After about 4 "yland days" the cube goes off.... you get the hungry ..freezing or drowning or too hot messages. Although its obviousl;y a glitch, its no big deal because I only use the cube to establish the basics and get quickly established ....... then its not used and i often store it in a locked safe.

This is my current project...its a dock and ship with anti theft additional measures The ship helm and anchor are padlocked ...but i have placed large wooden wing doors near the helm that when locked, they are horizontal. the dock has lockable doors either side of the exit ..which will foul those horizontal doors ...preventing the ship from reversing out of the dock. make sure dock sides are lower than the doors else the ship will react violently when you "open" the side doors .. ie lock them horizontal.

The current PVE1 map has lasted a very long time! Obviously the improvements and optimization are having an effect... and 0.12 indicates more improvements are possible. But whats the issue now is that spawn island is overcrowded with buildings..... some abandoned.....and also a flotilla of ships ... a lot not finished and creating a pool of lag. With discussions of a new map starting 'next year' ... thoughts are on how to make thing better... Sooooooo after a strong coffee, and some chocolate treats my other half replaced his Santa Hat with a thinking cap and came up with some suggestions. Already BB recommends that people be encouraged to move form spawn ASAP. and that would also help to weed out the "one-timers" from the serious creative players. The ideas from my side of the 'think tank" are as follows.. 1) make spawn island hard to build on, and as small as possible, with no clay or iron or cloth making resources. 2) Place there under a barrier, a help area surrounded by basic food ( ie bananas) and some sleeping areas, with flint, stone and grass for basic tools. 3) Place Conspicuous Notices around about the rules of the game, and requesting serious players to join the discord group to get advice on where to find resources etc. 4) A row of locked chests behind the help area, each chest containing basic materials to build a dinghy, and basic tools .. food and a fishing rod -and a map advising which directions to travel to find an alternative island. 5) Upon joining discord, the serious player who wants to continue , will get a code from one of the admin players to allow them to unlock one of these chests to get the materials for one ship. What this could achieve would be the the one-off players would not be able to leave spawn ..unless they survive the plethora of predators outside the safe area to gather enough materials for a small raft.. and therefore convince other players they are here to craft and create and not steal and destroy. Maybe this would work ?

Bought as an Xmas gift for my other half " Railway Empire" ( Hes a railfan nut-and bolt .. has a man-cave full of the stuff..) We are currently looking through that game ..he wants to use my computer with the bigger monitor and the imagery looks cool with the bigger graphics card and spare memory.

Let this be a warning to those who dare to infest the P1 server games with names that are not PG rated! If you choose an obscene name ... you might end up appearing as " Sugarplum Fairy" or "Peachy Sweet-cheeks" ...which might clash with your macho looking outfit of helmet and sword!

Ever consider the added threat to rafts etc by giant squid.... and perhaps lightning strikes in storms when on high places being lethal ?

Some players make a bad choice when it comes to naming their avatars. They don't realize that first impressions outweigh everything else, so if you choose a name of someone with historical bad vibes... you can get banned or such without doing anything.! Some name choices are obviously intended to troll .. they arrive at spawn and then log out, leaving the avatar with an offensive name prominently as a form of "advertisement" ...and they think its clever ( yawn). Ok --- these names might be ok on a PVP server full of people running around going " Bang - Bang ..you'e dead" and destroying anything they can. but on a PVE friendly orientated server... well expect that you might not be able to log in afterwards when the undertakers remove the bodies. Names really don't bother 99% of the players ...just dont expect to get the welcome mat laid out when you try to break into someones house/base/ etc. and you will be ignored, generally. However there are some really offensive names that will get you banned promptly... like the " N " word , or variations on genitalia or other sexual content. Currently on our spawn island we had a " Sh#tMaker" arrive ...well we don't need one of them, as we are quite capable of making our own! Sadly with the advent of school holidays, we can expect an influx of these pre pubescent names. and types... and not all of them will be kids! But to those with clever, witty or sensible names ... welcome! I saw a cartoon that reflected the nature of today's times... a baby was been shown to a young mother by the obstetrician... and he was saying to the new mother... " sorry, you cannot use the name "Sarah" as that has been taken .. but sara1279 or sarah.463 are still available"

I make it a practice of visiting spawn island to clean up the rubbish left by "once-lers" and to replace items pillaged by others. I get to see typical behavior... Firstly there are the ones who have read about the P1 servers here and come in to enjoy the community .. they are excited to be greeted, and often say " this is the first time i have met friendly people on a server ..." Then there are the ones who arrive...run around and "punch" everyone and everything.... try to enter every building and "punch " the doors if they are locked. They will pick up and remove plants from gardens ... and when you ask if they need help ... they run off and either hide in the forest ..or sit in someone doorway and go offline. Then there are the types who go to the help stations and take EVERYTHING from the help chests ..(eg 8 shovels 8 sades 8 axes 8 hammers 8 bedrolls etc.. and when all gone they then go offline somewhere .never to return. Of course you will get some with offensive names ... they arrive and never move from the spawn point, their intention is to be a "crude or offensive advertisement" Now ..if the devs could come up with some sort of "admin" power that could be deputized by the grid owner to certain players, then these offline for days trolls/etc. could be removed without having to take the entire server offline . But at least we do get some good people who come and stay! So drop into P1 pve ..look around ... ignore the corpses and rubbish and join us on discord so we can give you instructions/directions to find a lace to create and become part of a healthy community. There are notices around spawn landing point to help. Seeya there.

