  1. Why can't we store the Axe, Knife, Chisel, or Screwdriver in the toolbox? Also, why does it automatically put coal that we mine in the toolbox instead of the coal bucket? I would like to know the reasoning behind this, please. And while I'm asking this, I have similar questions on the herb bag. We can't store grain, carrots, potatoes, or spinach however, we can store buckwheat and most every other plant. Why not the other plants too? Thank you! Sandy
  2. Will we have birds again to follow to new maps?

How can I delete local exports?

I don't know how to do the exports, but I managed to export a local game somehow. I finally got it deleted by removing the file name. It is shown in 3 different locations in the same folder directory and it won't disappear until all of them are deleted.

Dev Diary #149 - Script Module

So, what can you do with scripting? Say, you make something that you really like, how do you use it in a game? Or do you have to create a whole world to put it in? Can you make new things, like animals?

  7. I've been playing this game since it was released to early access in Steam. I had watched a let's play series by Keralis and it looked fantastic. I had followed Keralis for years playing Minecraft, but I only played on creative as there were too many creatures trying to kill you in survival for me to enjoy it, instead I loved the building part. This game seemed to be the answer for me, it had great graphics, an engaging resource and crafting system, and a tongue in cheek humor that I really enjoy. I was also able to play in the regular exploration mode which was really exciting and made you work a strategy to accomplish your goals. However, when I finally decided to go to multi-player, I wasn't very impressed at all. Other players became the ones who kill you, take all the resources, and just make it difficult to enjoy. Then I found the P1 group and MP changed completely. Now, after all the concentration on the editor, I'm hoping we can get the exploration MP part working correctly. I've heard rumors that perhaps BI isn't in creative control of their own game any longer, due to a large sponsor. I hope this isn't the case, but if it is, what can we expect in the future? I personally enjoy the exploration, I really enjoy the "magic" that other players can make in the editor, but that isn't necessary to the enjoyment of the game. If, in fact, BI is no longer in control of their own creative process, please let us know what direction your sponsor is taking this game. If you are in creative control, perhaps you could end up with 2 products, the editor and the exploration. Due to all the things that need fixed, I've actively looked for another survival sandbox game to learn and get immersed in. But I haven't found another that I like as much as Ylands, plus, there isn't another gaming community that I've found that compares to the ones that Ylands has attracted. Please consider being more transparent with the players who have been with you, rooting for you, helping every way they can to make this game a success. I would love for this exploration game to be an enjoyable, exciting time, rather than a very frustrating time. And I'm sure the more people we have playing exploration (not destructive people), the more people will become interested in learning the editor to enhance their enjoyment of the game. I appreciate your time reading this.

    Tool box feedback

First, I love the tool box, it helps free up so much inventory space. Thank you very much for adding it. I do have a suggestion or question, though. Why can't we put the axe, the knife, the screwdriver, and iron chisel in the tool box? If you could make it include these last few items, that would be fantastic! Thank you for keeping the improvements coming, some of them are real game-changers! Sandy
  9. I also received a similar message but it was after I had played in the Sandbox for a few minutes. Screen shot below. Thanks, Sandy

The next big step for Ylands

Just an observation on how many people are playing a multi-player game right now. The public multi-players total a whole 21 people. We need to have our Nitrado servers back.

I want my map back - please!

What a wonderful thing to get first thing this afternoon! I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention before. I'm doing a happy dance now! Thanks, Sandy
  12. I understand that the map isn't needed for navigation with the islands being visible, however, I would still like to have my map for a visual representation of island locations, sizes, biome, etc. Before, I could note where my base was on the island and I didn't need to be navigating something in order to see what direction I was going. I really don't understand the reason for removing the map, would you explain that decision for me? Thanks, Sandy
  13. When exiting a multi-player game, Ylands doesn't go past the blue screen with the alternating color "thinking" circle. I have to manually close the game completely down and restart it. Thanks, Sandy
  14. This time, the MP server I was on lost connection (apparently) and my game froze trying to close out the session. Here are the log files for this one. Thanks, Sandy output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt
  15. Thanks, Adam. This time it was on a single player game. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

    Game Suggestions and feedback

@jchob I don't know much about the editor other than going in and opening my SP map and add the creator cube or other item. I'm willing to learn, though. What I would like to add to my game would be a couch, TV, kitchen sink, wall cabinets, and a refrigerator as a start. Here is what I have so far just using the items you can build in game. But I still need to learn how to make them properly plus the other items. Are any of these something I could create in the editor? Thanks! Sandy.
  17. I really enjoy the social aspect added to the game - thank you! I do have some suggestions to improve the game. 1) Would you be able to reduce the number of Gold Rush official servers and maybe convert some of them to exploration games? I don't think I've ever seen a number of players other than "0" on any of them. 2) It is hard to plant vegetables or other plants in a straight farm row, it would be nice to have more control over where the plants actually end up. 3) In addition to the ability to farm better, it would be great if we could domesticate the boars and goats as farm animals. 4) I would like to be able to ride my horse and be able to shoot or eat or pick up items while on horse-back. 5) This game needs to have mod support. I could see animal mods, furniture mods, decoration mods, clothing mods, food mods, the list goes on. If the basic functions of the game are in place, people would be able to use mods to customize the game to what they want to play - not what someone else believes they should use. I really enjoy this game, however, I've reached the point where I'm really starting to miss the things that I feel are missing (for me). Thank you for making this game and providing a place for feedback. Sandy T

    0.11: Peak Performance (19/11/2018)

Since the update, I've had 5 Ylandium crystals, 3 Ylandium dust, 100 copper ore, 300 iron ore, 60+ saltpeter, and 70+ sulpher chunks taken out of my storage in a locked tool shed in a MP game. The storage unit isn't locked, just the shed. Can you tell me how this is happening so I can fix the issue?

If you change one of the colors from 255 to 254 and save it, then you don't have to waste another color first, the white will work.

    RESOLVED Multiplayer issues

The blueprints don't work most of the time for me in MP. I've seen earlier posts advising players to wait 3-5 minutes until the blue outline shows before placing the blueprint, however, I waited over 15 minutes and it doesn't show and it isn't there when the project table is placed. I receive the someone is using that message. Since I've invested a lot of "work" getting my space ready, it would be great if we were able to delete the unusable project table so we could try again. I enjoy the MP, but this bug really frustrates me.

    Dev Diary #39

I'm on multi-player after the upgrade and I had to start over on the island. I'm okay with that part. When I use the raft or boat, the ylander uses the correct items to interact with and the compass is in the upper right hand corner of the screen. However, after the upgrade, when sailing on the ship, the ylander does not "take the wheel", it just stands there and the compass doesn't show on the screen. Is this an issue for others?
