RESOLVED [YLD-25413] Attack command doesn´t work correctly
Adam Snellgrove replied to Azaren's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
It is a bug and we are working on it. We are hoping to fix it for 1.4 (which should be end August/beginning September). -
So it seems we fixed it for 1.4 but there is also currently a workaround. If you publish the maps, it will work.
-
We have tried it on our end and while it works on our QA version, it doesn't work on the live (current) version. We're looking, if this could be an easy fix we could possibly push sooner than 1.4 or not.
-
Yep, I think Houp just wanted to give an alternative solution while we wait for the "real" rope ?
-
I'm sorry you destroyed your house ? We are reworking this system to make it much easier to remove just one block at a time wherever you are (so not having to be in a barrier) and this should help all builders in the future.
-
So we should NOT allow "non-editor" (people, who aren't in the editor?) to blueprint or we should? So the creation of blueprints should be only possible in the editor, not in-gamer via the blueprint camera? Or...I'm not quite catching the meaning I think ?
-
Hi Igor, sorry I didn't get to this sooner. So is this somehow connected to the Teleport feature? Because on our end the teleport works, so there has to be some problem we're not experiencing. What servers are you trying to connect? If we get specific examples, we can try it on our end and try to repro it... Output_logs, when this error message appears, would also help of course ?

Aleš would love to do this and will probably be part of a future update, where we also give rope some use, like securing animals, ships etc. It's on the list, but will probably take some time.

Enable shared access to a game set
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s topic in Editor Suggestions
I'll ask about this ? -
If you dont like your island chain, you have to re-do your settings.
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s topic in Editor Suggestions
It is not possible to generate new Islands while leaving logics and buildings and such (since it is not possible to "replace" Islands on an existing map, but rather make a new map with new Islands). -

Dev Diary #137 - Future Editor Improvements
Adam Snellgrove replied to Adam Snellgrove's topic in Dev Diaries
Not yet but @Rudy.cz is looking into it ? Purely static, when data is imported, it cannot be changed once the game is running. But you can always update it by importing updated spreadsheets again -
Hey there Ylanders! Hope you’re enjoying your Pump-action corn guns and Pineapple grenades, but it has been some time since we told you about some news on the creating part. It might not be flashy, it might not be sexy, but a lot of creators I’m sure will find the improvements coming in update 1.4 quite exciting. So first off this is a huge time saver for a lot of you out there, we have made a function to edit the pivot in a group or weld. So, this means you can always pick, where the center of the weld and group is without making overly difficult changes to your creation. This will be a great help to scripters but also to just creators, who like to make custom assets and want to have the best possible control over them when placing and rotating them. Another neat improvement we’ll be adding is the transformation of Custom Controls into their own game logic, so you can create multiple sets of control and then switch between them on the fly in-game. This means, that you can for example, seamlessly create a cinematic sequence with an animated camera and disable controls or you can even share controls as a composition! Also, we’ll be implementing a new database game logic, which will let you import external spreadsheet data into the game. This will come in handy especially when designing a large-scale RPG for instance or anything similar, that needs a lot of static data. We are also constantly improving visual scripting and aspects connected to it, so for instance we are working on speeding up the search panel to shave off waiting time for creators. We’re also making the terrain tools better with a few tweaks you might enjoy and we’re implementing an Advanced Script profiler, which will help you to identify, which script is especially taxing on the game. And that’s it for now. It does sound like a lot of technical mumbo jumbo, but believe you me, that these improvements will give creators the necessary tools to create ever greater and more impressive games. So until next time, stay classy Ylanders!

RESOLVED [YLD-25420] Fix destroying (any) blocks process...
Adam Snellgrove replied to Jeff Vaughn's question in Suggestions & Feedback
So the map you sent is a VERY old map and according to the logs, you are still running version 0.11 from last year February I believe. We can't really find out from that if what is wrong is because of just unsupported and long eradicated bugs or something, that could be relevant to the live version. @Keranara does this same thing happen to you on the current version of the game? If so, we really would need the map and output_logs from the current version where this is happening... -
It is in the designers backlog as a feature to do when there's time ?

RESOLVED [YLD-25420] Fix destroying (any) blocks process...

When you make a ship, all blocks weld together to make one big entity. This is so when you get shot at with cannons, it takes away from the total HP instead of just the one place, so when you hit your bamboo part, you are actually dealing damage to the whole ship, not just the bamboo part. If you want to get rid of a single block, you have to unweld the ship (which is possible from the helm) and whack it. Also, a Demolition Hammer is only usable in a protective barrier. We are planning though to make this system much more intuitive in the future, so look out ?
