  1. Found there is also all these.. I haven't found how to craft them yet but there is more than listed below and you use and build with them in editor.  Just open your exploratory save in editor, find a spot you want to build it and do so, then save. Poof.... You have it in your exploration build.  looks like the Katana and Samurai armor stand has been removed from the game.

Just wondering where to find oriental stuff.. I've been playing this since it released on steam and I love it so much! I found out right away that there are oriental items!

I've already made oriental chests plenty of times. But I don't know how to make anything else oriental. On top of that, I'm not sure if any oriental structures spawn... I've never found anything anywhere! Are there oriental structures you can stumble across?

Will my oriental dreams ever come true?

    Hmmmm...

There is a samurai armor stand.. Only thing I have seen Samurai Armor Stand.png

hold shift while moving in editor mode, it will make you move fast. Becareful not to fly too fast, because things need to be loaded in your screen, you will miss your island if you going too fast.  not in creator character.

Thank you.. I found out last night by accidently hitting shift.

  4. ^^ Exactly what I would do. As far as using the editor. I've had to use it a couple times to replace things. Only downside is you don't move very fast in editor and you start from your spawn island. If your house is far from that have fun finding it cause you can't open the map. At least I haven't found a way to open the map.

I visited one ...found   a bonfire with items left around.... fought of  a polar  bear  and  3  arctic  wolves ... they  made  cool looking clothing...   saw a cave  full of  mutant penguins  but  dared not  enter...  i was low on ammo  for my crossbow.

I am sure there's other things ...you can harvest  snow... possibly  for  alchemy ... ?

But they do have  steep  cliffs and  there's always the risk of  falling  and  death  ..if you don't  freeze  first!

    :D

I haven't found the use for snow or ice yet.. Anyone know what they could be used for?

well i would but combination locks don't work on chests and safes, i need to know before i do it if i break my chests with the items inside if i can get the items back

I don't play multiplayer so I was just shooting in the dark. How about hiding the keys before your trips. I bet you can come up with something creative

Curious for some extra information if that's okay please?

    Regarding single player:

Is your save game old or new? My map is a save from the first couple days of launch.

Is your most commonly used area, cluttered, lots of debris or spawns / placed items? I keep my island pretty tidy so there is no debris but I do have a lot of things built on my home island.

Is your FPS dropping during certain instances or in certain locations only (in a cave, on a horse, on a boat, in your house or build area etc)? Yes there are certain locations such as right when I go into a forest or islands are showing up from a distance and of course when I am moving around all my built stuff it is almost consistant maybe 20 frames. It is not unplayable by any means and I anticipated lag again. To be honest I really don't know if my computer is good or not so much. It is a Acer Predator 17 laptop with and I7 and a GTX 970M. They sell still for about $1,600 on newegg.com. It should be able to handle this game I would assume.

Is your ship your home with a lot of placed objects on it? I really don't have much issues with my ship cause all I have on it is 5 sails and a couple chests.

If a brand new save game file, provides you a higher FPS average, some of the above may be the causes, as the game has optimisation to be done, it starts off pretty smooth generally, but there does seem to be some issues with loading / unloading memory - seemingly effecting the performance - akin to a memory leak. I think this will likely be ironed out in the optimisation phases.

    Regarding multiplayer for those interested:

I'm sure as the development progresses forward, any noticeable network spikes or lag issues will be addressed and resolved. They have already made fairly large leaps and bounds to this regard, I'm sure it's up there on their priorities list!

  8. I agree with 95% of that.. Good write up. Put some of those ides in the suggested section of the forum!  Also to answer one question you will spawn on the island you die at except the polar islands. They do this so if they respawned you on the polar island you would just die again and again from freezing to death before you can find your body.

So you can never be to careful on this game specially when hosting public games with the biggest map, however, to be safe i made a key chain about 10 keys i locked all my safes, and everything i have build base door ect, i was out far trying to uncover more of the map looking at my map while 6 wolfs jumped me i died, fair enough but now all my stuff is locked and i dont have my key chain, and i cant find my body, can we pleae get bound keychains so if you respawn that could be the only thing you keep, i think it is pretty important to have this addition to lock all your stuff up chests ect, but if you die you are screwed if you cant find your body.

why don't you use combination locks so you don't need keys? You are right though something needs to be changed.

  10. I ended up going into editor and make it so it goes below ground just to get an idea how big a tunnel system was on my starting island.. I thought I went through it all to find out I barely got through half of them. I saw a lot of crystals and animals I missed. It just told me I need to go through all my tunnels again cause I bet a lot of them I missed a lot of stuff.

NOOB question.  How Do I eat.  I am starving and can't find the right keys to accomplish.  Other things, inventory management,, etc.. to get my knife I currently use "i" for inventory then weapons filter then click then equip..... Something tells me there is a quicker way to arm myself.

don't feel bad.. I came from the consule world and I had these questions myself..

  12. I was able to find a huge cavern in ione of my caves finally. I just dug done lol.. I was able to gather over 100 ylandium from that massive cavern.  mixture of bears, alphas, and wolves.  I would have died in a heartbeat if I didn't have my flying potion. I just flew right above them and used a spear.  Tons of Ylandium crystals too. Plus there is a way to see through walls to find out where extensions to caves are at but I was trying to not do that. I was ready to put the game down for awhile cause I've done everything else pretty much.

Well I gave it a few more hours but no new corrupted animals spawned, and I found no new Ylands.

I had to end up spawning in 5 pieces of Ylandium dust in the Editor, so I could at least build the Charging Station.

I really think something must be rebalanced - to be able to find only a total of 25 dust on the entire map is ridiculous considering the number of things that can be crafted with it.

I tried doing that but they didn't show up in my explore after I saved it in editor.. maybe I have to play with it again.

In the Main menu there’s the Editor option, once you’re in this mode go to File and then open the save file. Find the dead body, click on it, and then press delete. Save the game and exit back to main menu. Continue the game as you would normally, don’t click the file with the icons in the corner as this will open the save in editor mode again.

I just tried it and I don't thiink that works anymore cause I can't open the save.
