I have just dug a trench about 10 blocks wide, straight from the coast, at sea level, towards the center of the island and in the process extracted somewhere around 25k of dirt. And less than 20 stone chunks and marble combined.

try digging in the mountains if you want rock. i made a quarry on one of my mountain peaks, it's solid source of stone.

  2. out of interest: why is the "build" version translated as "bauen" here? "bauen" in german means "to construct". the appropriate translation here might be (surprisingly) "version", since this word means the same in german as it does in english.

i had the impression that the translation tool was meant to be used to utilize human translations from native speakers, but the part i quoted is definitely a machine translation. no offense, i'm just being curious. :-)

After playing Public MP servers off and on for a week now, I'm convinced that it's not worth it. The MP aspect is like a very early Alpha version of the game with so much broken and so much to exploit that it's not worth playing with any real goal of achieving anything. It's kind of sad that people are willing to exploit a game. Part of the fun of a game is over coming the challenge, some people can't handle any challenge at all, those people cheat.

it has nothing to do with the genre, this will happen in all public games. in most games you have no "base" or "property" though, which makes building games the worst for public play. i'd suggest to only play on password protected servers with friends or a community that has rulesets and enforces them.

    edit:

oops, just saw i necro'd this thread. sorry. :-)

Energy nodes crash: so far we've checked all the logs but we don't see anything that would explain that - we'll probably need a save. Do you think you could provide us with one and short description what we need to do for the game to crash? That would help us very much, thanks!

thanks for your reply. i will try to make that happen. how can i get you this file? would a download link be ok? our save is a little bit over 60mb already.. :-)

  5. thanks for this information!

one question: are there plans to fix the "game crashes when removing energy nodes/streams under certain conditions" bug? it's completely preventing my group from supplying our new harbor with electricity, because it's quite a massive electrical grid, and now we have a situation that the game always crashes (even in the editor) when we remove some parts of the energy grid.

Happened to me once when   my  ip connection dropped out...  I swam like  crazy after the ship and   it  did  stop eventually and i made it back on  board with  half  a  health  heart and 3  hungry  sharks  zeroing  in...O.o

I always   log out  after i have  anchored near a  yland...  if  I do get  caught in open sea,  and have to log out   lower  sails,  drop anchor  then hold onto the  helm like a madman  ....  and then log out ¬¬

Has not    happened   again after adopting that procedure

the most important part of all this is to stop the ship, so it won't sail immediatly after logging in. worked for me so far. :-)

So each player has their own designated spawn location?  That is nice!

i wanted to elaborate that this is already the case - kind of. not each player, but each island already has it's unique spawn point. we did exactly what you suggested, only that i shipped my friend out to an unhabited island for him to start exploring from zero, and when he died the first time, he spawned on his own island, while i keep spawning on mine after death.

    edit:

the "entry point" for the editor is still the spawn point on my island (which was the first initial spawn point of the save file).
