    Grill and Pergola

Gee Red, I'm not familiar with the term: what do you mean " Rested" colors? It's not like I have any schooling for this sort of thing you know. It's only weeks ago that I was completely intimidated by the editor and I had almost no artistic abilities or inclinations at all. It was Stout and Chief who talked me into giving the editor a go! And now, look at me... I'm a monster! lol

    Love's Bed...

Yes! In the editor... Never underestimate the power of the AWNING! It's a simple cloth block but with 2 paintable surfaces instead of just the one. Most of everything I have been producing lately is made of them... Vast quantities of them! The Perfect Balloon, for example, takes 13,824 of them to be precise! To produce that much cloth [and it's just one cloth per Awning block] is labor intensive even with the power of the cube because cloth only stacks up to 10 per stack and our inventories are only so big ...You'd get carpal tunnel just filling up the Blueprint Project Table but I had no fewer than 34 spinning wheels and a dozen looms processing Sisal Agave into cloth at the rate of just 134 cloth pieces every 10 to 15 minutes. It's the editor that does the magic! It's the thing that enabled me to turn the blocks and rotate them into the complex angles and shapes that I desired to make The Perfect Balloon and even in this case to make my Jacuzzi ...It's entirely Blueprint Friendly you know! Now, to get the lights at the bottom and to make it so you can actually sit in it you'll need to mod it a little in Freecamera mode. If you're familiar with the " /freecamera" command there are some things you can still do in terms of building when you are in this mode. Decorating underwater is one of those things you can not only do but you can do it better in the freecam mode than you can any other way! Then to mod the Jacuzzi, you simply place a few glowing mushrooms and a couple of wicker stools into the cloth of the Jacuzzi. Get your paintgun out and copy to the colors of the cloth and paint the wicker stool. A bit of warning though: Do NOT attempt to repaint the Jacuzzi cloth blocks! They will not all be selectable and it will turn out horribly wrong without the benefit of an " undo" button to fix it.

    Love's Bed...

I haven't given up on the beds yet but I modded my Jacuzzi so you can actually sit in it like a real one. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198065153092/screenshot/959724006846709714

    Dev Diary #51

Water physics?! Is that the new surprise in development to be released in 0.11?

    Love's Bed...

True but the hitbox for the sleeping mat is just so small that it cannot be effectively hidden in the overall design and still remain functional.

    Love's Bed...

    That's funny.

    Love's Bed...

I wish they could. I tried to sneak a sleeping mat into the design but it wouldn't let anyone interact with it... The damned Sack [ a storage container] kept stealing the focus.

What does it take to run Ylands?

No, as I said, it runs fairly smoothly. I process 1,600 Sisal Agave into cloth per hour on this old rig... and no rubberbanding or crashes or anything we don't want. If this were Ark it'd be a different story though. Even PixArk runs pretty fast on it with no major hiccups! I only wish I could run Animallica on it but I'd be needing a much more powerful PSU and a better GPU for that.

Thanks, I really love your cabana set up! That really sets the mood...

What does it take to run Ylands?

Runs fairly smooth on custom settings where my load in distance is maxed and everything else is on minimum settings.

    Server Cleanup Utility!

With all the Tree Bark, Sticks, and Stones lying about is it any wonder the servers eventually grind to a halt after only a few weeks time? Stout Crusher mentioned it to me and now I'm mentioning it to you. We desperately need a Server Cleanup Utility! A way to keep our servers running fast as ever because they wouldn't have to allocate as many resources or remember quite as much all the time.

What does it take to run Ylands?

Damn, your rig is better than mine! Mine is an old refurbished Dell 980 with i7-870 Quad 2.93Ghz, a GeForce GT 630 w/ 2gb ram. dual display 1600x 900 1280x 1024 and only 8gb ram on the system. But I can't complain I only paid 100 bucks for it...
  17. Having purchased and built the official Ylands Blueprint called "Workspace" I felt inspired by the design of it and wanted to create a bunch of other buildings using the same shapes. I tried to make a composite of just the parts I wanted to use and I was immediately met with the big red letter restriction ...Something to the effect that you cannot make a composition from decorations or premium blueprints. Well, now Bohemia, Since that there "premium" Blueprint of your's was evidently added to the game to show off what could be accomplished in the editor and I have yet to find any way whatsoever to duplicate those same effects in the same editor why don't you enlighten us all as to how we're supposed to create perfect circular building designs like the one we see in "Workspace". You sell us the game and the "Premium" added content and then you restrict us from using that content to create the things we're supposed to be able to create for our entertainment in the game.

