Always an even number of Islands?

Thanks, to be clear it's not so much avoiding exploring on my own, rather the map is a little clunky and there comes a point where you think there *might* be one more island but it becomes a bit sketchy finding it when the limits of the world don't seem to be set as a square surround. I haven't played with the editor yet and didn't realise I could look at my current game in it, so may try that. =)
  2. So I was searching an abandoned tent (or similar, can't remember for sure) and came across a clay pot which I tried to open but instead it took the pot into my inventory. Inside were two pricky pears or may have been two stacks, not sure, but now it shows one but with a quantity of "0" and it never runs out. I can equip it to my hotbar and it acts as an infinite source of food, but as this seems kinda cheaty, I eat regular food instead =) I also found another clay pot later and this stacked with the first one, but it only opens one (as a three-slot container) in my inventory which just shows that prickly pear at quantity 0. Also pretty sure I can't set the pots down, they are stuck in my inventory, but I will double-check this.

Q&A video - ask us anything!

Having a blast in single player so my questions relate to that, haven't even touched multi-player yet! 1. Can the map be made so it can be zoomed fully out, to make it easier to see which areas of ocean have been explored and where discovered islands are in relation to one another? It's very "zoomed in" currently, and a little hard to use when a few islands have been discovered! 2. Will larger maps with more islands eventually be a thing? Or even infinitely, or at least on the scale of something like Minecraft? If this isn't possible, perhaps some way of taking your ship and resources to a new set of islands whereby you can't return to the old ones? (I'm aware some have mentioned a kinda DIY approach to doing just this!) 3. Might there be an easier way eventually of finding caves and caverns that are blocked off and you have to dig your way to, other than using the first person glitch? 4. Some ideas for items and devices: A geophysical aid in relation to the above like a Ground Penetrating Radar, also maybe a sonar system for mapping the ocean bed under a ship, such as that in Subnautica. 5. Are you working on a solution to a lot of mobs still getting stuck/glitched in the ground or scenery? 6. Any scope for some tougher baddies, perhaps bosses, or fighting NPCs? 7. Both my friend and I (and others so I have read) have good rigs but get frequent lag spikes in single player, sometimes for several seconds, which can be...problematic! These seem to increase as we explore further, which makes sense if related to autosaving (we don't litter a lot) but might there be a fix for this soon? Also is the game autosaving in case of a crash? As otherwise, it needs to be saved manually on exit similar to Minecraft, so is an autosave every few seconds really necessary? Perhaps a manual setting (rather than ini file editing) for the frequency? Ooookay that's more than I'd intended, Cheers!
  5. I'm sure I read this in another thread but can't find it now...I know there are 8-12 islands in single player exploration but did I read somewhere that they are always evenly numbered, so you get 8, 10 or 12 islands? I've found 9 so far, a tenth is eluding me and I'd sooner focus on making things or even starting a new game than slightly aimlessly trying to find an island that isn't there! Also having made my own "world map" of the islands I've found/explored so far by stitching screen grabs together in Photoshop, and starting to regret it partway through as it took over 50 shots, I was wondering if we will ever be able to zoom the map out fully, or at least a lot further? It's pretty disorientating how it is at the moment.
