forcing them to hand over stuff like that is blackmail .. a punishable offence in the real world. You have no right to do that on a public server. f you are genuine in your so called " research for exploits etc blah blah, common sense would prevail for you to find another method of research where you do not inconvenience the innocent and unwary and ruin their enjoyment. It also gives the game a bad name ... which i do not think the game creators/developers will appreciate. I do not agree with you. Your actions speak for them self .. If no one believes your or trusts you ...whose fault is that! ??

A landing craft style would be neat ... with a drop down ramp at the front for loading vehicles etc.

Suggestion - Mark Explore Games That Used a Cube
kimbuck replied to davepopp1's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I think the topic has wandered off the path and into the wilderness. My take is that there are players posting videos of their achievements, which they have created using the creators cube, and not mentioning so, giving the impression they are super creators. This may not be their intention. I know of some series of " how to " videos that are probably done that way, not to glorify the creator, but to save time and avoid boredom while different aspects of the game are highlighted .. for instructional purposes. I find these videos helpful in showing what i could achieve as i progress into the game. I play Ylands in explore, single player, and prefer to start from scratch , and evolve through the game through skill and survival. my Ylands are littered with my tombstones of "un-success" I have a test game where i use the cube to see how things can be done... then i go back to my original un-edited game and start the quest of hunting for the resources to duplicate what i have learned . As far as cheating is concerned , i see the cube as an issue in MP games where PVP is rampant, or PVE games where someone wants to be the "King Pin" without developing skills etc. and dominate. People will always copy and try a minor alteration and claim it as their original .. its not new ...look at the art world, and also in manufacturing. if people didn't do it, then there would be no need for copyright laws. How others play the game in their own world is no concern or worry to me .. the term i use is " i do not give a pinch of possum poo ". But when I succeed in creating something / anything that's impressive through my own hard effort and brain power... then i feel happy. very happy. There's a lot i have done i have not shared on the forums here, simply because i don't want to be as boring here as i actually am in real life Youtube videos of ylands don't bother me if they are real or fake .. but you have to acknowledge there are players here who were playing the game from its inception.. and they possess knowledge and skills of at least a years effort learning the game ..and therefore helping the developers swat bugs. There are also new players to here that I know from other VR games who have demonstrated their amazing creativity and building skills. If you check out the welcome area of "inworldz" for one example, based on Jackson Square in Louisiana, you will see the creations of Yadni Monde... and also his own region there of Mont st Michel ( spelling? ) both are amazingly accurate in recreating to original. He also has a prior reputation as a master creator in "Second Life" ..He recently arrived here, and he doesn't need no creators cube or cheat with all his prior creating experience. So lets all just enjoy the game as we play it... and get satisfaction from it our way -
Good effort! Actually, the quartz crystals you find in caves give a brighter light. Try a few of them first...

[Suggestion] Hot Air Balloon
kimbuck replied to GrandPunkRailroad's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Actually a steampunk styled airship would be neat ... just there would have to be the means of obtaining the gas to inflate it ...perhaps an electric hydrolysis unit ... powered by a wind or ylandium generator? Keep whispering in the devs ears .... a lot of whispers can rattle an eardrum -
Suggestion - Mark Explore Games That Used a Cube
kimbuck replied to davepopp1's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Gotcha! I see what you mean now. I work on the philosophy that if its too good to be true, then that's the case. I know that when i have a game using the cube in play, it appears as a little purple symbol top left , and these games are used by me to test things for an actual serious survival game.. Using the cube in actual gameplay reduces the skill and aim of the game. With modern video editing packages its even possible to edit that out. The problem with you tube is that you can never take what you see on it at face value. You can be sure that that skimpy dressed voluptuous girl in the thumbnail losing her clothes is just clickbait, and the actual video will probably be about how to change the oil on a tractor narrated by some robotic voice and not a tractor in sight! No matter what the developers of the game do here, there is noting they can do about youtube videos, except If the content actually missrepresents Ylands in a libelous form. Then the devs could contact Youtube for action, but from what i have seen and heard about that, you don't hold your breath waiting for youtube action. The devs have better things to do than watch every Youtube vide about Ylands to police trivial stuff like a youtuber stroking his ego with a creator cube. I only look at the actual on line streaming videos, where you can see any editing. But as far as the others go, I don't bother. If its on the internet, it must be true? Stay with Ylands and explore and create honestly .. at least you can feel good about what you achieved and how you achieved it! -
Shovel sometimes just doesn't flatten
kimbuck replied to Soondead-27d3f9fbcbfb78c3's question in Suggestions & Feedback
It will not flatten areas of stone.... nor will it flatten areas where the soil is too high .. you need to reduce the height with a shovel first. Sand and such is easy ..but again it also depends on the direction your avatar is facing ...usually it flattens an area offset to one side....not directly in front. But again it is a little "iffy" ..i couldn't flatten an area one day , and upon returning the next had no problems! Blame it on rogue pixels ... -
..and a new you if you don't move away fast enough!

