speed from A to B. Another mechanic that needs change is the wind. At the moment the whole wind mechanic is completely pointless: if the wind changes every 5 seconds there's no way you can plan for it, all it does is randomly change the speed at which you sail from A to B. Also make turning lose less speed.

Stability should be an issue as well. At the moment having more sails gives no penalty. I feel that if you sail full speed in a storm and make dodgy maneuvers there should be a risk of capsizing your ship.

    Some minor things:

Currently there is a bow wave visible. I think making this bigger would look a lot better. The mechanics are there, but they are barely visible while they add a lot to realism and immersion!

If the hull's wont be improved soon, can they be put lower in the water? 1 block deeper would already make a great visual difference.
