  1. 1. Yes, you must first place the ship into construction/edit mode and use a Demolition Hammer or right click while in free-place mode to remove everything on the ship before you can then deconstruct the ship hull itself.

    2. Yes, as above, use a Demolition Hammer or right click while in free-place mode to deconstruct items, workstations, furniture and blocks. This doesn't work on things in random encounters though so you can't demolish a traders house for example!

  2. The server company may be doing maintenance at the moment, unfortunately you can't tell when that will happen or for how long. Try again later, hopefully you will be able to reconnect.

In the meantime, try connecting to another public multiplayer map like CAG Port to see if you have the same issue.

  3. Most resources only spawn in as deposits, those lumps that you dig at with your pick. If you are lucky you will also find some ore underneath those deposits which you can dig out of the ground itself but this happens only in the big chambers at the end of the cave tunnels. If you hold your pick and look at the ground it will tell you if it is just dirt or if it is an ore like clay or iron. You can see how the ground is a different colour underneath these clay deposits than the surrounding dirt/sand in this screenshot, that is more clay ore that can be dug up with your pick.

    2) There is no additional info or use to viewing items with the eye icon.

-All the stats are listed in the right column of the normal screen anyway.

What about things like food and potions that have a description and list of effects they have like cold/heat resist and strength bonuses? I guess that could get added as a small caption underneath the icon or new symbols under the stats section I suppose.

I have to say I probably use that eye icon the most out of everyone, considering 90% of the wiki icons have come from the 3D preview there 😅 I'm in the process of making new icons using the editor instead now that I've sort of got used to it though

Well I don't really know a lot of games that have it personalized 🙄 not sure it is possible.

I'd say as long as there's an option to sort alphabetically and maybe have it prioritise the inventory containers so they sort first at the top it would still be an improvement and probably work for the majority of players. The main reasons I want the sort feature is to organise within the inventory containers themselves, to get rid of any empty spaces and to condense stacks. An auto-deposit feature which can take items from the inventory and add them to their respective inventory containers would be handy too. It's frustrating dragging things one by one into their inventory containers, especially when it only takes a partial stack and leaves some in the inventory so you have to drag it in a second time.

Aren't you worried that less people will buy the game which means less income for you all? Or does it not work like that?

There needs to be a balance between being fun and challenging. If it's too difficult then it could also turn new players away who don't want to pay as well as any of their friends/family that they might have recommended the game to. If it's too easy then no one will pay for the game. They need to find the happy in-between and it seems they were receiving lots of feedback saying it was too grindy.

  7. I'm curious, so does this mean tropical will have clay + flint deposits, and copper will be moved to arid leaving tundra with just zirconium (and a bit of gold)? 🤔 This would mean energy would be unlocked a lot earlier too except it will be locked behind getting coal and cobalt for the various energy components, unless their recipes get changed too? Either way I'm excited to see what changes!

  8. It's the weekend so devs aren't on at the moment. Usually Anna is here and does name change requests for people. I recommend joining the Official Ylands Discord, it has a much larger and more active community of players to help answer questions and the devs are active there too to help with issues/bugs etc during their work hours.

aint u gotta pay for that area ...DLC wise ?

You can either buy the full Adventure DLC which unlocks ALL regions immediately, it is still recommended to follow the same progression and visit the Ylands in order of difficulty but not compulsory, or you can go the free-to-play route and grind resources and exploration points to unlock one region at a time. The game gives you both options. There's also the possibility of winning free DLC codes in giveaways hosted by several players in the community.

Did you send Anna a message? It might be tricky trying to organise a time for her to help you out if you are different timezones but she should be able to join you on your map where you died and look for the box or reimburse you lost items

  11. Have you tried sleeping to skip the bad weather? You don't have to skip whole days, you can use the leave button to stop sleeping instantly, it makes it easy to check if the weather has cleared yet (I do this  when waiting to tame the mythical animals). In terms of the sharks, are you using the fish repellant flares and capsules to deter them? Usually you just need to light one and if it's active in your hot bar then it's working and you can continue swimming and mining deposits and harvesting resources etc. Normally the shark will go away after a couple of flares and you swimming in the opposite direction until your out of sight.

Also, hold out for the next patch/update as they are working on rebalancing the ranged weapons so they aren't so weak any more. A big thing with the new elemental system is knowing what each enemy is vulnerable or resistant to. It may not be obvious at first but when you strike an enemy a little visual cue shows how effective it was, for example, using a fire weapon will show fire animation on the enemy when you hit them and it will be larger if it was more effective because that enemy was vulnerable to fire attacks. They are working on making these visual cues more obvious too I believe. It can be tricky working out and remembering what each enemy is vulnerable/resistant to though so I've added those stats to the wiki on each of the individual enemies pages. Stone Golems for example are 75% resistant to ranged weapons so shooting them isn't ideal, however they have 0% resistance to Energy weapon attacks so smacking them with something like the Slammer Hammer (was the Zirconium Hammer) or the Knight's Club will deal much more damage to it.
