I build him an enclosure, but I would be glad if he wasn't so needy all the time. Haven't tried that yet. Cooked fish or cooked meat is great to reduce your hunger. Or you can cook your fruits, it makes them far better to eat. You can rotate building blocks and items on a different axis by pressing I believe "J" and "K". But don't quote me on that, I just press the buttons automatically when playing Ylands. So it could be some nearby key. EDIT: Ah, Khanecz was faster in answering by a few seconds!

updated survival tips for new Ylanders
Miguel Preguisa replied to kimbuck's topic in General Discussion
Regarding the sixth point, the new Paintgun is super effective help for marking different containers -
I think a renaming could make things more clear. I also first tried to add into the Material Container things in my inventory under the label Materials.

Congratulations! Have a nice time Ylanding!

Great that Kiln is now useful! On the other hand, I have to say bye-bye to my starter clay houses. It looks like now it's better to start with wood. Which is actually more realistic so I can't complain.

I tried my best at recreating a tennis court because I absolutely love that sport. Sadly, I wasn't able to find anything I could use as a tennis racket. I hope you will not mind

The first game I remember playing was when I was four or five years old (twelve years back). When I was sick at home and my brothers had to look after me they often let me play Yeti Sports. But GBA games came fast after!

RESOLVED Truly mysterious Yland
Miguel Preguisa replied to Miguel Preguisa's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Worldfile is here, but I'm afraid that I have no "common" folder in "steamapps". -
Hi! There's currently no way of buying Ylnds right now, but don't worry! It won't take long. Ylands will be available on the Steam at December the 6th. As for beginners tips, I suggest looking at this thread or this old series of guides from Gracekain (some things may have changed since then, but it should be mostly accurate). I hope you will have fun as a future Ylander!

I'm really glad I can be at the development of this great game. It has been wonderful two years full of fun. This was the first screenshot of Ylands I saw back in November 2015. Not long after that, I knew that this will be one of my Christmas wishes. It took me just a few days to find, read and watch every single thing published about this game on the internet. I was sure that this was the game I was looking for when discovering sandbox&survival games. I was not wrong. You are truly great team and I knew it from the beginning. Thank you.

You can cook your food even when it's not directly in the workstation. Just lay it down around a campfire and wait. But be careful not to burn it to a pile of ash! You can get rags for bandages really easy when in the wild. Craft Head Feathers from two feathers found in a nest and then destroy them in order to get some Rags. Now you can craft your Bandages and heal quicker.

I love customization. Everything I use frequently is highly customized. I think that Countless Colors update is the best update for me!

I use log or wooden desks in free placing mode (pressing "V") to push them around a little. It's little complicated but it works.

Today is a great day! Even if it's the 1st September

Hi to all of you! I hope that everybody who was present at Gamescom enjoyed it! I didn't have the luck so instead, I was further working on my project aimed to a multiplayer fun. And what else can be so intense and fun than a match of Hunger Games (at least for the viewers)? I said on a Discord that I want to have it done by the end of August. So here it is ready for some testing. The game is designed for 2-9 players. I was thinking about doing the "launch rooms" with elevator slowly showing you the arena as you rise up from the ground but there were too many complications associated with it so maybe next time. You will spawn on a quite small pedestal and as soon as the Player No1 (always needed for the game to even start!) activate the switch, a countdown for the start of the match will start. The Cornucopia is stuffed with many useful things such as tools, weapons, food, bandages and even some potions. I also modified the island a little bit in the Editor. More trees, many dangerous animals and no easy food for you. Remember, its called Hunger Games. I couldn't come up with an easy way how to add the "Sponsors" to the game so I have one question too. Should I make some interactive, not even mini as micro-games to compensate for the lack of the Sponsors gifts? Or leave it pure HG gameplay without any interventions but without useful sponsors help? I meant that the players would be hinted to do some action to get some item. For example, a tree with a sign "cut me down" where would some tool appear when he does it. What do you think about this? And as I have written, its ready for some testing. I could easily forget about something or maybe even add something that should be there. Too powerful weapon, waaay too many bears and so on. And I want to share in the workshop already finished game for everybody who isn't browsing this forum reguraly. So this is kind of a "pre-release". I would be really grateful for any feedback! The world file: Dropbox Download (I really hope it's the right world, I have a lot of files there ). Any question or feedback will be answered below in the comment section. PS: I have a time on whole Tuesday and Wednesday, so if anybody wanted to try it out with me send me PM or comment on this thread.

It should have crossed my mind. I will find some nice name for it! Even reading "Hungry Games" made me hungry... If you excuse me, I'm going to get some dinner
-
Good to know! I already got some ideas how to improve but not the time needed. I hope the school will start slow so I can play in the Editor
-
This is really just a pre-release. I can change anything before adding it to the workshop so feel free to tell me anything! If you see something bad even in the screenshots right away I will be more than glad to fix it.
-
I believe they stated somewhere that advanced painting various blocks is one of the features they would like to add to the game.
-
I'm not very experienced with the MP aspects of the game but I suppose that all of the consol commands will be (if they are not already) disabled for normal players on the servers.

You got me there for a second I don't usually play race games, but it looks like I will do an exception. Can't wait to test those cars. Have a nice time at the Gamescom and I'm looking forward to the (now even with better cars, thank you!) update.
-
I'm honestly glad that you didn't give us another release date. This way it can be a pleasant surprise. Every delay actually means another hours and days of you working on the game to be even better. So I'm absolutely okay with this (who wouldn't ) and I wish you as few bugs as can be possible. PS: How "strong" are those cars? Would it be possible to do something like jumps or even loops with them?

Really nice ship! Definitely trying it when the next update rolls out!
-
I love the night time pictures! I can see marking roads like this will become a tradition. It's really cool even in the day and now imagine the night race with some obstacles scattered around!

Great! Looks like the update will come as soon as I will be back at home. Can't wait to test all kinds of racing tracks! It's just shame that my holidays are already in half and I played Ylands just a few hours. At least I will have time now.
