Ok so I have been thinking about this for a little bit and after playing the game for so long I noticed one debate that always seems to come up is about ship speed regarding engines versus sails. I know from much experimentation that the ship styles all have certain speeds they go and there is a maximum speed regardless of how many engines and sail you place. (4 engines for large and steam ships reaching max speed and 3 engines for the other ships achieves their top speeds).
I love using the /dui command to see the temperature and time of day at the top right of the screen, so my question is could we include the speed the character is travelling in that display or possibly create another command that displays the speeds (not just for vehicles, but for animals, cars, walking and running, etc.) ?
I think if players had a command that illustrates their speed, it could end a lot of the debates people have about how many engines and sails is fastest, which animals is fastest, etc.
Just a suggestion I think people would find useful. Thanks!
