  1. I also encountered an alpha brute bear while i was building my ship ... yes a tier 1 island... i managed to swim to the ship and get aboard and used my entire crossbow store in disposing the blighter. i guess i can say now i swam to safety with a "bear" ( bare ) behind ...
  2. On My 1.5 exploration multiplayer "chickenland" i had established a base and armed myself, and whist crafting in my hobbit hole, i heard mutants making threatening noises outside. With caution i emerged to find my base being encircled by 6 mutant golems !! They appeared to be searching for me . After i disposed of two, i was finding about 15 mutant leopards roaming inside my barrier...i suffered a few hits but managed to find a place from where to defend. The battle lasted a whole "night" and after exhausting my supply of bullets, the tree trunks were littered with crossbow bolts that missed their mark, and the hillside and surrounding area was glowing green with piles of Ylandium dust and crystals. I survived ... Either my base was near a spawn point , or they came out looking for me ...their behavior suggested the latter. Anyway . it was a "fun" night . I think it was just coincidence but really devs, this could be a interesting game addition....if after so many days and the caves not cleared ... the mutants emerge one night for an apocalyptic revenge ... Sure made my exploration game more interesting ..meanwhile i need to craft ( lots) more ammo and beef up my defense walls ... And for the record ... two of us managed to cross the seas of exploration and meet .. the game is lookig up ..
  3. Well well ...another night and about 6 golems and 30 mutant leopards tried to overrun my base .. they were appearing around the edges of my barrier and definitely trying to get in .... check out the screenshots...the piles of ylandium and crystal tell the story. need to craft more ammo in a hurry!
  4. I accidentally left my mp region on line with the password turned off and yes,,, some infantile griefer tried to destroy my base. They did no come to steal, but destroy and somehow managed to get a ignited powder keg inside my locked work area. The resultant explosion did not destroy anything, however it left a crater in the floor inside the building. No big deal to repair, but i wonder... shouldn't the Barrier not allow terrain deformation like that? it wont let you dig,,, guess its another feature :0
  5. How they got in doesnt matter really... its known glitches awaiting fixes for ages but how did the dynamite make that crater... from inside a barrier? thats the intrigue...
  6. there was a ceiling, a stone lined room above ...and then earth ... so it cldnt have been dropped ...maybe using v and place? even so, it shouldn't leave a crater like that . note ; it did not destroy the surrounding items and chests... just made a crate under the bed maybe they might have glitched in onto the bed ...placed the explosives' then unstuck out before it went off? that sounds a possibility. But how through the walls and ceiling? could be a variant of the sleeping mat exploit.. ? ?
  7. barrier was on . Got reports from other players that 2 guys were travelling through the islands "blowing up" bases Maybe they have a hack or exploit? Don't say that they do not exist in Ylands ;0 Ylands is no different or immune to exploits as all other games. i also tried to ignited a powder keg in my own barrier ...it just didnt work. Its really baffling how it was done.. maybe it might have been form a cannonball fired forma ship? ..but how did it hit inside...and why was the terrain inside a turned on barrier cratered? Nothing surprises me now ;0
  8. a screenshot of the damage ....

You devs have renewed my faith!

Very promising lands is now struggling out of the quicksand ..and if 1.6 delivers then faith will be wholly restored
  10. Spiritchaser said ..."Thank goodness! I will have to wait a few days to play again because I refuse to play it while constantly starving. (It's like having an open wound you can't heal) More like driving a long distance with your mother--in-law as a passenger who has failed multiple driving tests but insists she tell you how to drive ...non stop!
  11. masochisitic me tried again ... i deleted progress under settings etc ... started again ..but no barrier oh well all seems ok i re built up some weapons and clothing ... sailed and visited 2 islands , built a temp shelter and logged out for dinner . came back and all worked including feeding. Had to go to rl for 20 mins .. so made another shelter on another island ..put down a bed again ...logged out. Came back 30 mins later at correct place ... but unable to feed . tried diff foods ... diff places - logged out and back and whatever ...still unable to feed . Game is useless as it is .. will it be fixed before xmas? hopefully yes but from past experience ... i doubt it. Game still broken ...ohh its got new stuff,, look see ... but whats the use if its basically broken? logs not provided as i am tired of sending them in ... spent more time sending logs than playing the game
  12. i encountered it intermittently ... on one game i couldnt ...joined another with a friend and i could and he couldnt ... he's game is now offline so went back to the first game where i could eat and now i cannot And no MP reraly ... Sorry guys this half baked approach is not working. The hype was nice but i am giving up being a game tester ... maybe in 1.6 . IKF it ever arrives , and then possibly 1.7 1.8 1.9 1.n tot eh n-1 I am getting disappointed with ylands. Its BROKEN and i am not the only voice crying in the wilderness.

