Update: 17/07/2017Version: 0.4.35021-
Fixed issue where character would sometimes be unable to act after loading a save made while reloading a ranged weapon -
Fixed issue causing animals to become unresponsive if attacking character got too far away
(due to some technical issues we had to roll back to the previous version for now, until we figure out what caused the issues)

We talked about adding thirst and being able to move water as game features at some point, but those are not in our plans for now.
You can already plant cotton, that's what the cotton seeds are for

To craft the energy linker you need an energy regulator, iron ingots, a screwdriver and a hammer. And it requires the energy workbench

Before anything, have you guys read the entry about the Energy in the in-game Codex (F1 by default)? The basics are explained there. If you still have doubts after reading it, shoot!

You can pack and move your bed somewhere else though (since you mention it in your example), unless it's part of a point of interest, in that case you cannot destroy/move any of the items.

We definitely want to add more options to the ylands creation process and adding more ylands is also a possibility, but there are no plans for this yet
