Hey Joshua ? Survival is not available on Mobiles, since it is too demanding. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask ?

Blueprints, updates plus infinite and beyond...
Adam Snellgrove replied to Killer Albino's question in Suggestions & Feedback
1. For creativity we really aim it all at the Editor. Where you can make compositions. And if you put a composition on aap, you can then jump in and possibly make a blueprint. But sharing compositions is fully supported and will not change in the future ? 2. I think I answered this somewhere else, but yeah, we are working on expandable Exploration. 3. Some things (like water improvements, AI features etc.) do get implemented on old maps, but most things do need a restart (like new Random Encounters and others. Unfortunately no plans to change that anytime soon. 4. We are always improving the AI and right now we are working on AI being able to shoot, so other improvements are possible and probable. 5. We are working on having tooltips on every item in Exploration and every script in the Editor, but it is a long process. 6. I don't think this is planned at the moment, but might reappear later. 7. Can't have alcohol in game, but we do have potions ? And I'd love drinkable tea in the game, will ask Devs of possible. 8. We are thinking of a way to glue stuff down, but not a prioritzly at the moment. 9. There are a few in the works ? 10. Ah Sharks, our Nemesis ? Still working on those and they really are problematic, so don't hold your breath yet. 11. Yes, this will be a thing, just have to get around to creating it ? 12. The trouble is, that there is a lot of stuff lying around and it would break a bit by picking up all that stuff. Devs not keen on this feature I'm afraid. Thank you so much for your questions, they are greatly appreciated and for your suggestions ?? Keep them coming. -
Allow repositioning of chat window in UI
Adam Snellgrove replied to Jimin Park's topic in Editor Suggestions
I'll suggest it to the designers, but I think there are a few 'fixed' assets in the UI, that would be problematic to move. -
We are reworking and expanding Exploration for a huge update later this year and this will be addressed as well ?

Out of the box idea of expanding the map.
Adam Snellgrove replied to dragondroptv's question in Suggestions & Feedback
This actually something we are seriously considering ? We are now looking into technical solutions for this ? -
Hey there Ylanders! Put your Exploration hats on, cause we're off on adventures today! We talked in an earlier Dev Diary, that we'll be adding quite a few new Random Encounters, especially in the water, but some of us may ask, how do we find all these exciting locations! Well no need to worry, we are adding the cool new compass into the game. This handy fellow will do, what every compass does and show you, where North, East, West and South is but also if you get close to a Random Encounter, it will show you the right direction to get to it. You can craft a compass at a blacksmith station by combining an iron ingot, a needle and you'll need a hammer of some sort (which is sound advice for many a situation in real life as well). Additionally, we have updated the ship's compass to show Underwater Encounters, so you can find those sunken mysteries when you build yourself a proper ship ? For now, you'll also have the compass on a raft, but we'll be removing this in Update 1.4 to make the ship a bit more valuable and the raft experience a bit more authentic ? The Compass will be available in the Editor as well and we are planning to give it some cool functionality in a future update for Creators to play around with, so something to look forward to. And that's it for today Ylanders, short and sweet ? So until next time, stay classy Ylanders!

We are working on a map usable by Creators in custom games ?

(You can also DM it to Jimin, if you don't want to post it here ?)

Can't change weather locally for zone. Is it possible?
Adam Snellgrove replied to Keranara's topic in Editor Help
I meant as in the logic tile shown earlier (the one under this messsage). But if you get the DLC, you can make the archipilago maps, where it is easier to make the custom weather, since you already have the Ylands at a reasonable distance that we know works. -
The game needs to be unprotected AND have local saves for it to be possible for someone else to open it up in the Editor.

RESOLVED [YLD-24096] Terrain or Entities disappear after quick export to workshop
Adam Snellgrove replied to Jimin Park's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
So this should be fixed in the upcoming update ? -
Probably not yet, but we are going to look into that in the near future.

Hey there Ylanders! Hope you are all doing well and are in good health. Things are getting a little bit back to normal here in the studios and we’re working full on to bring update 1.3 to you as soon as possible ? There are a lot of improvements coming in 1.3 in Exploration, Sandbox mode and Playlands, but we’re also working on some new Editor features. And one of these is added functionality to controlling the AI. You might have seen the video, where the Major General is being chased by a stampede of NPC’s. Well, this was made possible with the new Editor puzzle piece tile called “Move to position”. "Move to position" allows the AI to move to any position specified by the creator. You can set up at what speed and with what behaviour the AI moves. So whilst before you could set up AIs to loiter around or Patrol certain points, now you’ll be able to send them anywhere at whatever speed and with any behaviour towards the player you wish. Another great addition will be the "Attack player" puzzle piece, which allows the AI to attack according to entities. So, for example, you can set up a trigger zone and when a player enters it, the selected AI attacks him while leaving other players alone. Or you can set, that a creature will attack just someone, who pulls a lever, whilst the others can watch while giggling slightly under their breaths ? For the future, we'll also make it possible for a certain group of players all belonging to one team being attacked by certain creatures and AI's so look out for that in a future update. So some really exciting tools to play around with in Update 1.3: Watery Waters and a lot of AI shenanigans to be had ? And that’s all for today, so stay classy, but most importantly stay safe Ylanders.