    Remember when?

..when you arrived in your undies on an island, and have to craft some basic stuff yo make fire and to survive the first night without starving, freezing or being eaten? The island had some resources for you to craft decent weapons, or some thoughtful players made a help centre to get you started. There was lag and there were bugs but the game was playable. just, in some cases... your choice was either to make a base for safety on that island ..or look for another... but to do that you had to actually explore! The islands were random in size and placement ...you knew desert biomes usually had copper and sulfur ... temperate coal and saltpeter, tropical copper coal and sometimes sulfur ..... all had some iron.and clay somewhere. And inside the caves? that was a surprise. Yes there were glitches ...flying sharks, invisible boats and horses , and falling through the earth - but there was talk of them being fixed Then came the improvements...lots of additional stuff, different island shapes ...and talk of fixing the flying sharks, invisible ships and horses and falling trough the earth. And we then came to the great silence. Several updates that really went nowhere. more shiny things but the horses and ships still went invisible .. the sharks were hidden away, ( problem there temp, solved!) and you could still fall through the earth and die. We had players who had dedicated servers who managed to script things so that their games had some form of griefer control and enhancement ... there were bugs but the game was fun, with lots of explore. Then the big release. We no longer had pvte dedicated servers so all the work done by some players was useless. ( those playres went elsewhere feeling like they had been shafted!) We got heaps of pretty shiny things ..but still have invisible ships, horses and you can still fall through the earth. And explore ? where has it gone? you start out on the same shape island..which soon depletes of basic stuff so you cannot leave and eventually die. The other islands are in the same place and all the same, so if you know where the iron is ..you get there asap, plunder it and then no one else can get ahead in the game there's no real explore anymore ...only the npc's and the position on the islands of the ores and resources change ... well kinda .. There's added "excitement" of pvp style npc's and extra predators, but did we really want that? we got it regardless , along with invisible ships, horses and falling through the earth. But if you like to play gameboy stuff and walk around with your nose pointed at your mobile device .. and like roleplay, then the game is ok for you But if you are more mature, want social activity in MP to explore and create.... Ylands has currently ignored you. They might be adding stuff later, but ? ... but then we also still have ships and horses that can go invisible and earth like quicksand in places. Of course there will be rebuttals to these comments, but look at the facts ..there are some of us that were here from the beginning, saw the promise and liked what was "to come" and have thousands of hours gameplay. Its not the same game any more. for many, its not what they expected or wanted. a lot of my friends here have moved on through frustration.. Will it improve? Time for a rethink, guys ...
  14. Some of us have stuck with Ylands, because we had hope . We spent hours and hours struggling with the bugs ...and sending in logs etc for the benefit of the game. In one instance i spent two whole days trying to play the game and sending in bug reports every time the game crashed after 20 minutes ... thats a lot of logs and waiting to get back in! connection time outs ... disappearing objects and work stations ..or simply " shut down for no apparent reason" wit a restart and 20 minutes lost work. But i am not alone .. others were doing it too , but unfortunately a lot just either did not have the time and patience and simply gave up ...especially as there was little to no feedback from BI. The P1 community has given feedback ....lots if it .. but has anyone at BI noticed? Whats frustrating is to send in reports and they disappear down a black hole somewhere. ... no feed back was obvious and disheartening. Thankfully Adam has responded to correct that recently, but there was a time when there was "the great silence" and players deserted en masse. These bugs being mentioned now are in the basic game . There's an exploit that was ruining the game that we reported to Ane ( remember her? that was looooong ago ...) ...yet i still see that exploit today despite a comment it was fixed. If you don't know what this exploits is, then that proves a point . No one paid any attention to the players then...and it might be too late now. As it is the game dies from bugs as it progresses. You start to move out to explore, but all these glitches start to multiply .. and the only fix is to wipe and restart. But these days all the maps re the same, so it ends up like groundhog day. I am currently marking time to see what 1.5 achieves. I still have some hope. Patience is wearing thin, though.
  15. What i am afraid of is history repeating... we get this 'updater" just before a major holiday period ..it will bring in lots of new shiny stuff with possible inherent bugs .... fix very little of whats broken and we players will act as game testers struggling with bugs and drop outs server issues and whatever ... and there will be no one at Bi able to help as they will be on holidays. In Jan we will get the promise of a 'hotfix" ... which eventually emerges just before the Easter holidays ... and then .... go back and read this post from the start .. and replace Easter with Christmas 2021.. I am still wondering who is now running this game ... i suspect tencent, and if so ,,,, well time to move elsewhere...

