No

Once you have the one of the basic materials needed to build a certain item then that item's crafting recipe will show up in your crafting menu. For example if you craft a pole using sticks and a knife a loom will show in the crafting menu.

Hey all,
If anyone is looking for some people to enjoy the game with right now, we have a group going right now

I am not a dev but I do run the most active Ylands community and I noticed our servers saves get corrupted after about 50 hours of total user playtime. However, every little update has been greatly reducing that number. First it jumped to 70 and now I feel like its pushed past 100 hours on average. Great strides are being made. Hold on, this game is in alpha.
If you want decently managed servers to play on hop on Discord and get the server pass for our P1 dedicated. We save progress often and copy over well made buildings from save to save so people keep their progress.

They go corrupt after a while.

I just played on an official server after a long time doing personal hosting and I noticed they are really no good at all.
Problems:
Freezes when picking up items
Frozen animals
Freezing when people join
At the same time I have noticed the player base of the game shrinking fast. We need to do something!
1) I am gonna try to put up some better public servers for the sake of the game.
2) If you have a PC that could host a server, please do so. I don't want to see people leave due to the server lag.
3) Please Ylands team, less servers and more resources per instance!

Putting dirt on a ship flips a ship upside down and sometimes crashes the game.

Thanks Seraph! Thanks to people like you who go out of their way to welcome people and make them feel at home, lot's of people are becoming part of our little family
I should mention that we allow trolling Sir Chess... just no one else

I thought we could work together to make a list of all the questions common to new people and make an FAQ!
Q: How do I light a torch?
Use a flint lighter & light it via the crafting menu.Ask your noob question

We use an "End Game" trigger box to end our mini games.
Sadly servers which feature End Game shut down at the "end" of the game.
1. "End Game" is triggered.
2. All users are kicked from server with this message:"Joining restarted session 'Waiting for session'"
3. If the host is AFK and does not choose a new character the server remains shutdown for good!

Nice, odd combo of specs

Ylands Dedicated Server Update:
Ylands Dedicated servers are MUCH better than they used to be. Here is what you need to know!
Pros:
- You can host them without running the game
- They are much more stable than before
Cons:
- No linux support yet
- Still confusing to setup
- Active servers must wipe to reset progress
- Requires 12 GB ram
Need help setting up? We love to help people: https://discord.gg/NPzzRF9
Ylands is a small community right now but the 0.7 update is coming soon with more than 100 bug fixes so stay tuned for that!
For full disclosure, my clan is now sponsored by Nitrado:
After buying a motherboard to host locally, I went with Nitrado for $8 a month and found it a much better solution for me.
How do I get the server tech?

Been apart of this community for a little over a week now, and here are a few things I can tell you about my experience so far. The discord is super active 99% of the time there is at least a few people on (and willing to help) even if there not in the game. the server almost always has people on it and in the event the server is down. it is easy to find someone willing to host a server so people can play together.
P1 from my experience is very people oriented, friendly, and helpful. if your looking for a mature friendly community that care about it's people you have found the right place.
Thank you so much Trilock, the community is great because of people like you who go out of their way to:
1) Welcome new people
2) Be a team player
3) Grow the community

Dedicated server renting cannot be a thing atm since maps corrupt after about 50 hours of playtime (all user data combined). The host would need to reset the servers often.

Type /unstuck 1 to go back to spawn

Is there a way to place indestructible signs via the map editor?
-
Is there a way I can disable PVP on my server?
-
I climbed up an outpost ladder only to be teleported to the outpost of another island...
Edit: SOLVED Any good videos explaining how to use the editor?
