I want to copy my map / choose ingredients
TheSparkPlug replied to Indomitus's question in Suggestions & Feedback
I had the same issue with bear berries, until I discovered the the ingredients are taken based on where they are in your inventory: working top-left to bottom-right. -
A bed roll made of leather does not need to be packed or unpacked.

I do it too... a habit I picked up from Minecraft! 2 war axe 3 repeating rifle 4 pick 5 shovel (the digging one!) 6 knife 7 saw 8 map 9 food i also have a crate with tools to right click into slot 0, such as spade, mining drill, power connector, etc.

Well, the little I have to offer is... I have an exposed cave in which there are all 5 colours of mutated cat (3 normal, two alpha). Periodically I kill off all but one of each colour, but haven’t worked out a safe way to collect the dust yet so it just lies there Regardless of whether or not I sleep the numbers increase. It seems to max out at three of any given type (so, in my case, 15 altogether). Unless I am mistaken, they also seem to increase when I am out at sea, or on a different island. I also believe I have seen one spawn while I was in the pit. If so, distance and daylight are not factors (though it is possible that two cats were occupying the same space and separated when I got near). i haven’t worked out precisely where the new ones spawn - is it at the animals original spawn point or just near where the animal currently is. I suspect the latter as I originally led one of the alphas out from lower down in the cave yet it spawns clones in the open cave. i also have 5 horses that seem trapped by a rock (which they could easily walk around!). I am fairly sure there was only one trapped originally, so that suggests 5 is the max for horses. It also suggests they spawn very near (if not in the same space) as the ‘parent’.

We’ll see how “silly” my question turns out to be... had you made it to the end of my question you will have noticed the “in explore games” bit
-
Did you really need to include the entire original post in your short reply?
-
Will we still be able to use the editor to make/place compositions into explore games?
-
I’ve never tried this, but could you mark a few of them as indestructible in the editor?

[SUGGESTION]Blocky Ship Hull
TheSparkPlug replied to Raeffi-6e448ff7735ba237's question in Suggestions & Feedback
... and it can be smoothed somewhat by the use of 1x1 and 1x2 triangle blocks. I’d like to see something more skeletal... so we have to build our own hull.- 1 reply

I am in full agreement! As I mentioned elsewhere, I loved the new music but was forced to turn it off just to avoid the constant, as you say: jarring, battle music.
-
So that wasn’t your awesome base I saw on Stout Crusher’s server? I wish I was as bad at building as you are
-
When I was testing my “digging caves stage reveals number of islands” theory, I must have generated about thirty worlds... and never saw more than twelve!
-
I really liked the dynamic music when it was introduced but, sadly, I now play with the music off. The battle music just became far too irritating as it seemed to trigger endlessly... flying over any predator even though they are far below you, down in caves with no mutated creatures but predators on the surface, the safety of my ship but sharks nearby... there just never seemed to be any rest from it

Protective Barriers, online multiplayer
TheSparkPlug replied to Indomitus's question in Suggestions & Feedback
That’s a good idea. -
Let’s keep it simple... just ban everyone with a username beginning with “S” (Yes, you three know who you are!)
-
I would wait to see what the devs think of the idea first, and see if they want to create a sub forum for it maybe.
-
It sounds like a great idea. It may be worth alternating between editor and explore based builds. For the explore based builds the creator cube could be used but, unlike with the editor, the resultant builds would be something that other players could replicate in the normal game.
-
I never play online (except with family), and I wouldn’t judge the state of a community by the number of people wanting to join a server. Don't get me wrong, I believe that people like you and Baz Foobar provide a wonderful service - as do the creators that post their wonderful builds/tutorials here, but I would judge the state of the community solely on the activity going on here. IMHO: One of the biggest threats to that is unnecessary negativity. You’ve raised a perfectly valid topic to discuss, but I cannot help but feel you might have chosen a better title for the thread.

RESOLVED [YLD-9389] groundhog day ...stuck time in MP ?
TheSparkPlug replied to kimbuck's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
I want that ship! -
If you do get this working, can I ask that it either be toggleable, or that you only auto-collect if you have the soil container on you. Filling your inventory with unwanted soil would be even more annoying

RESOLVED [YLD-8976] Trading with Craftsman Potions
TheSparkPlug replied to TheSparkPlug's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
I tried to replicate this with a few traders in my world - in the hope that having it happen just before supplying the logs would be of more use. So far I cannot replicate it... and I did try lots of deals with various combinations of potions. So, lets hope it was automatically fixed (or that previously I was just having a mental moment!) -
Although this is traditionally when we point out all of the issues that have arisen, I would just like to take a moment to thank you all for a few things that never got a mention above... - The map seems to now remember the zoom you leave it on - We are shown the time without having to commit to sleeping (I think that’s new) - We sleep quicker (in single player) - We get out of bed after waking And one other thing I can’t quite put my finger on, but the rendering of lit buildings/ships in the distance seems miles better. I notice it because my base comprises of several buildings/ships spread out, and now looking at my base from afar at night seems almost photographic

Thanks for the tip, but I was more concerned about ‘them’ cluttering this thread with their nonsense (whereas my nonsense is allowed to be here )

You should put this as a separate topic... so we can refer “those” people to it every time they post (Where’s the ‘evil’ emoticon when you need it!)
