Protective Barrier Generator not given

Currently playing 1.5 new exploration.  I deleted my progress and started over.  Made a new character and started in a new biome.  My Protective Barrier Generator didn't spawn in my inventory so now I don't know how I can get my hands on one.

 

Could I possibly make the game online mode and have a friend join and drop theirs for me to use?  Hopefully I don't have to restart as I've progressed really far =/

I have the same issue when starting a new 1.5 exploration game, and its a bit anoying because i dont want to play just to start over when the bug is fixed.

yeah this sucks man we can't use the demo hammer

would be neat if we could talk to the npc at our started island to claim the barrier generator.
