Help with mystery island:What is this place in the Ember Island?
spiritchaser28 replied to TonyPearce's topic in General Discussion
Oh hmmm. I think you need the cogwheel you find on the island. Not sure if making one will work or not. Haven't tried that. -

If you look at the wall, you will notice it's missing a cogwheel. -

It is a volcano. You have to solve the island to cool it down. -
RESOLVED Trees and rocks float in midair

Is this on an older map? I have seen this before when an update occurred on one of my islands. It was like the land shifted. -
(suggestion) Make ships reverse faster if powered by engines.
spiritchaser28 replied to zarwil's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I vote for this suggestion -
I think everybody learns to dig fast and make fire when they are in colder climates. Shelter and warmth is crucial to survive in those first stages on those sorts of starting maps

May be an important asset for certain editor made maps. Good work

Well...on that note it wouldn't be called "Exploration" if everything was revealed. Editor made maps can reveal the entire map like @Mello1223 pointed out, but Exploration DLC is a different game, and it requires exploring. On a side note I believe it is planned in the future to have editor made maps available in sort of an "alternate dimension" of exploration.....but it will still be 2 separate games. Traditional exploration has PVP areas and it would be unfair advantage if the map owner had some advantage over the players visiting the map....But in the future plans of adding editor made maps to a second version of exploration it might be fun to explore in a different way.....with certain rules in place for each map....but I'm pretty sure they want to keep those sorts of maps separate from the original exploration/survival updates so people aren't just handed a ton of gold, resources, and overpowered weapons from the jump to carry into the actual survival game Hope that made sense

If that's not a fantastic hint, I don't know what is. Looking forward to that update for sure LOL!

I enjoyed shooting fish out of my cannons. Made me feel like I was in a weird Monty Python movie

Ales had talked about this once in a stream when the question was brought up about bones. Apparently in some Eastern cultures bones are offensive to some religions. It was sort of the reason they had them removed from the game...they are considering bringing them back, but the game is worldwide and for kids so they endeavor not to offend any particular people's beliefs. I think this is also most likely the reason we do not see cows and bulls in the game....in some regions around the planet they are considered sacred.

Better way to purchase Items
spiritchaser28 replied to Hunter-Over-Fire's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I agree.....I dislike taking the gold out of the pouch sometimes because it can sometimes use inventory space you need and what happens is you get things like a bunch of log shipments laying in front of Morten that you have to come back and pick up after you put the gold back in your pouch- 1 reply

RESOLVED Crafting Stations can't see the contents of Inventory Containers
spiritchaser28 replied to Hunter-Over-Fire's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Usually what I noticed with the workstations is it takes the fuel in inventory from the top left slot first moving to the next available fuel source after it has been depleted.....so my suggestion is if you want to use coal to fuel your workstations first, place the coal basket to the left of sticks and other fuel sources in your inventory -

And I have 3 of them full of supplies. Not had much of a chance to gather the new resources since the update though, but yeah the side pontoons are full to the brim with iron ingot, copper ingot, saltpeter, sulphur, clay, logs, stone chunks, etc....the flloors outside one side is all marble in containers and the other side is all sandstone.....inside the ship is of course where I keep the good stuff......a kitchen I could literally eat for months in, a few million gold ingot, ylandium crystals, and of course many rare items. I have one door in a pontoon with nothing but empty cabinets because I was planning ahead for this update. I can literally build a few million propeller packs without ever leaving the ship...although it would be sort of pointless except for trading purposes The main reason i designed it was because I have friends that usually make these enormous blueprints....sometimes they need 80 thousand glass, sometimes they need a hundred thousand logs and sticks, etc. -
Extra Inventory Containers
spiritchaser28 replied to Hunter-Over-Fire's question in Suggestions & Feedback
This is the main ship i use. It's got ample storage. Plus all the workstations except for the new ones in this video. Took me a lot of time to design, and @Mello1223 designed the side storage pontoons. pretty much every floor and wall and ceiling is cabinets. -

Can we make eating/drinking available while sitting?
spiritchaser28 replied to Igor Q.'s question in Suggestions & Feedback
I always loved sitting down at a table or around the campfire with friends and discussing things. I think this animation is long overdue. It sort of looks awkward standing up to drink and eat -
I was hoping the harpoon would at least do something or some underwater weapons would be involved in this update and we could have shark steaks for dinner. Making them invincible enemies seems a bit much. Bolt action rifles don't even damage them from above. At the very least let people defend themselves with other means than repellant. Or here's a fun idea....shark bait so we can tame and ride them underwater.

I believe you can repair it

Rants on the New Ship Blocks
spiritchaser28 replied to Hunter-Over-Fire's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I would disagree about the speedometer. I think it will finally settle the debate about top speeds of each ship and allows the players to know how many engines it takes to reach that top speed. I always felt sorry for players that spent all their resources building 30 engines on a catamaran when the top speed is achieved with only 3 engines. Also with the new damgae system in place the top speed goes down once the ship is damaged so it's a pretty good gauge of other ship issues that need repairing. -
Better Swimming Quallities

It used to be warmer.....not sure why they changed it. I agree it needs to have more temperature resistance to colder climates -
Ideas on a Sky Update
spiritchaser28 replied to Hunter-Over-Fire's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I know for a fact that Ales had mentioned adding flying vehicles to the game, but he also mentioned before they introduce flying vehicles they would like to incorporate some dangers to flying in the sky. The reason they nerfed the propeller pack was it made the game far too easy to fly around and not face any real threats. Maybe we will get dragons or pterodactyls or some other flying menace. Whatever they decide, I am looking forward to seeing it. The last update certainly introduced a ton of danger to being in the ocean, and it was well worth the wait. The oceans are now full of life and dangerous mysteries. I'm certain the skies will be part of a future update. It's all about balancing out the game now.- 1 reply
