When creating script-driven Exploration maps, I often include a special map room that allows teleportation to other islands (For admin use only of course!) It would be great however, to have a legitimate, craftable teleporter for explore mode.

With regard to the workshop. There needs to be a review. I would suggest allowing content to be uploaded directly from the Ylands game. Maybe even as a Steam Workshop feature also?

That’s a great build Bojo, I like your placement of the Lion statue. A nice sweeping set of stone stairs would look nice.

Hey guys! When I’m not feeling in the mood to explore as a Victorian pioneer, I used to enjoy striding new sands as a Renaissance Conquistador! Sadly I’ve noticed that all former skins for weapons and armour cannot be crafted in the Exploration Mode. Would it be possible to reintroduce them as separate craftable alternatives to the standard iron armour? This would be a simple change that would bring some more diversity to Exploration. Diversity that is greatly needed. thanks guys! Rob

Oh I’ve stumbled upon a few in my travels, and I agree there is an element of achievement from obtaining these. However I do believe that the feeling of restriction within a sandbox environment is definitely present enough to warrant a rethink maybe? Perhaps these rare variants could be obtained in the form of a crafting unlock? Or maybe the ability to craft item variants could be enabled/disabled prior to starting a new game? Just my thoughts on the matter. I would love to have this considered.

RESOLVED Backend Request Error (401)
Deadeye_Rob replied to Deadeye_Rob's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
It hasn’t actually, it just seemed to last about a day. No idea what happened though. Ive been away for a bit hence the slow reply! -
Hi guys, just tried to log on for my Ylands Bindge and I cannot get past the title/loading screen. I recieve a 'Backend request error (401) and the game closes down. Is this just me or is this a larger problem? Rob

I’m finding it near impossible to complete the last challenge on the checklist. I don’t believe I have ever seen a soul on Playlands. I do make a point of checking frequently during my time on Ylands but sadly I can’t see myself completing this list any time soon as a result.

I have already begun drafting my next 'Resolution Voyage' in my brand new office!

If it’s not too cheeky, can our adventurers house also qualify as something from our favourite film/comic/book? Thus proverbially killing two birds with one overly-creative boulder?
-
To be honest, because the gameplay is so basic you’d not be missing anything by watching it on YouTube.

Hey guys! I recently played a The Order 1886, a game that I’ve had for a few years but never played until now. I’m always careful to check game reviews and I was aware of the poor reputation this title had, so as a consequence I only bought it for pennies! As someone who spends a lot of time on Ylands I absolutely love Victorian-Sci Fi (Commonly known as Steampunk). So The Order 1886s setting was right up my street! Its not a title for typical gamers or those seeking an action packed FPS. The Order 1886 is more like an ‘Interactive Move’. The level design, graphics and storyline are absolutely outstanding and immersive. Player input is massively lacking. When creating assets for Ylands, I have felt a renewed flow of inspiration as a result of playing this title. If you’re a fan of Steampunk, I highly suggest you give this a go! In the meantime, I will attempt to create my own little set of steampunk builds to bring The Order 1886 into Ylands! Let me know your thoughts guys! What inspires you when creating in Ylands? Rob

I loved it. The best way to approach it is not to see it as a game. More as Ann interactive movie!

Hey guys! This is a really petty suggestion so I do apologise! Hopefully others agree that the Captains Cap could do with a little bit of a remodel. In my opinion it looks a little too much like a puffy hat! Id love it if the hat could be reworked to resemble something of a peaked cap simply as a quality of life improvement! Thanks for your consideration in advance guys!

