Yes, I would love to have region-specific dynamic terrain. It would be awesome . Especially if we can assign it to one player. @Houp

P1 Building Competition! #10 - The City Grows!

    Amazing build huh!
  12. Overview: Build a city building, win a prize! The Idea: Everyone builds something related to a city then we pull all the items together in one big server for all of us to enjoy! Part 3! Rather than a strong competition, any builds in the top 50% in quality enter to win a prize. Claim your preferred building, only one person can do one building type. The Contest: 1) Choose a non-residential, normally found in a city 2) Reply to this topic with the building you choose! 3) Build it 4) Upload to workshop & link it here 5) I will judge the builds. All builds in the top 50% have a random chance of winning one of the prizes: Prizes: 1st place: 3k Coyns 2nd: 2k 3rd: 1k 3 total prizes given at random to people in the top 50% of builds. Example buildings: Bank Taxi Stand Police Station Market Bus Stop Mall DMV Court Hotel Power Station Info & Tourism University/High School Etc. Kids park. Sports facility Water treatment facility & pumps Restaurant Railroad So far we have: Ylandium Store Cloths Store Car Showrooms (2x) School University Bike shop Tennis court Bakery Lego Store Roads Parking Lots Deadline: 1 week from posting, to the min. >> How to get started: << The moment you see this reply: I am in! Do this if you are considering joining, its not a commitment to join for good. Judging criteria: 1) How good does the build look? 2) Would it work in a city (connect to a parking lot, sidewalk etc.) 3) Feel free to add a service-related car if relevant. Note: No need to go over-the-top, just have fun High chances of winning even if its not perfect. Rules/Legal: No purchase needed, submissions outside the deadline do not count. Coyns have no real-world value but are bought in game for about 3-5 USD per 1000. So the value of prizes is about $30. I cannot win the prize myself... clearly and I will choose the winner based on the "judging criteria." Discord use not needed. P1 does not represent Bohemia Interactive and/or Ylands. Direct any concerns our way. BI is just doing the prizes. You MAY enter content not already uploaded to the workshop that you made BEFORE this contest started if you want. FAQ: Can I submit more than one build? Yes but you can only win one prize max. Can I make my build together with a team: Yes but only one person on the team can be given the prize. How big should it be? That depends on what you are building. There is a block-limit so don't make it massive but 1/2 of life-size is a good ballpark. Put down a human man in editor to ensure realism maybe?

    What is this game becoming?

A lot of games like Ylands just start up and do their thing and then die soon after. However, With Ylands we have an active community that is still here after 2 years. This shows there's something tremendously right with the game. There's something about this core concept that sparked the imagination of the people here. As with all Early Access games we had the idea the game is a work in progress and needs to be repaired. Watching this trailer back in 2017 sparked our imagination: The adventure of landing on an island and making it a home, and maybe even building a community on that island filled us with excitement. However, that dream slowly faded as more and more effort was put into everything but that dream. The editor was incredibly advanced but the reason its popular is the other stuff does not work. Fundamentally speaking, very few people play this game for the editor. We are here for the original dream, the adventure. However, it's been 2 years since steam release and not only have the major bugs not been fixed but the direction of the game has totally changed. It’s not longer the game we fell in love with but you seem to be shooting for some sort of mobile game similar to roblox. You had something going here that was so beautiful, brimming with potential but due to your desire to go after this new idea you have failed to achieve either (at least at this point). This would be fine but you're launching this year and when people see you are trying to make a mobile social game with monetization, they will be out faster than they came in. Why not do explore really well, see if people like it and then build on that? This way you include the community on your journey, get feedback and keep the big ideas grounded to people’s likes and expectations? You can’t write off the negative reviews this game has been getting solely on bugs, there is a massive and widening disconnect between the community and the developers. The power of early access and games like Minecraft that pulled it off is that the process was a step by step, hand-in-hand process which depended on the community. Now, you are going off without us into the unknown and I do personally wish you well but is this a wise decision? Only time will tell.

    Interview Ynterview #4 - Aleš

All my chats with Ales have been great ones. He is a really honest guy and cares about this project so much. @Aleš Ulm you should totally share your big vision for this game with the whole community, I think it will really inspire people.
