types of players ...and how they enhance or wreck your fun
Indian Chief replied to kimbuck's topic in General Discussion
Here's my 2 cents.... When I started playing MP, I had the same problems as Kim..... then I started playing only on servers that are private and require a password.... since then I've not had one person be a pain and cause stress from destroying all my hard work. The other option would be to contact the devs and have your own dedi server where Kim could control as much or as little as she likes. For now, the only way to play MP is privately or on your own server... unless you're happy with PVP. Have a great weekend guys -
Next build for those whom are interested. Stage 1 complete.

I'd like to see a video on what can and can't be done with npc's. Can you get them to move or interact with a person. For e.g could I set a npc to guard an area and attack anything that comes within a set zone? Great video's on Ylands and logics Red! Thanks

Thanks Weezle, much appreciated mate.... hehehe V Alfred.... your mind did well. I started off building the front part for the European medieval house comp... but decided I wanted to make it larger.
-
So, as far as I know... it's complete. If anyone finds any mistakes please let me know and I'll do my best to correct them. On such a large build I'm sure I've stuffed up more than once... but taking around 50 hours to do.... I've done my best to go over the build as best as I can. Unfortunately the dragon carpet can't be added to the workshop build, and the same goes for the jewellery box that I had on the 2nd floor of the tower building... but hey you can always purchase them yourselves You can watch your plants grow Or have a drink and a game of darts... who's keep score? Maybe you ate too much for dinner and need to dance it off or maybe... just maybe you've been out exploring and need a treasure room. The build that I was using for a reference. Again, a special thanks to Spyler and everyone else who's workshop item I've used. Have a great weekend, and happy Ylanding Cheer Chief

Mate thanks a whole heap for letting me use your ship. It's a clear centre piece for the interior, and I look forward to seeing your next build.

Another update, slow and steady wins the races. I thought I'd add a couple of my favourite items from the workshop, and after contacting Spyler and Damemarianne… I've been fortunate enough that they have let me add their creations. Spyler had the sensational match box ship that I have placed on the 2nd floor of the tower. Anyone who hasn't downloaded it from the workshop shouldn't definitely cheek it out. Same goes for Damemarianne's piano, it's truly an amazing creation which is on the 1st floor of the tower. I'm hoping to have the house uploaded to the workshop on the weekend at some stage. Enjoy the rest of your week everyone. Chief

Hi Brad, I don't play on your server... but i'd say if you've been to 8 of the Ylands available then there's a good chance it's all been taken and the only way to acquire any other resources would be to trade for them. If you have at least 3 or more people you really want a server with hardly anyone on it, or start a fresh on server that's just been started. Good luck and happy Ylanding

90% of the larger objects have been added. 75% of the little things have been added, just a few plants and the inside tower to go. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Cheers Chief

Slow and steady wins the race.. especially after rebuilding it on stoutcrushers server. I noticed a few mistakes that needed correcting... lucky nothing that took too long. So I've started adding things inside, adding the larger objects first, then all the works stations and last but not least all the little details everyone likes to see added, and hopefully done by the end of the week. Then onto a new build this weekend. Feel free to give any feedback on what you see Take care Chief

Day 3, and I think I can say that the outside is all done. I'll start on the inside over the next week, or maybe this weekend if I find the time adding beds, a small greenhouse, kitchen, storage section, and a few other things

Hey @V-Alfred, don't be sorry mate. You're completely right, I'd rather have feedback then not have any, regardless if positive or negative I share my builds, or at least the half decent ones in case someone can get an idea or two from them. You're English is fine mate, good luck with any of your current builds
-
Cheers @V-Alfred for your feedback as always :D. I haven't yet had time to put a roof on the tower yet. I'll hopefully add a nice looking roof, with a few pillars etc on it that everyone will like the look of Have a great weekend, and happy Ylanding

Changed the design... I think it looks better?

That's what I've ended up doing... it's just when I/we end up rebuilding it in Stouts server it'll take up a lot of clay. At stage two it required 500 clay as I tested to see if everything was captured in a trail run.
-
hehehehe, you caught me out @V-Alfred! I used the wrong picture... in real life stage 2 is having the floor and bottom walls completed and a few other small changes that a minor. I started out just building the front bit for a house, and thought it wasn't big enough.... hehe we don't have that problem now. The scale is big, but it matches the building I'm referencing, and I had to use the massive logs... and they truly are massive I added stage 5. Upper walls and roof are the main things to be done before completion

restarted steam and it's all good -
Another day spent building in Ylands, due to time limit this build has been done using the editor. Picture 1. Is what I'd like to see the stone bricks look like as I feel they lack detail at the moment. Picture 2. Stage 1 Picture 3. Stage 2 Stage 3 and completion to come.

Bringing some editing functions into the game
Indian Chief replied to kimbuck's question in Suggestions & Feedback
Hey Kim, I like the suggestion... also all the cool things from the editor be made available to build in MP and also SP... e.g that fantastic looking chair and the iron pipe. For now, you can make a building in the editor, and then make a blueprint of what you've made. This will require opening a new game and then placing your saved comp and bang, now you can add that building anywhere on a MP, he he as long as you have the ingredient- 1 reply

Acme Labs from Pinky and the Brain

One of the best cartoons ever made, 11 out of 10 mate -
Hey mate, I placed it down in case someone wanted to capture it with the new blueprints, unfortunately someone has beaten you to it, as it's not my barrier sorry. I can place another if you'd like?
-
Hey Crow, great suggestion. I think Ane and the other Dev's have mentioned that they hope to implement "water" it in the future. Which will help with making pools, ponds and maybe even your underwater house.

Not a problem mate, easy to over look things, and with things changing better to double check. Happy building
