does it click now? it's what you (according to this thread) do to others. but you don't seem to like the idea of it happening to you. it's textbook irony.

i guess you're not able to see the irony in this, do you? :-)

no pong yet? my parents had one of these connected to the living room tv when i grew up. it was then replaced by an atari 2600. :-)

try digging in the mountains if you want rock. i made a quarry on one of my mountain peaks, it's solid source of stone.

as far as i know, the only option is the editor.

out of interest: why is the "build" version translated as "bauen" here? "bauen" in german means "to construct". the appropriate translation here might be (surprisingly) "version", since this word means the same in german as it does in english.
i had the impression that the translation tool was meant to be used to utilize human translations from native speakers, but the part i quoted is definitely a machine translation. no offense, i'm just being curious. :-)

you can start/stop all engines at once using your steering wheel (boat or car)! on a boat you switch between "sails" (even if you don't have any) and "engine".
for faster refilling you can craft a coal basket.

The MP aspect is like a very early Alpha version of the game with so much broken and so much to exploit that it's not worth playing with any real goal of achieving anything. It's kind of sad that people are willing to exploit a game. Part of the fun of a game is over coming the challenge, some people can't handle any challenge at all, those people cheat.
it has nothing to do with the genre, this will happen in all public games. in most games you have no "base" or "property" though, which makes building games the worst for public play. i'd suggest to only play on password protected servers with friends or a community that has rulesets and enforces them.
edit:
oops, just saw i necro'd this thread. sorry. :-)

why are you posting random screenshots in the developer diary? it does not make it easier to read the posts in here.

Do you think you could provide us with one and short description what we need to do for the game to crash? That would help us very much, thanks!
thanks for your reply. i will try to make that happen. how can i get you this file? would a download link be ok? our save is a little bit over 60mb already.. :-)

you can "dismantle" the power pack and get the power cells back if i remember correctly.
edit:
recharging of the cells works

thanks for this information!
one question: are there plans to fix the "game crashes when removing energy nodes/streams under certain conditions" bug? it's completely preventing my group from supplying our new harbor with electricity, because it's quite a massive electrical grid, and now we have a situation that the game always crashes (even in the editor) when we remove some parts of the energy grid.

I always log out after i have anchored near a yland... if I do get caught in open sea, and have to log out lower sails, drop anchor then hold onto the helm like a madman .... and then log out
Has not happened again after adopting that procedure
the most important part of all this is to stop the ship, so it won't sail immediatly after logging in. worked for me so far. :-)

how did you write on signs? i'd really appreciate a simple and short answer in text form in here, since your video is 35 minutes long.

most likely the content of your config files is not correct then. there are some tutorials and threads to find here, though.

i wanted to elaborate that this is already the case - kind of. not each player, but each island already has it's unique spawn point. we did exactly what you suggested, only that i shipped my friend out to an unhabited island for him to start exploring from zero, and when he died the first time, he spawned on his own island, while i keep spawning on mine after death.
edit:
the "entry point" for the editor is still the spawn point on my island (which was the first initial spawn point of the save file).

i have been able to solve this problem for me by removing the engine the stream was connected to in the editor. everything else i tried before always resulted in a crash, both with the normal client and the editor.

i have the same problem on my game. but only since we started using the dedicated server. we die of starvation while being logged out.
[Suggestion] Zoning that can be placed by Admin and Map creator to protect spawn point and specific structure
