Map is now easier to craft (leather, not paper)

I just want to point out that leather is much more rare than paper. Animals are not respawning (at least what I experienced) so leather is not a renewable material and there are few animals on one yland (I even found one yland with nothing but seagulls and crabs). Paper is made from trees which are everywhere and are easily replanted. I know that you need Cooking Pot and Paper Press to make a paper but I think its still easier to get than leather. But its true that its quicker to get and that could be practical in Explore scenario.

    1. Fishing Rod with Bait can be made with Fishing Rod + Oyster Meat. I made myself a Fishing Rod a then I saw I have to make a brand new one if I want to attach a bait on it.
    2. Size and number of crafted items showed in crafting tab. For example with Log Cross Joints (but there is many more blocks like this) you have to craft both variants to see which one you actually want. If the size is showed in the inventory why not in the crafting? And with arrows (and many more items) you do not see how many of them will be crafted from required material. You should exactly know what are you going to craft before you craft it.
    3. Retreable arrows. Ability to pick up fired arrows sticked in targets or even in the ground would be nice. :)

  2. I will build the best dock for my upcoming ship. :D And I already did some preparing on this update, but there is one (maybe even more :P) thing I coulnd't figure out. How do you make flippers?  O.o They are usually made from plastic or some rubber, but there is nothing like that in Ylands as far as I know. :)

  3. I just want to show off my todays work because I think this was my most productive day in almost year of playing. xD

This is my... well, I'm sure you can already tell. :P

See my other post if you are wondering why is that steel arch messed up: link to the post (it was a lot of work to get it at least like this)

And my bedroom. ^_^ I'm going to work on it more, but that's enough for me for one day. :)

  4. Steel Arch and Steel Half Arch are incredibly buggy in every scenario, on every yland and everytime. In maybe two of three cases it becomes passable after placing and neither other blocks recognize its presence. You are unable to destroy it even with Annihilator. Plus after this happens you are often unable to place it down again (not that already placed but a new one) with error message THE OBJECT MUST TOUCH ANOTHER OBJECT OR TERRAIN.

As I said it happens for me everytime, but if you need: output_log.txt

Fixed the issues where under some circumstances holes appeared in the terrain (this, however, won't affect already saved games where the holes need to be filled in by dirt manually, via Terraformer or from Editor)

    Great news! :D

It was a little too close last time. But on the other hand, I'm getting better with terraformer. xD

You can repair tools by having a repair kit in your inventory

I personally think that repair kits are not really useful for repairing most of the tools. Too many things required to craft something that will boost durability of an item. I prefer dismantling them and crafting all of them (or most of them) again. Maybe if you could repair them at workstations for some little cost and leave repairs kit for traveling purposes? :)

  7. Thanks for the riddle! :D Its a lot more fun than just a simple answer. :P And I think I solved it.:D  I will try it at home. And one question... Will we be able at some point to use our paddles? That ones that came with Wild West update looks nicer than those simple, plain wooden ones. :)

  8. Did you created a way to craft propeller pack in Explore scenario on purpose? Because it looks like a faster way to travel then the rafts. :P:D

  9. I recommend you to use clay bricks to build a home. :) It looks nice and its really cheap. You can get hundreds of clay(s) from one vein. Its much quicker than wooden houses. Or you can collect lot of grass and break it to get forage. And make your shelter out of that. But that doesnt look so nice... :P

  10. So I was sawing down a tree and how the tree was falling it bugged me in some way and my avatar got the falling animation. After a moment I just died... :/ Luckily I copied save file to my One Drive before playing so I hope I lost "just" a few hours and not the entire world. Can I also ask if you plan to add option to save the game? :)

    Output log if needed: output_log.txt

  11. Why we are unable to set anything about an Explore world? We were able to adjust height of an yland, number of Places of Wonder generated and now I cant even name it? O.o Or am I the only one with this issue? I click on PLAY, then EXPLORE and I can set how my avatar looks. Then the world starts to load. :/

  12. Let me share my opinions on your points :)

    •  Well, now I know that I can use CTRL for splitting stacks, which is something that can be useful xD
    • Something I totally agree with. It took me hours to figure out how to craft various important items or how to correctly use tools (for example that its a lot smarter to use saw instead of an axe to chop down trees or how to use knife to gut animals). Tutorial yland is a nice place, but I think that more "pop-ups" for early players could be even better thing. Ylands is a very complex game and players are left there to find out what they can do. Which can be fun, but sometimes it's even annoying.
    • I actually enjoy most of the animations. With nearly every update there are some new animations in the game. I play Ylands for almost a year now, and there are still many animations I haven't seen yet. Of course it's something that can be worked on in the future, but I can clearly see the progress that have been done already. :)
    • I can't judge this. Not with my old crashing computer. I have to play Ylands on lowest details and it still runs poorly. But so does the operating system. :P:/ That is going to change after Christmas (or I hope it will) so I will see all of the beauty in Ylands. ^_^
    • I'm not absolutely sure what do you mean. I really like the hotbar. I'm okay with inventory and crafting panels. Only thing I don't like now is the health bar. That's something I hope to see changed and improved one day. :D
