    Time Manipulator

Very impressive @Fompstersuper proud to see people using the UI Editor to its full potential!?

How to work with the new UI tools?

Custom Window is a window that will pop up and can be closed, similar to opening up an internet page and exiting on the top right. Custom hud stays active all the time unless you disable it using logic. Both are considered to be "Custom UI" To edit text, you need to recall the item using the Widget Editor Widget ID can be found as a click-search function OR by checking your Widget ID in the Custom UI
  3. Hi I'm a little interested in the vague plan on Ylands mobile. I understand it will heavily focus on the playground but apart from that no other news. My reason being is I'm a game creator that works both in group and solo and I'm already working on my 6th game now (the others being CastleHunt, Firelord, Pirates vs Indians, and some unpublished games). Will featured games by users be accessible on the playground? What kinds of games is the Ylands playground going to focus on? Duration, engagement, multi vs single, etc? What kind of "soft limitation" should we expect? (Since phones are much weaker than computers) Lastly, I understand right now there are local "files" that can be saved into a game. Ex: Warrior Level 10. And everytime you start that game (even if it's fresh) the local file will remember Warrior Level 10 solely for the map file/version. I would like to know if this will expand to "global variables". So for example, if I make 1 game that can unlock a golden hat, if I make a new game, players who have unlocked the golden hat before can transfer it over. I think this would also be especially useful if someone ended up making an MMORPG in Ylands and being able to transfer character stats from 1 version of the map into a newer version. Thanks for your time

    BI Servers

@jchob Super busy with a project for this Saturday, sorry.

    BI Servers

@bojo2736@jchob@Spyler.X@RedEagle_P1.@Adam Snellgrove Hey guys, I have some good news. I found this: "World Saving" This means that using the restart function (as mentioned above) will still keep the world with it's old buildings and such and still enable anyone with a tool such as a lever, to restart the server. JUST BE CAREFUL TO HAVE A BACKUP MAP.

    BI Servers

Not sure honestly. If the script function "restart game" restarts the server but keeps the save file that would work....but I haven't tried that yet. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Ylands_Tile_-_Restart_game @bojo2736
  8. Hi noticed in the latest update searching "camera" gives us a "customize" option to force 3rd person or FPS.... How exactly do I use it in a script?
  9. Igor Q.

How to force FPS or 3rd person camera?

    B-But I want it ?

I wanted to try Playlands but ...

@Adam Snellgrove I'm working on a small project you will see in the future that might work with only 2 players *Wink *wink

    BI Servers

Quick suggestion Adam. Do you think we could add some kind of functionality to the server such as "saving the map" before restarting it? (Either client side, or editor script side) There are sometimes cases of servers dropping and people lose time on things they were building.

    Misleading info about mobile Ylands

I'm have high hopes for the mobile since I have a razer gaming phone, but I really hope I don't have to buy a 2nd copy of the game... ?

    Balls of different sizes?

@Adam Snellgrove If possible it would be super nice to have... Cube/Rectangle Pyramid Sphere Cylinder Hexagon Doughnut (and cylindrical Doughnut) It would be nice if we had some kind of "noodle" option similiar to the "path" logic but we can choose the thickness. Also, please ask if they can add these objects to the trigger zone list please

    Interview Ynterview #4 - Aleš

"The not yet announced cool feature number 1" Nice ?
  16. Man this is a bit dissapointing, and here I thought we would be able to animate 3D models such as a robot lol.
  17. I know it's not nice to say bad things people work hard for, but considering I am one of the few people who take the animation tools seriously I think it's appropriate to give my 2 cents on this since I was the first one to introduce real animations within the Ylands Editor. If you don't believe me, you can look at my youtube page -> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJYROFrcoXhSQXhh7Mn-_8g Anyway let's get started. 1) Smoothing Smoothing is capped at 1, which really doesn't make any sense because acceleration should be fully adjustable (from o to 999999). When I made animations, I frequently used animations that had incredibly slow initial velocity and accelerated immensely. Smoothing does not accept negative values. What this means is I cannot have an object move from point A to point B while slowing down. (Imagine a Car approaching a Red Light) 2) Rotation Everything about this is a mess. First take into account that some objects don't even have rotation centered around their middle, but the corner of their model. a) I consider Rotation "Align with Translation" to be effectively useless. The incredibly niche use for it (rotating something relative to its movement such as a turbine) can be effectively and easily replace by with MUCH easier manipulation. b) Rotation "Around Reference Point" is incredibly difficult even for me (someone who has experience with these things) to easily manipulate objects. First, the reference point doesn't even align properly. It should rotate relative to the arrow of the reference point. 3) Having a chain of different animations happening simultaneously is too difficult to do using the tools provided. Animations in general are not mathematical, but visual. The most common form of animating in 3D programs such as 3DS max is by allowing the user to create "screenshots" of difference poses, and instead have the machine compute how the limbs, objects, etc will travel in space to reach their end point. This is called "Blocking to Spline". I'm not expecting for some amazing, but it would be easiest way to get people to have access to animating. 4) The animation tool isn't useful for feedback movement such as a flying vehicle because the game cannot smoothly transition from one type of moment to another. I'll keep trying to work with the animation tools provided but at the given moment...they are just too difficult to be able to make something more interesting than a bird with flapping wings.
  18. Yeah that would be wonderful. I would love to be able to leave ancient diary logs in islands for players to find.

    Scripting in Standard Explore

Even though I don't play explorer as much as other people, I think we need REAL blueprint support. Right now blueprints only work locally. I don't see any reason why we can't have blueprints saved from the editor and saved into our profile. It would make it easier to build our "ideal home" easier and faster on a new explore map. Additionally, we had some mention in an old Dev diary of mini bosses in the explorer mode...are we still gonna get that? Right now there isn't much to do in the game once you collect the main resources...it feels a bit barren. Having something harder and bigger to work for would be nice in the game, like a giant pyramid that can be explored. Or having actual human NPC's we can talk to, engage with, fight with, etc. More AI is needed to make the game feel less lonely.

    0.14: Playful Platform (05/09/2019)

Great update...unfortunately no update on Mob AI or Ray Tracing, but I'll see what I can do with the new features XD Bug Found: Shooting an arrow with colors set to 255 Red (0 others) gives no arrow while doing pull animation....and the arrow fired turns back to original colors. I tried to turn the arrows into non-unique entities and instead I got this....... 48 Bows in my inventory

    Dev Diary #93

Will Ylands gets a feature in the future to be played offline? Will 0.14 be before Christmas? Is polishing going to be focused more on the single player rpg aspect or multiplayer aspects?

    Dev Diary #92

Is Scripting basic actions for mobs/humans in 0.14 gonna be available? What about camera control? Also, when is the demon costume with wings I have requested gonna be added into the game ?
  25. Have you wanted to create your own blue prints to use on a server? Well here is your answer! I introduce to you *drum roll* C.A.G.E = CREATE AND GENERATE ENVIRONMENT https://workshop.ylands.com/asset/941 The C.A.G.E. can be used to create, save, rotate and place customized blueprints within your ylands world! Have a sweet blueprint you want to share with other people? No problem! If you load a design into the C.A.G.E. other players can save the asset as their own blueprint. "But Igor, what if I want to have MULTIPLE blueprints?" Simply load up the composition multiple times and make sure the original spawn point (you should only have one) adds each storage entity to the player. Make sure that your lever spawns a unique reference object that will be used for the event listener!
