When using a shovel at and piling up dirt at a hillside or mountain, you can sometimes create holes in the floor and fall through them until you freeze. When creating a new character your items are still there however. Died once this way and managed to close the hole with more dirt. I'll add screenshots when i'm able to duplicate the bug.
