  1. I am lucky i had another forum page opened so i can post this here, for now and since a few hours, Ylands.com is not reachable, and here is the error message i get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file, expecting variable (T_VARIABLE) or heredoc end (T_END_HEREDOC) or ${ (T_DOLLAR_OPEN_CURLY_BRACES) or {$ (T_CURLY_OPEN) in /home/ylands/data/app_forum/community/datastore/widget_topicFeed_rtgohtpd3_a49cee6ac21cea8233660a594161d005.b12cf54ad8.php on line 4

That means if i try the HOME button, i also get this same result.

  2. Yes, same here about the discoloring of some objects on ships or boats.

As for the unattached parts, i strongly recommend to first create your vehicle either in creative or explore, it will be irregular and not too pretty because of the waves (in case of the boat), but you are here SURE things ARE attached, then bring that game into the editor, and fine tune each part by moving/rotating it as you really wish to clean it all up, then you can save the composition and bring it back to a creative, for example, so that you can easily repaint all objects with original colors, then back to editor, save composition again, and now you are good to bring it wherever you want, normally... =)

  3. See, today when i logged back in that MP game, i have had the dipleasing surprise to find myself slayed by "player" s Sword, i wont give names here, but i find that most disgraceful, that poor fellow even killed my horse, i could see his hide and meat close to me, i mean what is the fun in being so blatantly stupid?

This was the same server where no cotton could be found on the starting island because the same guy had it all harvested and hidden in his personnal chests, as he confided to me, i was lucky enough to find ONE plant of cotton inside a tree after cutting it, i rerpoduced it for hours just to make sure the island would be full of it again, i spent a good amount of time making sure of it, planting over 200 cottons back on this barren place to give a chance to other newcomers to be able to leave this ugly place before to build my Total Survivor Boat and flee to the furthest island i could find, where i made myself a cosy cave, but forgot to place that orb thingie. Now i find myself killed by the same unpleasant character that hides all the cotton in his chests.

Conclusion? Avoid MP !!! It s for griefers and bullies!

  4. All these stories about killing, two on one shooting, slaying offline characters, are so close to school bullying, that it gives me the creeps. Creating and cooperating is so much more interresting, enriching, enlightening even. Shooting before talking sounds to me like a very bad way of doing things. It s brutal and primitive. A server should always precise if it is PVP so that there is no mistaking for players who just want to be nice to eachother, because nowadays, i think it is important to be brotherly more than anything. Isnt the world crazy enough that we need to reproduce it s madness when we play games to forget about it?

A small question: we can not put the game in French yet?

Yes you can, in Steam, go to your Games Library, find out Ylands, right click on Ylands in the list of games, and choose Properties, here go to Define Launch Options (définir les options de lancement), and once in that little window with room to type a line of text, simply write "-translator" there (without the "quotes") and press OK.

Next time you will launch the game, you will be able to pick French Language in the options.

    Have Fun =)

  6. For now we mostly have the very basic skin tones and only a very few "original" hair colors.

Since we have access to a very detailed color picker later ingame to colorize what we want as we want, why not use the same detailed color picker for the creation of avatars? That would allow for an infinite combination of variations fitting any taste, instead of only being able to be "normal" looking.

Thanks for considering, and possibly UpVoting and Voting...

    =)

  7. As stated in the title, the French Translation is almost perfect but... There are still some errors, and i would really like to help there on Crowdin, since i did help translate another game into French for over a year, following each new version and doing all the new dialogs each time, feeding the Glossary and proofreading, i am really qualified for this, and i love it too.

Need one example? ok, here goes, "Vacuum Tube" in French is now a "Vacuum Cleaner Tube"... when it should be a "Tube Of Empty" (literally).

    See, i can help.

  8. Here is the Review i got from the Translations Manager i worked for

"YadNi is an incredibly passionate person to work with. In my few years of working with him, he has single-handedly translated an entire game into French and mentored other translators to become more successful through knowledge sharing and contributing to a comprehensive glossary which more than 1,000 other translators benefitted from."

  9. Hello so i did find some words that are not correctly translated (in French) so far, how can i actively participate in the translation please? I have been an active translator and proofreader and french community manager for over a year on another game and would like to offer my help here too.

  10. I do love my all time favorite ever Outcast, the best first open world action rpg in the history of video games. (i am not talking about the new version that came out a couple months ago with a total graphics rehaul, i have not tried it as of yet, i am really partial to the original in it s 1.1 version). That game was never equaled by anything else in that category, the depht of the history, the richness of the universe, the quality of the soundtrack itself played by a philarmonic orchestra, and the character s voice by Bruce Willis himself, there has never been anything that crazy.

  11. While we re at it, expanding the idea a little further, since this game is all about navigating, and when we create a new game we have this little planet example, if a world was round, and we got further into techs, maybe eventually we could leave our origin planet on some low tech basic spacecraft (equivalent to a Boat) and start exploring the sea of space, with various types of planets, different kinds of climates, more precious ores, to build better space-Ships and go further to the center of the galaxy where the dangers would get even more... Dangerous... and towards an Epic End Game.
