    Day off Challenge- Caliga Hall

Here's another outside shot of the plantation. I've used Ice Blocks harvested from my polar outpost to create a very appealing roadway. I also have planted and grown some ornamental palm trees to flank the entrance.

    Day off Challenge- Caliga Hall

-My new Expedition Office is now taking shape! It's here that I plan my adventures, craft potions and display my Egyptian artefacts. -A display cabinet dedicated to the treasure I've found over the last few months. -I always try to keep the first Flint Knife I craft when playing a fresh exploration map. The sentimental value I have placed on this one is very high! I crafted it back when 1.5 first started! -Here is a view of the upstairs parlor. This is a large room accommodating my gun cabinet and it is located adjacent to my Study through the curtains. It still needs more decoration! -And finally, I finish this update with another angle of the main atrium. As the Barrier will soon be a thing of the past, I have decided to encase it in a display. -That is of course if it doesn't despawn when 1.6 arrives! Thats all for now guys! Thanks for following this thread! Ill upload more screenshots of the developments going on outside! In the meantime, i have a lot of landscaping to do!

Energy Heaters: “How effective are they?”

I wanted to fit some heaters under some floor panels to radiate heat inside an underground room. It looks like I may have to suspend the project for now.

Energy Heaters: “How effective are they?”

The fact that heaters can damage and burn objects is also a mighty turn-off too. It definitely makes me more reluctant to use them in case random free-places objects combust whilst my back is turned!

Ah yes! I was having a toss-up over which plantation I was going to base my home on. I loved the red brick effect that Caliga had over Oak Alley. That being said, I would like to try to design Oak Alley if not as a residence, but for the challenge!

    Day off Challenge- Caliga Hall

I got an early finish at work today 'being Friday of course'. So with the extra time I absolutely blitzed construction of Flintlock Hall and whilst there is still much to do, I have finished the two bunkhouses. My car is also complete and I've even added a neat looking entrance true to the appearance of Caliga Hall in RDR2. I now look forward to the release of 1.6 so I can do some much needed landscaping prior to planting crops and laying some roads. Overall, Id say the current state of my ranch looks great!

With the upcoming terrain-smoothing tool I will be able to sculpt good looking roadways and fields where I will begin to cultivate and export Tea Leaves! =D

    Day off Challenge- Caliga Hall

Lots going on this morning! I'm busy building the two bunkhouses that flank the manor. These houses will accommodate my crafting stations, resources and 'if anyone's interested' accommodation for plantation employees and ranchers. Thanks for your interest in this project. After a number of incarnations Its actually brought me a lot of pleasure to finally start building my permanent residence in this format.

Dev Diary #168 Fun with vendors

This upcoming trading mechanic scratches an itch with satisfying results! I look forward to trying it out within the next few days! Well done guys!
  10. Hi guys! Can any of my fellow Explorers help me get hold of some items from random encounters? I have been looking for them for ages with no luck! I’ll happily pay in gold ingots to whoever will trade with me. Golden Crown Golden Staff Stone Male Bust Let me know if you have them and we can organise a meet up to trade! Thanks!

Ladies & Gentlemen! It's still a work in progress. But my home is really taking shape! I'm delighted to show you the interior of Flintlock Hall! Enjoy! -Front view of the hall at night. Car still under construction! -Main atrium/hallway. I have a number of display cabinets that I'm going to populate with a number of collectables and relics =D I have free-placed a torch in each cabinet to illuminate the contents at night. -Another example of a cabinet found upstairs. The Iron Man Armour set is still one of my favorite display pieces! -The dining/conference room. I used the Desk Lamps to great effect as picture lights! -A large display cabinet found in my private study. More pictures of the study to be uploaded later! -For my final picture and in honour of a particular Community Manager, I present the Snellgrove Lounge! All I need now is the Male Stone Bust to put on display and it's complete! Thanks for your interest guys! Hopefully when 1.6 implements some reliable protections on this map I will be happy to have the doors to Flintlock Manor swing open to any and all visitors from our Ylands Community!

I was so lucky! Not only did I find the perfect jungle continent, but it’s also home to Artyen the NPC. He’s my favourite merchant as he has the best selection of traceable resources. My home is now finished! I’ll post screenshots shortly!

    First Person Camera

You can also use the command: /fpscam enable that will give first person until you chose to disable it.

    Dev Diary #167 Fixing Exploration

This is the funniest (and pettiest) complaint I have ever witnessed on this forum! Who let the local Mumsnet representative in? @Aleš Ulm, I understand that as a representative of your company, you have to consider everyone’s opinions. But my god...’cough’.... I mean, my goodness! Please don’t think we’re all so sensitive! I’m an engineer with two kids, trust me when I say that UK Breakfast television has worse language than the Ylands Streams! You guys have nothing to apologise for in my opinion!

I’ve managed to generate the perfect ‘continental’ tropical island to build my plantation on. It took approximately Thirteen Minutes between selecting the structure from my blueprint catalogue to it actually loading the placement ghost! It took a further 5 minutes to render the blueprint outline after I placed the Projector! I might have made this beast a little bit too detailed! I spent a good solid morning grinding about 7000 wooden logs with approximately 5000 stone and other bits and pieces still to go! It’s looking great though! I’ll post some progress photos soon! I look forward to inviting you all over!

Dev Diary #166 - Editor and Exploration

That’s great news regarding the release in China Aleš! I never thought I’d get excited over something as simple as a rake! (My wife insists that gardening is strictly my part of our marriage!) I look forward to seeing what you guys are cooking up for building creation. I can also relate to your intention to use the Script Editor as a learning tool. Whilst the Script Editor is definitely not my play style, I admire its accessibly and even this old dinosaur learned a thing or two from it! I think you guys have created something that schools will find extremely valuable. With the release in China on the horizon, will we be able to meet up and connect with the new fan base on Exploration 1.5? It would be good to meet new players on our adventures, even if there is a potential language barrier! ?

    The Lands of Evanar

Looks great mate! The way you’ve presented the character interface makes it look like a totally different game!

    ★YLANDS ORIGINS★

I can't believe I haven't played this game properly until recently. I really enjoy the community you guys have here. The feeling of intrigue when I discovered the crystal cave was something I haven't felt since I explored my first Dwemer ruin in Skyrim! I've spent a lot of time here building my little home on the far western coast of the spawn island overlooking the crossing to the next landmass. Great job guys! If i only had one criticism it would be that the green-illuminated loot dropping points don't function and that most of the seabed is too shallow for ships. It's not an issue for me however as boats are definitely my thing!

Dev Diary #163 - Future of the Barrier

Great news and an interesting read! I’m curious about setting world rules. Will this mean that I could freeplace a load of items in the knowledge that they won’t be picked up or stolen?
  23. I've seen this particular random encounter for a while now. It's known as the Ritual Circle from it's original compilation in editor, but after much investigation and experimentation I still don't know the solution! I've researched every rune for a hint toward what object needs to be placed on each plinth with no success. There is definitely a mechanism here that I'm not seeing however, as if I were to remove the raw meat from it's plinth, then the brazier would extinguish until I replace it. Can anyone help me with some solutions, It's driving me crazy!

Random Encounter- Has anyone figured out this yet?

Is that actually it!? I’ve definitely overthought this! The reward better be worth it! ?

    Kitted out Kayak

Hi guys! The Kayak is now my new favorite toy! I've spent longer than I should kitting it out with useful and appealing decorations! I've cunningly attached an anchor onto the Kayak to stabilize it whilst I add my bits and pieces as well as to prevent theft!