Can't change weather locally for zone. Is it possible?
Adam Snellgrove replied to Keranara's topic in Editor Help
You'll probably need the Archipelagos unlocked to make the weather effectively, but yes, with the logic tile shown it should be possible, though if you put two too close together, they'll start to overlap and weird stuff will happen (and probably break ?). -
What are you trying to play? Exploration? Playlands? A game in the workshop? Exploration you can play peer to peer, so you start a game, then press escape and enable it for multiplayer and invite your friends. Playlands you just need to all log in there. Wokshop game the same, just choose one and join in. If you have your own game, that you made in Editor, you can export it to the workshop and they play it a though you'd play any other game from the workshop. If you have a specific problem about playing multiplayer, don't hesitate to ask or start a topic about it and we'll try and help you out ?

Well if they're all unbalanced, then...they are balanced in their ubalancness? ? Anyway, I for one really like the Guton Forest and if you're ever worried about balance or any other aspect of the game @Jimin Park, let us know and we can give it a whirl here in the offices and provide feedback ?
-
Compositions you can use on PC only in the Editor, but you can play some of the games on the workshop on mobile too, if they are mobile compatible ?

Every week we'll bring you an Ynterview with a member of our Ylands team. In this week's Ynterview we talk to one of our designers, that is responsible for some of the neat things you see on Social Media, @NaruTheHuman! First off, what do you do here at the Ylands team and what’d you do before you joined? Professional henchman and office mascot! Besides that, I am currently a junior designer. Before I joined, I was just an amateur henchman and since this is my first job, nothing else, really. ? How long have you worked on Ylands? What was the 1st thing you worked on when you joined? I have worked on Ylands for nearly 2 years now, but most of that time I was here just as a part-time tester. I don’t really remember what I did a week ago, so I have honestly no idea what I worked on when I joined. Something in the editor for sure, though. How did you get your nickname Naru? Well, my first cosplay was Naruto, and it just kinda stuck with me. What do you find most exciting on Ylands in general? In one word, Editor. There are so many possibilities and potential, that it allows you to turn any idea of yours into reality, no matter how unrealistic it is. Well, nearly any idea... ? What are you working on right now? I am currently working on some new features for the City Shootout and on one new game that will hopefully appear on the workshop soon. What was the most difficult thing to implement to date? Probably the terrain map generator table, since there was a lot of moving parts and raycasting together, so making it run smoothly was quite a challenge. What do you do in your free time? I like to wander around in nature, even though it mostly just leads to me getting completely lost. I also like playing and creating games, of course, watching movies and cosplaying. There is probably way more, but this should do. Would you rather listen to Adam talk to you about, what he thinks about anime (even though he only ever saw three episodes of One Punch Man and a bit of Pokémon) or go one on one against Kaguya Otsusuki? Why? Definitely one on one against Kaguya! Because odds of me surviving that are still greater than surviving even 2 minutes of listening to Adam. I am probably gonna suffer for this, aren't I... (Editors note: yes he is)

Hey there Ylanders! Your adventures on land are going to get even better with update 1.3 with the new rideable mounts letting you explore Ylands like never before, but there is yet another frontier, that will need proper exploring: The deep blue Sea! With update 1.3 being called Watery Waters we would be amiss not to add a ton of new adventures into the beautiful blue waters of Ylands. For that, you’ll need proper equipment though. That’s why we’ve created some underwater scuba diving gear. There will be three types of air tank: Leather, Iron and Zirconium. Each will hold a different amount of oxygen. You can always refill the tanks when you’re above water, but beware the meter, when you’re below, because you don’t want to be caught out exploring an ancient ruin underwater when your oxygen runs out! And there will be plenty to discover underwater, with loads of new Random Encounters to be featured in update 1.3, that will take you on many an adventure. I don’t want to spoil much, but let the pictures talk for themselves ? There will be plenty more to do with water, but let’s keep something for other Dev Diaries ? So until then, stay classy and stay safe Ylanders!

RESOLVED Tiles do not get copied properly when saved to composition
Adam Snellgrove replied to Jimin Park's topic in Editor Bugs & Technical Issues
Could you send us the map, where the compositions are working correctly and then links to the now broken compositions please? -
Those are all so cool! Will they be made available as compositions too? ?
-
That is amazing ? Really looking good ?
