Well that's precisely the idea. There will only be let's say 8 Ylands, but they will be worth exploring properly, not kust take on look and say "ah, Taiga. On we go". There will be secrets, caves, unique things to find and exploit. You will not want to leave in an hour or two. Thus we think that while the number of Ylands might get smaller, the things to explore will multiply by...a lot. And the size of the islands will also maybe vary more (though that I have to make sure on Monday ?).

??? Thank you all for the great screenshots this week. They really were a hoot. But in the end, we had to pick just one winner: @bojo2736 and her airborne shark! And it is also a great way to commemorate the shark because we won't be seeing him for a while now in-game while he gets a fix-up. But a big thanks to the rest of you that posted screenshots, they were hilarious and it definitely made us feel nostalgic for some of them ? Also lookout tomorrow for the runner-ups, who'll also get a (smaller) prize. And that's all for now so... stay classy Ylanders!

RESOLVED [YLD-18680] Bug: Cannot teleport player or horse
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s topic in Editor Bugs & Technical Issues
It's fixed and will be implemented in next update/hotfix/patch/somethinarather. -
Again we congratulate @bojo2736 for his flying shark, but there were other great screenshots, that deserve recognition. And here they are: The legendary mountain horses bred by @kimbuck A unique take on horse riding. Pictured @RedEagle_P1. but the unforgettable picture was taken by @Fompster_P1 And finally another great screenshot by @Fompster_P1 of his...'special' seagull family ? But thank you all for sending in your screenshots, they really were a great laugh. But now to this week's competition. We are back in very serious territory ? This week we'd like to see your first creations in update 0.14. Be it a house, ship, new beautiful Island or Zoo for all the pretty animals (seagulls not excluded). But it also might be your experiences in Playlands and other fun activities you're up to. So send us your first experiences in 0.14 for a chance to win a pile of Coyns ? And as always you have till Friday 10am to submit your screenshots either here or on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtags #pycs and #Ylandspycs So good luck, happy screenshotting and stay classy Ylanders!

RESOLVED [YLD-18741] Flashing during thunderstorm
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s question in Bugs & Technical Issues
So nope, we do need those logs I'm afraid ? -
RESOLVED [YLD-18741] Flashing during thunderstorm
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Hmmm, interesting ? I'll get it to the buggers. And if you get logs, it would be most helpful, but who knows, maybe they'll replicate it regardless ? -
Not sure they'll be actually able to make it for you, but it is possible to do in the editor. I can have a look at it in the weekend, but I'm not very good in Editor yet, so I might just make a fool out of myself ?
-
I know ? But we are working on the FPS option, it'll just take more time I'm afraid, but it's not forgotten ?
-
So this is actually a bug and will be removed ? It's from an older function...let's just pretend this never happened ? ?
-
I'll ask about it...

And there might be an option of having featured mini-games by creators in Playlands in the future, so definitely keep on making those mini-games ? And even for normal play mini-games will be perfect for mobile players ☺️ So for that crowd definitely will be good to have some mini-games prepared ?

Don't forget to post your recent adventures in 0.14 in the Screenshot contest ? https://ylands.com/community/topic/25480-screenshot-contest-week-5/

Unchecking colliders = still able to bump into my buildings...
Adam Snellgrove replied to RedEagle_P1.'s topic in Editor Bugs & Technical Issues
While in editor, you'll be able to bump into things. Unchecked colliders start working after you export the game. -
So, for now, we have lowered the player requirement from 5 to 3, so it'll be easier to find players to play with ? And we are working on different solutions for the future, so stay tuned.

One of our team members suggested, that it could be possible to make a game logic in editor to reset the server, if someone pulls a specific lever, or eats a pill and then you can make this accessible to the people you want to have access to it. And it would even be possible to set that all players would then be relogged into the game after the reset...

We have also encountered this and are trying to fix it ? -
Misleading info about mobile Ylands
Adam Snellgrove replied to Miguel Preguisa's topic in General Discussion
The mobile version is still a work in progress and we'd like it to have as many features as possible. And the mobile version will be fully supported and will have a bright future ? In future updates we will though try and be more specific about the capabilities of the mobile platform. -
If it is a rented server, then only the owner can restart it. Only possibility I guess is to share your desktop with someone (TeamViewer and such).
-
I sent both suggestions to Aleš and will keep you informed ?

You can switch on 'focus mode' with the C key, which puts you into 1st person mode until you walk somewhere. And as I mentioned here: https://ylands.com/community/topic/25478-scripting-in-standard-explore/?tab=comments#comment-79070 We'll be concentrating on Explore now.

RESOLVED [YLD-15083] Background flashes
Adam Snellgrove replied to CdriXX's question in Bugs & Technical Issues
Not sure what you mean. Could you please get us a video of it? -
Every week we'll bring you an Ynterview with a member of our Ylands team. In this week's Ynterview we have approached the Creative Director himself: Aleš Ulm. First off, what do you do here at the Ylands team and what’d you do before? I am a Creative Director which means I do my best to make sure that the game stays true to a vision and that there’s always a bigger picture. Before that, I worked as a designer on several other projects. How long have you worked on Ylands? What was the 1st thing you worked on? Since the very beginning – fun fact: I programmed the very first prototype (which says a lot about how small and desperate the team was at the very start ?). First thing I did was just a character borrowed from one of our previous games running over some primitive landscape interacting with stuff and some concepts of inventory which couldn’t be further from what we have in the game now. What do you find most exciting on Ylands in general? The fact that we are making both game and tools at the same time (which, is, strangely enough, also the most frustrating thing at times). And what is for you the most exciting feature coming in the near future? What are you looking forward for? We have a lot of immensely cool things planned to be added after 1.0. I like to call it The not yet announced cool feature number 1. What are you working on right now? Right now I’m deciding which gameplay features need to be polished most before 1.0. What do you do in your free time? If there is some, I usually try to relax by watching something like Red Dwarf, Flight of Conchords, Mighty Boosh; doing the “just-one-last-turn-I-promise” Civilization routine or just trying to save the world from some difficult-to-pronounce monster. If you had to fight zombies with candy, what candy would you choose? I think the Smarties from our vending machine that exist concurrently in three different states might scare them away. Well, there you have it. And if you missed our 'bonus question', visit our Facebook page ?