Regarding corpse removal ... would it be possible to equip oneself with a coffin and then load the corpse into it ..like you can do with a chest/container? then either dump them at sea or have a key combination you can press to remove them from the game. ??

In first person ( c key) align the aiming "dot" on your screen at the rock and then hammer away .. to break a medium stone usually takes about 10 hits.

ridiculous? yes- but no! its been proposed earlier and maybe if its kept being suggested it might happen. We can already craft a Brazier.. and why bot a bicycle frame and gears to operate a propeller? -
Suggestion - Mark Explore Games That Used a Cube
kimbuck replied to davepopp1's question in Suggestions & Feedback
if people are in single player explore mode.... whats the use of a marker like that? who else would see it? why is it needed ? I have a test game where i use the cube to try builds before i construct them in my explore game -in that test game there's a tiny cube top left of screen to let me know its active. In my explore game , there's only me, ..(and spectators in the house peeking over my shoulder at the monitor ) so whats the use of a symbol there? I have not played a MP game and don't desire to do so yet because of the few who wreck such games, and from what i gather, the server admins don't allow the cube there. If you are referring to people who are in MP explore games and seem to be able to craft objects real quickly ...it could be due to the fact they have been playing quite a while and can organize their priorities and skills through experience. -
A brave new world .... hmmmmmmmmmmm

Cannot find any structures such as pyramid, houses, all that
kimbuck replied to Tim118's topic in General Discussion
if you sail around an island .. you will not see much - some things but not all.. you actually have to go ashore and explore. I have found building perched on the edge of cliffs and very hard to access ... it pays to carry a spade and dig a path ..or use dirt to build a dirt bridge. -
For the curious regarding "bactrian" a dromedary goes " Humph" a bactrian goes " Humph Humph" Actually camels on desert they could be used to provide wool ( like sheep in temperate areas? ) which can be spun into yarn ...woven in to items camels could also provide transport an alternate to horses on desert biomes.

Sadly, what you have encountered will see the demise of many MP groups. Some want to win at any cost and if they cannot, well, they "take their bat and ball and go home" as you discovered Cheaters?.... some may be innocent , some may not. All you can do is search around to find a server with a group that's similar minded and who play the game fairly. With the updates due, and new players joining in the numbers of non pvp servers will increase, especially when others realize the creativity of the game and there is more to it than slaughtering everybody and destroying everything

Cannot find any structures such as pyramid, houses, all that
kimbuck replied to Tim118's topic in General Discussion
sometimes they can be hard to see... I have found eleven islands in my game and on one i got a surprise when i went back for a return visit and found 3 structures that were there but i had missed the first time! One was half buried in a forest, and only visible after you fought off 2 bears and a puma! A give away to a location is a collection of predators lurking around in a specific area. -
Propeller pack can be a real life saver.
kimbuck replied to Silwercastle's topic in General Discussion
i only use the pack to skip over predators hanging around items of interest or resources .. these days i don't shoot everything and anything. -
Bigger world and Admin creator cube
kimbuck replied to Jabba6241's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Regarding number of Ylands per game ... my current game has eleven that i have discovered ..... so far.... only one small one, the others quite large ...one was elongated, and another figure 8 shaped with 2 biomes Found the eleventh one ( tropical ) only a day or so ago and i suspect from the unusual spaces in the map there might be another one lurking, awaiting for me to discover -
Propeller pack can be a real life saver.
kimbuck replied to Silwercastle's topic in General Discussion
A crossbow is a potent and useful weapon! after a spear, that's what i craft next ... then a sword for close up melee defense. You don't need guns /gunpowder, and can get a long way into the game without them -
Propeller pack can be a real life saver.
kimbuck replied to Silwercastle's topic in General Discussion
I hope they don't change the propeller pack for just this reason. Inside caves it can be rather "Scary" and i am sure a lot would not venture inside the caves if the pack was changed or made rechargeable. The game is difficult enough as it is and should not be made harder or easier That is sure some cave! and that's a nice collection of mutants. And by the way, once you stir the mutants up, do not be surprised to see them on the surface, seeking revenge! Unfortunately i missed the screenshot that showed 4 of them trying to invade my sleeping area .... when being savaged at night by 4 crazy angry mutants you don't say "smile" and hold a camera! -
I suggested this before and got a reply that it would take a lot of time and resources to do, but i will mention it again for thought... I suggested that once you reach a certain level in the game, and have explored all the possible ylands/world in your game, then your base /spawn island would remain the same but a new set of Ylands/world would be generated around it, allowing for more exploration etc. and an endless game. However, as Ales said , such a modification is currently way beyond the road map and resources of Ylands at present..it would require more programmers and programming time etc and its best to fix the vehicle and get it running smoothly first before adding extra wheels. And to me that makes real sense. Look how many other games tried to fly before they were capable of walking, and have hit the dust! " Softlee softlee...catchee monkee" ... best small sure steps than big leaps ....over and into crevasses! Keep up the good work , guys !
