The problem is, crafting cloth unlocks the sail/mast recipes, so you won't be able to make anything that requires cloth (like armor) without the game crashing. I guess you could make a small boat, one that doesn't require a sail, and just row to the next island. lol! This is not the case. I just re-verified that by making sure I have all the things he listed, as well as all the things required to make the mast/sail. This time it crashed when I click on 'Crafting' from the inventory screen. There's something more here that I haven't seen anyone mention. The crash happens in the editor as well as in creative mode. This isn't a problem with the recipe, it's a problem with one of the models or references. Since it isn't happening to everyone, it's probably a driver/hardware conflict. My plan was to craft the cloth, then take it and scroll through the crafting menu really fast to see if it would crash before the game saves. Didn't work... now I have 2 saved games that are unplayable. You have a lot more faith than me. They've known about it for almost a week now. They released an update today that fixed one bug, one that wasn't even game-breaking. I'd rather restart on the first island every time I die than, ya know.. not even be able to play the game.

i just restarted, lost about 12 hours... seems like there are some people that have no problems... hoping it doesn't happen again in this playthrough.

I've reported this over at the Steam discussion page as well. It may very well be tied to one of the large ship/mast recipes, as trying to create the mast has been near impossible for me, and although I did crash before trying to build it, it was probably after I unlocked the recipe (not that I would know, since you never get an indication when you unlock any recipe...) edit: In case I wasn't clear, this crash renders the game literally unplayable. I can't stay in the crafting panel for any length of time without a crash now. Is it this severe for the rest of you? output_log_clean.txt
