Sharing with you who might be interested...the progress at Dingoland to date. This is not to promote me, but to show new arrivals to the game what can be done using basic expertise.. The first screenshot is of the rubber plantation i brought back seeds so i don't have to fight with pumas etc on tropical islands to collect rubber. The second screenshot is one of my food /resource plantations . its all on reclaimed land and the palm trees help in navigation back to the harbor Third screenshot shows the harbor and moored ships .. because its all reclaimed land it shows on the map as a distinctive brown "U" shape area, so easy to locate my base. The fourth and fifth screenshots are of the under construction "Wotdeefark" ..a storage ship that i am going to load items in for transfer to "the afterlife""..ie pharaohs tried with the pyramids... when 0.7 is released. The idea is to load the completed ship and contents into the editor, add some decorations... then try to add it to a new game in 0.7 version. Hopefully it will survive the time warp and when i restart in the new 0.7 game i will have ready access to building materials and weapons to survive better while a new base is constructed. For the record..i am not an expert at building etc...and a lot of my "creations" look like failed evolution attempts But you do not have to be an expert gamer to play Ylands... just let your creativity run rampant. Dont be surprised to see a wind turbine powered truck running around one day..

Whats happening at Dingoland? Well with the introduction soon of the 0.7 update requiring new games for the generation of NPC's etc, development of the Dingoland base has ceased. In stead all the ores are being refined , and tools bulk crafted...cloth spun and woven ...seeds collected. Under construction is a storage ship .. ..non functional as a sailing vehicle but able to contain heaps of stuff. The plan is ...(if possible) .... to move all essential crafted items , some ores weapopns and other resources etc into storage areas on this ship ... then try to load it all into the editor. After the new game ( " Orstrayliah " ) is started with the 0.7 updates, a new me in my whitey tights will try to move my ships from the editor back into the new "explore" game. ...hopefully it will work

The down vote suggestion ...... ...yes it could be abused. Any form of moderation should NOT be controlled by the posters...only the forum owners. To clarify the suggestion.. a single post would need to have 10 down votes....as a poster can only down vote once, it would require 10 different forum posters to down vote that post and that should raise a red flag to the forum mods. If a poster gets one down vote on every post... then the mods can assume there's some dislike or agenda against the poster by the down-voter. Never, ever should posters be allowed to moderate a forum... that's like putting squirrels in charge of the nut-house

I have yet to test it, but apparently you can store things o n a ship and load the ship from your game into editor, then create a new game in explore when the update is available, and move the ship plus its contents from editor in to the new game. You also have to include your clothing etc on the ship ..as the new game will create a new "you". After you place your ship in the new game board it and gather your weapons etc and start exploring. I have not had anyone confirm officially this is possible but from videos and comments i understand it can be done. Perhaps Ane or Ales can confirm this is possible ..if so it will make us Ylanders who have been in a game a long time very happy in not having to start a new game from the very beginning

@Seathre ..its a difficult subject... and yes it could be abused... but something needs to be done... and its better to talk and discuss and let the forum mods decide. However by voicing ideas, we bring the matter to their attention. The Devs obviously want to put all their efforts into improving the game .. its a shame that their attention is being divided because of these spammers. Hopefully the "love guru" whose spamming takes his own advice...and moves on

I think this suggestion got "lost" in the love gurus spamming episode.... so re-posting ...any comments?

The only issue with this game ..is that it becomes addictive! When it comes to spending money I am one of the tightest, meanest misers in the world but i had no hesitation in opening my wallet ( it screamed) to purchase access to this game. Before you start playing, invest in a table with food coffee and snacks you can place alongside your computer Jump in and become a Ylander... the sharks, bears and wolves are really friendly ...... and so is the community

RESOLVED [YLD-8390] Infinite rubber extraction from sawed down rubber tree
kimbuck replied to Sailling_pigeon's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Brought back to my base rubber tree seeds...i harvested the rubber first then chopped the trees down and brought the seeds /logs back I have now a rubber tree plantation of about 15 trees alongside my base ... you can harvest rubber from them every 2nd day -
..or getting a seagull stuck in the stern of your ship
-
Nope ...it only just occurred to me today that this was possible... i got a lot of good older games i abandoned because of updates. I have never used the editor...and when i started reading posts from others that do use it ...i was "suddenly enlightened". You cant teach an old dog new tricks ...but he will wag his tail when offered a bone

maybe find the range of IP addresses involved and lock them out for a day or two? ... or arrange for some Ylands NPC's to fly to Mumbai or wherever and unleash some Ylands wolves and bears ...
-
could it be made that 10 downvotes in a day blocks that user? ..until a Mod reviews it?
-
Gives me time to build some storage boats ... to move stuff from current game to new one ...i gather thats possible? ( using editor)
-
Perhaps new accounts can be limited in their posting for the first day..and if excessive posting block further posts until a Mod approves?
-
Hi Yadni! yes - you have met me in Inworldz ...as the infamous Honey Chicken glad to see you bringing some of your expertise to here. Actually it was quite fun down voting those posts .. i am sure they will come back ...like the fake microsoft and IRS and insurance scammers.
-
...meanwhile i having fun with afternoon coffee break and down voting all the love gurus spam posts
-
Might be worthwhile then to start creating some "bulk storage" ships and prepare for the move. The NPC's have me intrigued too ..i wonder if they understand "aussie slang" ... eg " she'll be right mate ..'ave a Vegemite sandwich! "

Today i felt bored. I took a break from 2 hours of Ylands and noticed that our friendly Love Guru had h is subjects repeating their spam mantra on the forums ... so for fun i spent some time down-voting every post ..poster now has a reputation of -22 Is there a down-vote limit which would see such a poster with so many down votes get some sort of penalty..or auto ban?

Terraforming or dirt sticking to blocks
kimbuck replied to Eva Pilot 01's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I tried to solve this issue by using very thick blocks to line the basement... and after patching up the holes in the dirt, use a spade and 1st [person...to remove the spots sticking through ... line up the bit of dirt with the tiny white circle on center of screen and dig.. ..also useful for removing floating bits of dirt. As this is still early access, perhaps a lot of suggestions for improvement might make some changes to the future updates/ releases -
Is it possible, therefore to load resources and weapons etc from my base in the 0.6 version onto a ship ... then move them in the ship via the editor into a new game on the 0.7 version when its released? that could be a work around ..and awesome!
-
Upon reflection . if this is possible, then one should construct multiple ship hulls as storage vessels...load them with containers... and fill the containers with weapons tools and resources fro your current game in 0.6...then move them across into the new game ..on 0.7 You would then be able s to start a new game with a lot of resources to build a new base quickly....and survive wolf and bear attacks easier
-
Therefore it Would it be possible to move a ship full of crafted items from a current 0.6 game to a new game on the 0.7 update...? If so this should be highlighted and made"sticky" so the players that have progressed heaps on 0.6 do not have to start at the beginning in a 0.7 game with the new NPC's If this is so, it will be a great boost to those of use that have spent a considerable time building a base and gathering resources . Just equip a ship with all the items you have... and workstations ...and resources and move them across. Please let us know if its feasible..

OMG ! you becoming an aussie? ( Thats an Australian! )