Thanks for your feedback guys! I've still got a few scripting kinks to work out. Due to your brilliant support however, I have decided to publish this vessel for all to enjoy! I've even spent a little more time tending to the interior upholstery! Enjoy guys! WORKSHOP LINK: https://workshop.ylands.com/asset/2232 Rob

Hi guys! What with 1.0 well established I've decided to give my Victorian Steamship an overhaul! I've done a lot of research into the Pullman Private train carriages of the 1800s and I think I've done a good job in my attempt to recreate it. This is my personal vessel that I use on the majority of my exploration maps. With the arrival of Vehicle Blueprints (at long last) I can now build a more basic version online! I'm also introducing a number of little scripts such as a fuel capacity indicator next to the helm as well as a number of quality of life features. Here's the original design I made back in May 2019: https://ylands.com/community/topic/24732-victorian-explorers-steamship/?tab=comments#comment-74512 Here's some screenshots of my personal ship: The Intrepid! I've made good use of the new window sizes to allow for much clearer views! 4x Steam Engines are located at the rear of the ship. They're housed within their own compartment under a lockable hatch. The chimney is for decoration! This is a straight-line view upon entering the cabin. As per my previous design, the area is broken down into sections. This is the study area. It hasn't changed much from it's last design. I have embedded a book cabinet into the wall next to the exit door to save space and to look neat! Opposite the study area is the new seating area. I have continued the style of embedded furniture by fitting sofas and cabinets into the structure of the cabin. The bedroom area is located in the forward half of the cabin. It features an embedded wardrobe and a few basic pieces. Every Victorian explorer needs a portable armoury! How else can he push the boundaries of discovery by shooting at everything that moves! I have a fully stocked armoury including ammunition storage. Note the lights above the door to the Helm Room. Finally we come to the Helms Room. The new Anchor lever is perfect for saving space. I will eventually add a lot of script-controlled displays in here such as fuel levels, navigation etc. ....And that is the end of my tour! I love how this ship evolved from the basic one I made 5 months ago. It functions very well as a mobile base and a fancy talking point! I'm experimenting with the possibility of evolving my Victorian interior design into luxury vehicles such as train carriages and even some form of airship capable of Island to Island flight. WORKSHOP LINK: https://workshop.ylands.com/asset/2232 I look forward to your feedback! Thanks guys! Rob

It reminds me of “Kingdoms & Castles”, a really charming city builder and RTS. I think an experienced scripter could easily build something to equal or even surpass a game like that!
-
I’d love to see someone create some kind of city building game out of the Ylands Engine! This is class!
-
Of course, I’d be delighted if you would! Once I’ve perfected some of the little script features I’d be happy to upload it.

RESOLVED Ylands Workshop Won't Load
Deadeye_Rob replied to Deadeye_Rob's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I've just downloaded and started using a different browser. Works fine now. Typical IE playing up. -
Hi guys, I don't know if this is a local issue that I'm experiencing. I've tried to access the Ylands Workshop site on both my Laptop and my Mobile and on both occasions I'm met with the same infinite loading screen. Is there something wrong with the Workshop or is my potato laptop and phone playing up?

Blueprint Spacing - RESOLVED
Deadeye_Rob replied to Deadeye_Rob's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I feel silly now and have closed this down. It turns out that you can overlap buildings but only on the condition that The blueprint requirements have been completed first. Incomplete blueprints will have a collision barrier. Hope this helps others for future reference! Now back on with my modular testing! -
Hey guys! I've taken a quick break from the Xmas holidays to a few hours on Ylands 1.0. All seems pretty good so far except one massive bug bear. Ive noticed that blueprints now have collision zones making it impossible to overlap buildings. whilst I understand this move, I think it should be scrapped on the grounds that it prevents the use of 'modular construction' as of 1.0 I can no longer use my modular dockside blueprint set as the different modules require a 1 block gap between them. Long-winded as always I'm afraid guys! I'll try to get some pictures up soon to better explain it. In short.... Liberate the Blueprints!

Possibility for throwable javelin?
Deadeye_Rob replied to KinaUndead's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm definitely up for this suggestion. Maybe the Devs could consider the idea of a 'Ranger Update' I think Bows, Arrows and Crossbows are in need of a little diversity! I want to be able to batter my target with an iron arrow instead of just scratch them with a flint one! ? Maybe even poison tipped arrows? Etc...
