  1. Would like the UI to inform me of the number of islands in the scenario I am playing when playing Guest in a Multiserver.  Would like this because I do not want to make a raft searching for islands that are not there to find.  If I could get a heads up on how many islands there are I would know if it would be worth the search.

  2. Don't ever change them.  They are absolutely perfect!  I may seem like I am critical of Ylands or other players when I'm yarping on about glitches and suggests, but I am actually having the time of my life playing this game.  And sharks are seriously the very best.  Now I want a plushy to hug when I sleep at night.

  3. I'm building in editor and I don't think it saves what the Test Play Character does so I cannot terraformer it.  However I will keep that in mind good advice to check out how that works later.

Also if I do any larger constructions with/in water I get droplets that do not show in the editor.  I need to delete these but they don't appear.

  4. If I want to bury treasure as in fill a chest with objects but I want to do this from the Editor not have to start playing and place them myself with a player character.  How do I get objects inside chest and drawers from editor that I want people, when they play my island, to find already there in the chest or drawers.  Placing things in chests in the editor.

If I cannot any ideas on how from the editor I might try hiding objects through out my islands that are obviously not veggi or mineral.  Like have the player stumble on a find.  But I don't want it left in a house or on the ground.  More like a hide n seek treasure chest.

  5. I do not have a problem with people live streaming or using Discord.  I only wish that they not FORCE me to do so also.  I support livesteams with youtube by subscribing and with my upvotes.  I am very happy you have Discord and I may choose to use it.  When I am ready.

I am leaning toward a non-forced sleep on Multiserver request.

I do not want to play another version of Minecraft.  I would like Ylands to be different in the things that made Minecraft unwelcoming.

I LIKE THE NIGHT AND WANT TO PLAY IN IT

Forced sleep has become beyond tedious even now when I know how to craft a grass sleeping bag.  I think some people are making me sleep because they think I will want to sleep when they would have been just as happy to stay up all night.  Likewise I am sleeping for their sake afraid of offending.

I know everyone wants to solve all these problems with Discord.  That is fine for you.  But it ruins my immersion.  I want to feel like I am lost on an island without a telephone.

  6. Okay, so, I find this offensive.

I am new.  I don't get the materials to make a bed easily.  Still learning.  And I am not joining Discord.  Yeah, I said the great evil.  I already know the resulting comments; I have heard them a thousands times.  Stuff like, "Well if you don't want to join I guess you will just have to suffer."  Forcing people to Discord (or Teamspeak) is not my main topic.

On topic, kicking people for not sleeping is very offensive.

Let's talk the odds anyone even joins your server (generally speaking not you explicitly, Syx) to begin with.  Notice we only get up to eight people?  New players are going to go for the Public servers.  They don't know anyone yet to get invited to a Private.  Notice that most times public servers are only 0/8.  Sometimes 1/8.  Once in a while 2/8.  Very rarely 4/8. Finding other players appearing slim to newbs (lots of dead bodies tho).

Add to that all kinds of things that can go wrong once you join:  Stuck in eternal loading screen no escape option.  Bad connection.  World to large / involved and will not load.  Lagg.  Pvp'd by another noob who just learned to make a Stone Mace you good boy.

Lets consider what I might be greeted by if the server does work.  "PVE Super Noob Friendly Public Server come join us..."  and I load into a prison cell with npc's instructing me to join Discord or you character cannot move another inch.  EXCUSE ME?  Control freaks much?  This and only this will be Ylands' undoing.  It's the control crazy people who cannot see they are pushing newb potential players away by MAKING DEMANDS ON THEM.

No I will not join your Discord.

No I will not be part of your Livecast.

No I will not be your Prisoner until I comply.

And thanks a lot for taking up all the resources AROUND THE SPAWN POINT so noobs who cannot even gather materials to learn how to make a bed that you kicked for not making!

On the note of running your own server - I am getting a sinking feeling there is some kind of server selling marketplace but I have yet to figure out what that is about.

  7. Paula Voytek has made a very lovely home that I adore here for subscription.  The bathroom is awesome.  I was trying so hard to figure out how to make a bath like that!  But problem.  I noticed when opening doors I needed to open two instead of one.  Then I tried to color a chair and it would not paint half the time.  When I went to move a statue over a bit I realized what had happened when there was a statue under the statue.  Paula's house some how got saved in duplicate.  No judgement.  When working with Blender Render Program I have a "search for duplicates" options.  It happens.  But this brings up questions.

How do I contact Paula Voytek to explain the mistake?  Can Paula replace, reupload and remove the house on this site with a corrected non-duplicate?  I mean is that something that can even be done?  On the site's end and on Paula's end?

Also would like to note the "report" option does not seem to have a real use.  I mean what would we ever report?  This game doesn't have anything report worthy in it.   If I made a dungeon with whips and chains and drew penises on the cave walls with assembled geodes I doubt anyone would care.  Of course I came from TESO where that kind of scenario is encouraged by the devs of Elder Scrolls so maybe I'm desensitized.   The only time ESO got up-in-a-bunch was when a racial slur was insinuated by a guild in a rp'ing youtube vid.  Reporting a duplicate seems to drastic.  So how do I inform the house is borked?

  8. UPDATE:  You were right.  Leaving my problem below for future searchers.

    _________

I have no idea what Steam cloud saving is.

    PATH:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\415409451\298610\remote

Here is what I was doing:

UPDATE:  I just got a popup saying my local files conflict with Steam's cloud save.  What ya know, you were right.  Never seen that happen before.  Popup asked me if I wanted Steam's files or Local files.  I chose local.

I did not know you could delete from New Game.  Thx that fixed it.

  9. I loved the expressiveness of animated signatures on gaming forums.  But it obsolete now.  I think it may have been the advancement of cell phones that killed it.  Or people playing on potato computers.  I don't really know why there was a movement to get rid of all animated gifs from forums signatures - EVERYWHERE - but especially gaming forums.  I was okay with the advanced forum options where you could shut signatures off if you did not like them.  But NOOO that wasn't enough for some people.  So they ruined my favorite pass time = creating animated gifs.

Here is a ylands forum sig I will never use but hay I cannot stop myself from making them.  Still stuck in the era in my mind when they were considered cool to have.
