How do you place bricks and glass diagonally?

Does anyone know how to place bricks and glass diagnally on a grid and not free placing the blocks by pressing V on keyboard?

DWsgaming The only way to do it is in the editor, since the free placement allows you to collect the objects.

ok I've done a test. There is another way, you can use the free V placement, save it as a blueprint and when you build it again you can not pick it up
