Yeah it seems after giving it a try, its just as borked as I expected. My controls were reset to default, and having set them to my liking, only half work. I suspect that maybe some keys were hardcoded but still left in the key config as being changable.

Should I even bother starting a new world now? When is the next update when this will be 'finalized' as the game puts it?

It's been awhile since I have played so I reinstalled and started a new single explore map which lasted all of 5 mins before I started mining and fell through the world and died of freezing.
