I tried ramming it with a raft, normally you can use rafts like tug boats in a harbor. I also tired the anchor trick, this isnt the first time something like this happened. Last time lowering and raising the anchor fixed it. Oddly enough, after I got to shore, ran around and cut some trees, came back and the boat had fixed itself and my fishing friend is right back where he was before. The friend who caused the ordeal died when the boat sank, he died underwater. When the boat righted itself all his stuff also came up from under water to the deck.

When you go in the caves, collect the crystals and mushrooms. They glow naturally, the crystals are very bright. You can pick them up then place them down at your base, on your raft/boat, wherever for free light

RESOLVED New map after death not working
blfonsworth replied to Silwercastle's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Even without the current map glitch this would be a good feature. As new friends join you could replicate your map for them so they can see not only where they are now but where you've been so if they go off exploring solo they dont go somewhere you've already been -
[Suggestion] Build inside the ships (make ships hollow)
blfonsworth replied to InvictusESP's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Do you know how he got the masts to connect to something other than the boat? Looks like he build up then connected masts to the top, I tried to do that last night but it would only let me attach the masts directly to the boat -
RESOLVED New map after death not working
blfonsworth replied to Silwercastle's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
I made a 2nd map, the 2nd map was updating and the old one wasnt. I quit back to the main menu and then re-loaded the game and my original map worked again so i ditched the 2nd map. You mentioned your orignal map wasnt working after you re-logged. Maybe next time try making a 2nd map and having them both on your tool bar when you re-log? Will the MP maps be fixed as well? All my clan mates grumble when they connect to my server about their maps being reset. Mine works since I'm the host. -
If you have multiple people playing in the same building on the same network they should all be able to go into the multiplayer menu and see your server if you published it. I dont think there's a way to only show your server to people on your LAN since multiplayer goes through Steam

We have a ton of people but it seems each game we play only a handful will pick it up, I'd like to see more of our guys on the same games

Some of the dev team have hinted in random forum posts and replies that expanding the map and player count would be possible improvements for the future but are not being worked on right now. The player count at 8 is technical and for gameplay. Technically speaking, the game has enough issues in multiplayer that having more people on a server would just make things worse. Gameplay wise, the only resources that I think respawn are berries on bushes. Nothing else seems to respawn so eventually you would run out of resources. If the player count was upwards of like 20 or 30, especially on a public server that is up 24/7 with players constantly rotating in throughout the day, each server would be stripped pretty fast. Not to mention all the random and abandoned bases (it would look like a public rust server)

He does lol, I thought my group was doing good to have 6 playing

Birds fly between islands in straight lines, they turn around and fly back and forth when they get to the next island. If you press F1 and read the sailing guide in the Codec it out right tells you in there that you need to follow the birds to find another island. The best thing to do is circle your current island until you see birds out at sea. Turn to travel that direction, look at your compass, are you heading north? south? east? west? once you see the direction the birds are going just keep your compass on that heading.. if a storm comes it wont matter because you already know the direction to go.

We use a lot of crystals and mushrooms from caves. They glow like a lantern. They're not as bright but you can find them in large quantity in the caves. We have them on corners of railings, on tables, lining the stairs, all sorts of places you need light. The catch to using them is how the game treats different light sources. It seems that player made light sources (torches, lanterns, etc) can be seen from a further distance away than the natural light sources (crystals, mushrooms). The crystals are also brighter than the mushrooms. The mushrooms are more like walkway lights, they remind me of those cheap solar power lights you get at the hardware store to put up your driveway or sidewalk outside your house.

RESOLVED Boat teleportation glitch.
blfonsworth replied to Roborooskie's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
I experienced a similar glitch with the large ship rope ladder, except mine was actually useful. It teleports from one ship to the other. So Ship A is anchored at starting island and ship B is anchored at base on island 2. It's only a 1 way teleport though you cant go from b to a, only from a to b -
How many islands can you find in a single game?

How did you get the full map to show as the thumbnail like that? -
Micro-transactions in a pay-to-play game can rub people the wrong way. I don't mind them if they are all cosmetic. If you pay for a game and then have to pay to unlock usable items in the game, that's when you are just trying to rip people off (look at The Hunter) That said I'm pumped on this game. We had 6 people playing last night

Some sort of NPC or antagonist is what I'm really looking forward to.

I'm not sure that there is a way to make a hard save point that you can revert to at a later time. The game saves whenever you leave and I think that's it.

Since we don't have a reliable way to have dedicated MP servers for communities / clans, I'd like to make a suggestion about the hunger and food usage when resting. If you sit on a chair/stool/bench or lie down on a bed it would be nice to have decreased or zero hunger affect. This way a clan could have a server up most of the time. The host player could just sit or lie down when they need to go afk without starving to death. Last night I was hosting my game, which myself and others have put a lot of work into, when I had to cut things short for everyone else. We had 6 of us playing, 1 had just started streaming. The only options for them at that point was start over with a new game either on one of their own games or on one of the many community servers that are virtually unplayable at the moment (we tried most of the weekend to get established on NA #15 but it just crashed or lagged over and over, and without a working map or local respawn point you are virtually stuck on the starter islands)

Yes, this would be great. Being able to write on the map if you have a pencil in your inventory

Not sure if a bug or working as intended. In local hosted game. Single player that has been opened up to multiplayer. This involves having 2 large ships in different locations. Ship A is anchored off starter island. Ship B is anchored elsewhere (at 2nd island, north of starter island, different biome) If someone joins the game and swims out to Ship A, anchored off starter Island, climb ladder, they are teleported to Ship B. We used this method repeatedly last night. I was hosting the game and never tried it myself. How we stumbled upon it: I was hosting a game and another friend was playing with me. A 3rd player joined us and we got on Ship A and sailed it back to the starter Island. I decided to leave it there because it was slow and we made a raft and went back to Island 2 and built a 2nd Large ship hull (Ship B). Later on a 4th player joined, he was brand new, just downloaded the game. While we were debating how we would get him to us on the 2nd island he swam out to Ship A (anchored at starter island) and climbed up the ladder. It put him on the deck of Ship B, anchored in the lagoon in front of our new base on Island 2. We had a 5th and a 6th player join who repeated this process to get to us. Idk if this is a bug or if this is supposed to work like this. If it's supposed to work like this, if we build a 3rd large ship.. or even the regular ship, will they override each other and make it stop working? If not, I'll leave the 2 where they are and build a 3rd to roam the map.