    BYE BYE ylands.

Two of my family members on forums for other sites/games have run strangely, into someone who does the same as here, word for word. impersonating mods, switching names pretending to be someone else. Whats so stranger is phrasing, modus operandi is identical. in fact you could say they are the same person. One board has that player ( and several alts) on permanent troll ban. Now , i am not accusing this person being the same as that one, But as a warning... Forum mods can see more than what on the surface, and playing games with forum members etc is not a clever idea. You soon end up talking to yourself.
  17. got a timeout disconnect error message after 45 mins of play ..logs attached output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt
  18. Connection lost when assembling a ship. I am on the new P1 Aus based explore server... twice, when assembling a ship ( press Q ) the game seems to hang .. you get the assembly sound effect ... then the game crashes with a message " connection lost" or "game terminated by host" Has happened twice so far... Logs ...for your ok lumberjacks .. attached output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt
  19. Hi adam ..it was red-eagles P1 infinite explore. I came back in 2 hours later and there had been a 5 min windback it seeems and all was restored.
  20. i'm baaaaaack was in game ... suddenly unable to pick things up. so decided to re join upon returning was in starter outfit ------ nothing in inventory ..no clothing worn or tools food or anything ....empty! inventory? ...as full as a politicians skull.. :9 was able to pick things up but had nothing in hot bar or inventory .. Back to square one ? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Looks like another day of giving Ylands a miss will return when i yearn for another bout of masochism output_log_clean.txt output_log.txt
  21. New day new game clean map ...new start .. 1 hour in ... disconnected due to timeout? Screen froze on that message ..had to re boot system to get out. Tried to rejoin.... game hung on rejoin .... couldn't get into even the lobby. (sighs loudly ... ) i am better of wasting my time doing something...anything else.. logs? couldn't get back into game ..that eternal slow moving wheel thingamy gets annoying.
  22. Note: i am not advocating that unreal engine would be better ... i am no expert in this field. The Ylands devs would need to assess what to use, but its becoming obvious the current one is having difficulties meeting ylands expectations. The other game was referring to had just one dev ... and was still technically in early access, so a stop and re think was possible . Changing a working engine mid stream would not be possible overnight .. All we can do is wait and see what happens... its their choice
  23. For information... another game i was looking into had a similar series of errors.. they stopped development for nearly a year while they re-wrote the entire game for another engine ( unreal engine) They posted that their initial testing indicates a lot will be fixed and their mp version runs way better. Maybe Ylands might have to stop with the goodies and new stuff, bite the bullet and look for an alternative engine that supports their game..
  24. The problems listed here are identical to the ones encountered on the P1 Servers ... so its not just the P1 community thats affected . Hopefully BI can use this accumulated knowledge to resuscitate Ylands exploration
  25. Adam --- after 30 sept the messages became time out messages.
