They never stop or learn ... we just had a "ylander" visit our server and ran around killing the offline people.. but hes disappeared suddenly and I could not find him ... i think i know where he is ... well his body - hes offline ruing his curiosity hahaha
-
What you need to do is get a discord channel and then share on it to other players'groups the names of the griefers. The unique Ylands name should help here. However, to protect the innocent and collateral damage, list what they did as proof. We had Emily who stole a PB ..but was caught by a shark as she tried to swim out into the ocean to dump it, and the PB was recovered. We had Conan, who killed an offline player and looted his gear, then tried to steal my PB, and was later caught stealing from baskets despite being warned. He is also believed to be responsible for cutting down all the trees around other players bases -he was the only other onlline player for several hours ... and this was most likely his revenge. Expect more to arrive ... they don't learn ... Sadly it the nature of some people.

RESOLVED [YLD-10487] Disappearing workstations, objects cannot move from inventiry to a chest etc, and digging produces no soil or rock/marble
kimbuck replied to kimbuck's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
@DanielCoffey : Nothing was appearing either on a ledge or anywhere.... the area was clean! I scoured around looking for stone chunks or dirt ..nothing !! - but after a complete exit and rejoin the area that was clear earlier was now littered with rocks and soil! ... I then went back to my workroom and tried to craft items ...a lot was not appearing in the crafting menu ..i was trying to craft some stone edging for the top of the walls but i could not find it. So instead i decide to craft a tanning rack and a weaving loom I typed in tannery and could not see it in the crafting menu, but i was told i could craft one..which i did and placed it ...and it promptly disappeared! Undaunted i tried the weaving loom ..again search could not find it anywhere in the crafting menu, but i was told i could craft one...which i did ..and placed iy next to where the tannery rack should be.... and yes! ! soon as i clicked place ..it too disappeared. I know they are there and invisible...so they will probably be there after i rejoin ..but after 8 rejoins in an hour ..i had enough for tonight! Lets see what tomorrow brings... More logs for perusal and swearing at attached... output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt -
One should not be able to chop down trees inside someones else's PB area... but they did here ...and we found out the exploit they used! We will not post it in these public forums, but ANE has been urgently advised by PM. Another griefing tactic will bite the dust!
-
A Thank you to the griefer who obviously spent ages chopping down all those trees... we now can replant 3 times the number ..and where we want them ...and have enough wood to make a flotilla of ships! A case of serendipity!
-
Ok logged in to a mess! Apparently a lot of the trees cut down were inside the area of a protection barrier... !! I did not know others could do that? Anyway this is obviously another form of non aggressive griefing... all my cotton was ripped up too and banana plantation destroyed. As its a public server we can only guess who did it, but we did have issues with a "Conan" earlier... but no direct proof. Could have been any dingbat visiting then leaving. Here are some screenshots showing that your trees inside your Protection Barrier are not safe from " they are Lumberjacks and they are not OK "... ( sorry Monty Python )
-
well if he cut down all those trees... gather up the seeds and replant them threefold. Really, some people..
-
When you place out your protection barrier, do not leave it unattended while you check it boundaries. We have had i case and one attempted case of someone hiding nearby ..racing out and stealing it before its turned on. In the first case the thief swam off with it but ran into Bruce the shark ..and the owner was able to retrieve their PB from the shallow water after persuading Bruce to leave The second attempt occurred when my back was turned for a minute and someone jumped from the water and ran towards the not yet activated PB ... however i beat them to it and turned it on.... they then fled. Sooo. be wary... check who is online first ( use enter /who ) and make sure no ones nearby to pilfer your barrier. This is not a new thing ..i once found someone deceased by wolf ..next to a wicker basket ...inside the basket were 4 Protection barriers that were not his

The Ylander climbed the mountain, to see what he could see.. And what did the Ylander see? He saw another mountain, that's all that he could see. The Ylander climbed that mountain, to see what he could see... (repeat lines 1 to 3 until news about the update arrives ) Meanwhile ... can we have some new fresh body rinsed games on some servers until then ?.....

Wonderful idea.. Palm frond roof ... please? How about an Australian Aboriginal shelter...... simply bark pieces leaning against a tree trunk ... or as in the Philippines a 'Bahay Kubo" ...a small hut made form bamboo and covered in Palm fronds. This would be something simple for a new arrival to shelter in the first few nights while collecting resources for a bigger build If there were panels available made from Bamboo only one layer thick that could be placed at a 45 degree angle against a vertical support ( tree, cliff face)... that would be great. I can see issues though, with avatar height collision.. but that's a new challenge for the programmers

The current servers are just a guided tour of cemeteries and depleted wastelands... with the occasional griefer running around looking for someone to harass/slaughter pfffft! We need something to occupy our brains ... If 0.9 doesn't arrive today sometime, i will be reduced to tears looking at youtube videos of funny cats or Russian drivers smashing into each other while trying to read the road rules.. or for a change... funny cats driving Russian cars on Russian roads?
-
I recall reading somewhere .. that the area covered by the Protection Barrier is to be increased...is that happening...and if so, with 0.9?
-
I am worried the milk inside my refrigerator will turn to yogurt before 0.9 arrives.. Resetting means that once a day ( or week) they go offline, clean out the dead etc , remove junk files and restart the server with the same map etc, and its back to the same ... but what we are thinking of is that the servers be reset entirely, the old games/map wiped and replaced with a new one... This usually happens when there are major coding changes that introduce ( or delete) certain features. I assume the new ylands names etc and other features ( blueprints) will see everything wiped and we all start with a brave, new world Correct me if i am wrong, i don't assume that i am always 100% right ( looks into coffee cup for tea leaves to read.... )

Looks in refrigerator...light is still on, however the cheese looks like it is getting moldy.....
-
Hmmm refrigerator light is still on ...
-
Fortunately we are predicted to experience a cold wet windy rain event for our Friday and Saturday ..idea for the excuse to sit in front of the Computer with a warm throw rug, fluffy slippers and the heater on high... so if it arrives tomorrow yay.. but... ??????? Maybe we should sacrifice a few Griefers to appease the Ylands Gods?

ties a carrot to end of pointy stick and dangles in front of ane and the development tea...
-
Opens refrigerator door to see if the light inside is still on..

tomorrow? (Thursday for me where i am) but then as i am way ahead of most of the world in the time zones ..... ( except for the kiwilanders...) ... but tomorrow never comes as one second past midnight, tomorrow is still 23.59 hours away ( Prods BI with a sharp stick ) ...
