Thats a real kick in the guts.. how are DS operators supposed to manage their worlds.. stupid to be honest.

Again if I remember correctly, if you want to make NPC standstill, double click on the character. Sorry it's been a while, I forgot the details..
ahh, i don't really touch the editor at all really.. so that's new to me, thought they were "lights" or "flares" .
So waypoint issue, for now maybe make them static (standing), at least until a fix is put out witch is likely 0.9

Since it looks like a triple monitor setup, do you run it on a single monitor or all 3?

Maybe i should take a photo of "Horse Island" near me ... it's becoming a plague... of horses..
-
Looking at the gif, i would say that those flares or lights are causing them to do that..
unless you put them there to emphasize the issue at hand, which seems to be a intermittent teleporting issue.
Given the time in Europe right now you wont get an official response for quite some time.
I remember that on stephens server they didn't move, maybe ask him how he did it.
Other than that ill put it down to being an alpha bug
p.s is there really a need for big text?

Got any sources/proof with that? my pc is regularly up to date with updates and haven't noticed any difference.

yeah I'm surprised they didn't leave their calling card...
As with the base, the only thing i can think of is they got in a via a gap somewhere if it has roof, floor, walls x4 and was secure..

Time to harden up the server then... given china's history in other games... with their hacks and what not.

And look out for other transcontinental birds in other directions

My idea:
Creative: SP (maybe MP on a locked DS)
Explore: MP/DS
Story: SP
Key: SP = Singleplayer MP= Multi = DS= Dedicated server

Gonna go out here on a limb here, i would rather much prefer ships be fixed before enhancing them further with features.

Agree with the idea for manual planting, however only if its not on the spawn island. Spawn island should have a self regenerating system for those that are new, and a mechanism to kick those out who are hoarding

(50 banana trees on the one spot...)
For all players out there... please do not do this... from a DS operator perspective, not only is this annoying to have and remove but it does take a performance hit for the server.. especially when its more than just a "personal supply"

Thanks!
From what i have read, it could be a render issue or something to do with bindings..
Just to make sure, run a integrity check on ylands on steam, if that check out, hopefully a dev will check this out.

I Should note our particular server has been around since ~17th Jan this year or version 0.6
We are also Australian, only 1 of 2 ( 2nd one comes and goes ) that's public in PA region.
tbh honest unless you play several hours a day, and have moderator(s), banning items never works.... there is no policing or enforcing to it..
From experience people will do whatever they want if they want to... you can't stop them unless you have active staff playing all hours... there is no logging of players actions.. which also makes administration non existent.. especially when staff are away.
I certainly cannot be online every time, and since the 0.7 fiasco server has been real quiet... i certainly got frustrated to a point i almost threw it all in... it's only very recently i have starting playing again... when i can.
My current policy on running the server is, providing a better experience than official servers, stability, reliability, up time, Active admin that maintains the server, which
can be an issue on official servers.
I keep the server up for the community, and a hope that soon... DS will get a big update making it real nice to run.

Next time this happens could you attach the "output_log_clean" log file from "Steam\steamapps\common\Ylands\Ylands_Data" directory, as this will give more detail, hopefully.

Having the output_log_clean file in "Steam\steamapps\common\Ylands\Ylands_Data" would also help figuring out issues when these things happen.

edit: resolved!

Initially on a Windows VPS with 8GB ram, which would be ok for ~48hrs before needing a reboot, now on a hosted service due to costs of running windows vps.. and the issues that the DS comes with to not make it worth it...
I know the host is a Windows 8 system due to the logs..

Nice work kb, but in reality ships need some protection though

I have noticed from previous saves that once it reaches around ~20MB in size, it starts to degrade.. and generally when "proactive maintenance" becomes a chore, aka "cleaning corpses and junk items".
I also logged in one day, loaded in fine, started making my way to a island ( live in the ocean ) and when it started loading in.. server crashed.. since then i wait and then for it to "catch up" in order for it to not crash..

All comes down to popularity and Geo Location, as for me, server is super small, some occasional players, however we are in the oceanic region so
less population overall so basically near 0% demand..
Server has been live since 0.8.. still going. I don't get much time to play, but when i do its few a few hours at a time.
Edit: Editing for clarity, the server has reset itself various amount times due to unknown reasons.. i check in each day and i might find 3-5 log files..
indicating it tripped at some point and rebooted ( auto reboot part of the hosting service features ), i check these logs and nothing to point out why
the server tripped.

May i suggest not to use official servers? unmonitored/unmoderated and use community player driven ones.
You're experience would probably be a better one overall, that is if you participate with the community itself.
Otherwise solo on official servers is fine, so long as you leave the spawn island asap, and things get 80% immediately better when you settle somewhere else.