    Swimming Anyone?!

Yeah, I felt that way too for some time, and I placed my largest model pool just at my base on the desert Yland last night. At first, there was a lot of sand in the bottom of the pool and I dug it all out glitching the water in the process but somehow the water fixed itself and now it's becoming a thing of utter beauty! I still have a lot of work to do to dress it all up... Beach Sets to place with umbrellas and towels and deck chairs and such. But I also have to finish my part in this season's Industrial themed build... I am building the Home Deco store next door to the pool and the fisherman's hut.
  19. As a Blueprint which didn't include all the poles, I was making 1600 cloth an hour to build it but it proved to be too much for the server and I broke it. We had to abandon Season 10a, on Stout Crusher's server and begin anew with Season 10b in which he liked that balloon so much that he downloaded the comp and placed it at Spawn! Now, that Stout Crusher is a cool admin!

    Server Cleanup Utility!

Agreed, by all means! The Server Clean up Utility [SCU] would have to include this feature as an essential part of it seeing that this is of particular importance at Spawn where the body count can add quickly and quite literally shut a server down. Then too, the SCU would have to distinguish between player dropped entities and player placed entities to avoid inadvertently " cleaning up" of a player's items which are placed on the ground either for aesthetics or for lack of better storage. And it should also make an exception for mine drops and tree choppings so as not to rob a player of their freshly mined/chopped resources. It might even Clean up the Stones in excess of a certain number leaving Stone Chunks, Marble Chunks, and Sandstone Chunks in place. It may also clean up Tree Bark in excess of a certain number leaving Logs, Sticks and Wood Pieces in place and the " certain number" could be a customizable pre-set value in the SCU settings.
  21. I pride myself on making compositions that are " Blueprint friendly" but I find it most difficult to build Blueprints that are Server friendly! And whilst Red Eagle and the folks over at P1 are boasting about their many fabulous and megalithic creations that they supposedly built on their own MP Explore servers I can't seem to be able to even build a simple store [See screenshots below] without crashing our own MP Explore server. It's analogous to you being able to fill your swimming pool when I can't even take a bubble bath! Apparently, the file size is just too big.

    RESOLVED Multiplayer issues

Red Eagle and P1, I challenge you to prove that you've built all those big and beautiful structures on your MP Explore Servers and Nitrado servers at that too. No, the fact remains that you didn't build them there at all. You imported them as compositions! It's the ONLY way a server can handle all that information ... Projects of that size must be grouped together as a single entity. Something which never happens with Blueprints!

    RESOLVED Multiplayer issues

Let's be honest here the folks at P1 didn't build all those megalithic creations on their MP Explore Servers! No, I'm calling BS here and this is why...

    Blueprints are fun but dangerous!

For the most part, this build is "Blueprint friendly" ... No, the Pillow and the Cloth Pieces, and all the Stone Chests will not make it through the Blueprint process: I know that but this is part of my private collection! I have not uploaded it to the workshop... and if I ever do, trust me, it will be entirely Blueprint friendly. My point in all of this is that this is not a huge project. It is not megalithic in stature and does not have a huge footprint as compared to all that is supposedly created on the P1 servers... The ONLY way to bring anything so big onto a public sever is to either import it as a composition entirely [After making certain that everything in it is grouped together.] or to painstakingly build it all by hand in the game. The file sizes are just too big! The server has to track and remember where every single part and piece goes even if it's only a ghost outline that is not yet built. Project Tables don't remember anything on their own. It's all a part of the server operation and that can make a huge impact on an MP Explore Server and it's community.
