Weather hazards

I love the weather effects in this game, but was wondering how it affects play? 

I think if lightning would strike and cause some damage then we would have to  make repairs. And also perhaps rain could raise the water level. I haven't experienced snow yet.

Right now it affects the character in the sense that you are not able to sleep under the rain, or you get cold because of it. Also, it puts out fire. When there are storms you can see how it affects the water too.