For a giggles i made a "devil ship' that will behave un-predictably when attempts are made to sail it ..or board it ----- It was placed near my docks just outside my protection barrier, and in a considerably safe place. I returned today to check things out and lo and behold .. the ship was gone ... ie "borrowed" .. despite the signage warning against stealing. A quick search of the island found the ship...stranded between two shoals where it got stuck and the "borrowers" couldn't work out the controls to move it ..so they abandoned it i wish i could have been on line to see them take it, as this ship has a "tendency" to travel in conflicting circles against the helm instructions I also have the idea of trying some scripting... where if you take the ship without disabling a hidden switch, a powder keg detonates under the helm ..ooh but then the thieves would accuse me of griefing! Anyway, if you going to visit my bases, behave and do not abuse the hospitality ... that room you try to break into or object you take might be your undoing

What happens on the P1 server! Its not all doom and gloom.. we get some players who arrive and want to create things. Here is a montage of some of the amazing creations the residents have built, with co-operation. Ignore the bodies of the one-off visitors who come to troll .. steal and wreck. These pictures show what a friendly community can achieve.

Is it school holiday time? getting waves of new arrivals ...usually in pairs who run around and jump and circle you then look in every container... steal plants .. then try to steal any ship .. and when they find things are locked ... they then look for a doorway or passageway ...sit down to block it and log out ... I now have signs warning theses immature visitors that if they have not moved after 24 hours ..( when server maintenance is due) .. they will simply be removed from the game. So they are not griefing or causing anyone any inconvenience ... just to themselves should they try to come back and find they are excluded from the server.

After a restart...it seems the server had a case of flatulence.. But the trees recovered after they got their second wind.....

I am currently watching the return of the vw "Islandz" ... the re-incarnation of " Inworldz". They just placed out a box of animations that give the gal avatars jiggly butts and bouncy boobs.... hmmm - i wonder if they are on the Ylands roadmap?

Blessed are the bald , for then there is no parting or dyeing... The dyeing stand seems to be glitched/cursed or under the influence of miscreant nuant bugs,,, - its stopped working after the last update. A temporary fix is to put the item on the ground and use a paint gun.. -

Decided on some fun ...i put a doorway and a locked door in a cliff face just inside my barrier...and so far in 2 days have had 2 visitors try to dig behind the door...outside the barrier... to access any tunnel or room underground. Of course there is nothing behind the door .....................................runs away giggling ..

I logged in to hear some fighting outside my door ... some guy had been trying to knock my door in... an useless attempt as the house was under PB! .. then then another Kid-iot ran at me and tried to kill me .. and was surprised hsi punches had no effect. I told him combat doesn't work on a pve server.. and he used the B... f.. words at me and ran off. poor vMax... he ran into the center of the island and i decided to follow to see what mischief he could get up yo ... but lost sight of him.... i could hear a wolf baying and headed towards it .. and alas... poor vMax ...was now in peaceful repose, resting in a pile of his stolen goodies with a wolf sitting on top of his corpse. What i find amazing is ... the server is advertised as non-combat and pve friendly...and there are signs all around spawn advising it ... you cannot miss them ... yet these kid-iots act like they didn't know,, There are non so blind as those who choose not to see....

I discovered by accident/experience that when you stand next to an object that's scripted like a chair/bed .. there's one side where you end up when exiting that objects use. if theres a wall only one block away, you get trapped in a state of trying to exit and cannot move. Its difficult to escape and i am not going to tell how ( work it out for yourself !) I built a chimney with a wide opening .. enough for an avatar to use an exploit.. but at the bottom i paced objects etc close to the wall so that their scripting interfered with the narrower space at the bottom. So when the exploit user dropped down my chimney, he ended up stuck between the wall and the nearby objects target area. Does it work? hahah yes .. look at the funny screenshot thread and see how "TheTerrorist" ended up like an obese Santa Clause " stuck in my fireplace.'! Seeing him stuck there has made my day.. As they do in "the Simpsons" ... you point and go HA HA! Psst server admins ... note his name ...he uses exploits ...do you want him on your server?

Griefer / thief caught in the act Ha ha ha ha! This guy called "TheTerrorist" tried an exploit to enter my house... But .... heheh I had a trap set in my chimney, expecting someone to use an exploit And the fool fell for it! Look at the screenshot and see the "wannabee Santa Clause" stuck in my chimney, on top of the brazier in the fireplace.. yes ! his name is the .. "TheTerrorist" ( Classic fail!) Maybe i should light the brazier.. "Chest-nuts roasting over an open fire" server admins ...note his name and ban him. hes been caught in the act and obviously uses exploits ... you don't want that type on a pve friendly server.

The current ship keels need a re-work to remove bugs ..termites and a myriad of other gripes... My suggestion is to have a flat bottomed rectangular shape, with the scripts etc included and an arrow to indicate which is forward. Then there is available a rand ge of add on sides, keels decks bows, sterns and maybe cabins? that the builder adds to the basic shape ...or if desired, create their own. This would make it simpler to build ships and bring in a wider variety, including more modern shapes. And also a chance to fix the current bugs and what-nots that plague ships

also , objects like lanterns etc when placed on a boat ... seem to " fall through " the structure and disappear .... if the boat is not moved they "may" re appear after a relog.... but sometimes i have sen lanterns and such that had disappeared, hovering in space above the water where the boat was ...and they are unpick-able
