An awkward message from a longtime fan

Nah, I absolutely understand your concern ? But actually we got new team members specifically for the mobile version (who are mobile experts) so it didn't take any time away from the core team ?

    Back =)

I'll pass your good wishes to @Aleš Ulm, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear ? And with Aleš back at the helm thighs really will change as you'll get the chance to find out in this week's Dev Diary ?

    (New) Dedicated Servers FAQ

Btw @bojo2736, you can now get you servers from Nitrado again ? Not sure if everything is up and running, but it seems so ? https://server.nitrado.net/eng/offers/Ylands

    thoughts about mobile games

We'll look into the bug, thank you for reporting it. As for the sizes in mobile, since mobile is based off of the PC version and you create mobile games on the PC in the Editor, it probably wouldn't work to then have different size in the mobile version, but I'll ask if there are any plans to change up the sizes at all...

An awkward message from a longtime fan

Ylands has evolved from a humble Exploration to something much more. We are primarily a creative platform. As it says on our Store Page: Explore your creativity with Ylands. Build everything and anything you can imagine in Ylands' powerful Editor, then bring your creations alive with the magic of Visual Scripting. Upload your creation to the workshop to show it to the world. Play any of the player creations, on your own or with your friends. BUT We also have a premium Exploration pack that contains our premium mode: Exploration. Exploration is very important for us because it is where we began, we have a superb community that likes Exploration (or at least liked and that is why we want to improve on it) and it is where we implement many things we do for the Editor as well. You'll find out some pretty exciting news about Exploration this coming Dev Diary ? There were the new Underwater Encounters scattered across the sea and a way to explore them (scuba tanks) but I get what you mean. We are looking into "using" the seafloor for more than just exploring and adventures. The menu is now final (for some time at least) and is designed to show off as many Creator created games as possible, which does look a bit...a lot ? But we really wanted Creator games to be as visible as possible. I think the Store Page is pretty specific and that our Social Media and Forum communication also reflects this, but we'll try to be more specific. The Mobile version has not been the reason for any changes to Exploration (since Exploration is not available on Mobiles precisely because we didn't want to compromise Exploration). Aleš will talk about this further this week in the Dev Diary and even more later, but Exploration will expand. Thank you ALL for your feedback, it is very welcome. We hear you, but not for the first time. We know Exploration needs to get much-needed love and we planned for this from the beginning of the year and are now working hard on Exploration to make it great again ?

    Cant Publish and play games.

Is it still happening? Could you please send us output_logs when this happens again? You can find them here \Program Files(86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ylands\Ylands_Data

Ylands, this just feels too much...

This is our goal and we are working towards it. We have finalised the Creator Aspect of the game and gonna have a string of competitions to celebrate it and now it is time to double down on Exploration ?

    Propeller Rental Shop / Repair

The night shots are fantastic and I LOVE the idea of a propeller shop being like a normal thing, like a bicycle shop So cool.

    Update 1.4: Creators Club

And here it is ? Do you like it? We are trying to figure this one out. Spyler also can't login to the Workshop but so far we had no luck figuring out why. And are you login in with your Steam account or a Bohemia account?

    bamboo raft, no compass

We removed it, cause it was a bit unrealistic, that a raft would have a built-in compass ?

    Game browser not working properly

Is this still the case? Seems fine on our end. Could you post a screenshot if this still happens please?

    Chat integration

Is this possible in other games? I will ask about it, cause that would be dope ?
  13. Experimental build is over, since we released the update ? Cross over back to normal build.

Ylands, this just feels too much...

That would be pretty rad ? I'll ask, if that would be possible, though I think that is more the preview of Compositions.

    P1 Servers Not Working Properly

Also didn't we give you 2 high-performance servers for free for 3 months? Those shouldn't run out till October...

    P1 Servers Not Working Properly

Is this still happening? As I told you on Discord, we need logs or at least a specific time and server when and where it happened, so we can dig up, what seems to be the problem. Without that we cannot help. Our QA regulalry visit your maps but so far weren't "lucky" to encounter any of these bugs ?

    Update 1.4: Creators Club

We are working on a special section just for Compositions but for now, you can still browse them in the Editor. We are also working to implement the planned "monetized Blueprints" that Creators will be able to create and sell. That will also be part of the future Workshop.

Dev Diary #124 - Updated Roadmap

Hey there Ylanders! Hope you enjoyed Easter and our Easter themed mini-update, but we’re still working hard on 1.3 and we are still on track to release Watery Water in June! It hasn’t been easy in this climate, but the team has adapted to the current situation well and we are on our way to release one of the best updates yet. But that’s not all, we are already working on update 1.4 too! And (if it’s even possible) it’s even more exciting than Watery Water! I won’t give away too much right now, but from the newly updated Roadmap you can see, that we have some cool features prepared for you guys ? In the next weeks, we’ll be talking predominantly about 1.3 but we’ll throw in some 1.4 hints in also, so look out for those. And until then, stay classy, but most importantly stay safe Ylanders!

Ylands, this just feels too much...

But that's because Coyns are cheaper. But if you compare how much you "get back" for 20 EUR (or 23,54 USD) when you buy Coyns or Robux, with Coyns it is 8.47 USD and with Robux it's 6.59 USD. If you extrapolate that to a 1223 USD (which is roughly what 250,000 Coyns cost), with Roblox you get 342 USD while with Ylands you get 375 USD so you're already 33 USD better off ? (+ Creators Club members get a greater cut of Coyns than Roblox Creators ?) But regardless of the math (and since it is me counting, it could be horribly wrong), this is the best we can do under the circumstances and we always try to be able to make the conditions better in the future rather than worse. The way it is set up now is manageable and self-sufficient for us. BUT that doesn't mean we won't be supporting our Creators in other ways and growing the community. With the series of competitions we are planning to start off very soon we'll be offering substantial monetary prizes to further reward our ingenious creators and lure in even more talent to make Ylands a vibrant community of Creators and Players and soon reaching 250,000 Coyns will be easy peasy lemon squeezy ? We are also planning on making the selling of Blueprints available to Creators in the future, which would secure another source of Coyns income even for those, who are not interested in making whole scripted games, but just want to make a cool ship or a house. And since Exploration will get a total reworking to make it great and fun, blueprints will be in high demand ? So a lot to look forward to ? And if we see the economy isn't working or there are loads of people who aren't able to reach the 250,000 Coyns benchmark even after the influx of players and creators during the competitions, you can be sure we will revisit it, so as many talented people as possible get rewarded ?
  21. Adam Snellgrove

Ylands, this just feels too much...

This, of course, is a test run for the Creator's Commission, but we have analysed the market and made sure we are more generous to our Creators, then any of our competitors. If you, for instance, compare the rates to Roblox, you'll see, that ours aren't bad at all ? But of course in the future, we are still open to change and never do we want these conditions to get worse, only better ? Of course, you also have to take into consideration, how much out of the Coyns sales BI actually gets after cuts from different stores (Steam, Microsoft) and taxes, which impacts severely how much we can give back from this, but it wouldn't be proper to discuss numbers here ?

And what specifically would you like to create in the script @bojo2736? It might have just changed names or something similar...
