Dev Diary #287 Your Suggestions Which Made It To Ylands
Yo HasLEGO replied to rihapat's topic in Dev Diaries
What would go in the document folder 🤔 Just the paper notes you find in REs? Books too? -
I beg to differ! Let me explain the backstory of how this all started. So a little over a year ago Jrock made a server where he, Mello and me built a medieval town. In between building we had some hilarious role playing moments. One of the best being a night now known as "night out with the boys". Mello just finished his beer storage filled with huge barrels full of beer. We all grabbed a bottle and as the night went on, things escalated into madness! Mello and Jrock started throwing fists, passed out and some of us started to run around naked across the streets. Not a pretty sight. Anyway, the role playing we did in combination with some chill building is one of the most fun i've ever had in the game and i really treasure the memories we had on that server. But then, Stiegi responded in discord with this hilarious post below! He made a scene out of it. Figuratively and literally. He went through the effort of building a thrashed up party scene, with him sitting there alone and drew tears in his eyes afterwards. Talking about committing to the bit! Then Nikki tried to comfort him by promising that she would invite him for a party with the devs. Which brings us to this post, after a year of waiting. So, now we're all caught up I just want to say again that this was so cool to meet you all for real. Love you all so much ❤️

Here's my unreasonable suggestion. The ability to easily make custom sails and rigging. I don't know how doable this would be for you programming wizards but here's my idea. What if, hear me out, there were some kind of node blocks to where we could link rigging to? Like the energy lines we can make now, but rope. We'd need a special rigging tool (like the energy linker) With that rigging and that special tool we could make surfaces from rope to rope. Sails. We would set at least 3 corners on the rigging itself, to let the game know where we want our sail. The game would then generate a "flexible" surface like the sails we have now. I imagine the following would be the most difficult if not impossible. But it would be so cool if the those sails would be affected by the wind and change shape accordingly. I expect this to be perfectly implemented due the following update. that last part was a joke please don't overwork yourself guys

Get rid of the eye icon all together in the inventory/crating menu. 1) It's tiny and so many people don't even know it's there. Because of that they aren't aware you can break items. And it's behind a pop up most of the time like Hando mentioned. 2) There is no additional info or use to viewing items with the eye icon. -All the stats are listed in the right column of the normal screen anyway. -The picture of the item now, can be replaced by its 3D view (the axe itself in the screenshot) -The "break" button can easily fit above or in between the "equip" and "drop" button as shown in the edited screenshot. It's really tedious to break a lot of items as it is now.

I hope this can be personalized. Every person's inventory I've seen looks completely different. Some like their personal stuff and containers at the top, some at the bottom, some to the side even!

Dev Diary #277 The Cost of Progress? Lower than Before!
Yo HasLEGO replied to rihapat's topic in Dev Diaries
Aren't you worried that less people will buy the game which means less income for you all? Or does it not work like that? -

What else will we be able to make in said copper caster? -
Glad that rotation lag in the editor is gone now. Well done Mr.Fluffy and others probably!

Dev Diary #275 How to Host Ylands Multiplayer to Your Friends
Yo HasLEGO replied to rihapat's topic in Dev Diaries
Also important to keep in mind is, if you invite a friend to your home map, then it turns into a multiplayer game that anyone could join (unless you have specified a max number of people or password). Be sure to set it back to single player once your friend is gone. This does not happen automatically! -
Thanks for clarifying Anna. I searched all sea bottoms where my ship might have been when the patch dropped but they were no where to be found. But Then i remembered that it happened previously too, when the game updated to 2.0 i believe. So there were still a bunch of them where i used to park my ships, which i've now picked up and safely stored away All is well now.

So what's that about the broken barrels and crates? Are the ones we had deleted from existence? I had a ton of them on my ship and just now i noticed all those chests are empty. Guys, you know how we feel about completely removing things 😥 It fills me with desiderium and anguish.

On the old arctic Locust server ocnog, jrock, me and i think spirit were finishing up a huge build together. It was a bunch of big glass domes with in every one, the plants of each biome. And i remember seeing the sun slowly rising through the glass as we were taking our sweet time landscaping in and around the domes. I couldn't help it but sing the beatles "Here comes the sun" in chat. Then everyone started du du du-ing along. Despite we were in the arctic, it was a very warm and endearing moment ❤️ love you guys

Did you know that the stone giants you find on adventures are all created and given life by a godly human-like formation? It uses its own matter to shape and birth new stone giants. Legend calls it the Hand of Creation and if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of it in Secret Streamerworld!
