    Potion Duration Changes

@IEuphe This post is more about potion duration time, but I agree about the animation. It would be fun to see some other animations for potions. Such as ethereal wings that appear for flight, Melon and berry head potions make your head big and small....perhaps strength potions could make your arms bigger and speed potions could make your thighs bigger also.....although I think the animation suggestion deserves a separate post since it's sort of a different idea...and I'm pretty sure it would require a lot more work on the Ylands team than increasing duration time.

    Potion Duration Changes

Speed potion and craftsman potion definitely needs a duration boost....I'm quite fine with the other potion's durations. I rarely use potions with the exception of craftsman and occasionally health (although I use bandages more often).....although I do enjoy having the different bottle styles as decoration Speed potion is sort of useless to me because of the short duration, and I never use the flight potion because I'd rather be able to use my weapon or hold a torch when I fly too high.
  3. Could this be a glitch that sometimes occurs when connecting to the main cloud server? Just thinking outside the box here. Technically when I got back in the game a few hours later I didn't seem to lose anything.

    Polar Region survival guide.

Yes I have found sometimes with the new expedition outfit and Innuit clothes carrying a torch in the Arctic can actually make you extremely hot LOL......but there's been a few extremely cold nights that it definitely helped.....especially if I was out hunting mutants and was wearing actual armor for protection rather than the warmer clothes.

    Polar Region survival guide.

Food, shelter, warmth, and supplies....some of the basics I always suggest having plenty of supplies in the polar biome and making constant runs for more. A ship with a lot of cargo space is very helpful. Some of the things people forget to bring are things like sticks.....you will need fuel for those fires to keep you warm and cook your food and the polar region is pretty devoid of many living resources like trees and other plant life. In Locust 2 I built an electric stove powered by a windmill so I would not only have a steady source of warmth, but also a cooking station with unlimited fuel. Heaters can help during the extreme cold nights but you have to remain close to them so I suggest 1 close to wear you sleep.....but always keep in mind with heaters and with electric stoves, just like any other heat source.....try not to keep your food close to it unless you plan on cooking it. If you like to decorate with little details such as food on the table, etc just keep it away from the heat sources or they will turn to ash. Wool and leather are your friends in the polar biomes for the various warm clothing they can make. (Don't forget to bring your sewing kit!)The latest additions being Expedition outfit and Innuit clothing.....both very warm but keep in mind they do not offer much protection from attacks. Bear armor offers warmth and a bit more protection from attacks. Zirconium can also be warmer than some of the other hard armors. Plus the best bit of advice I have is ALWAYS have a lit torch ready in one of your hotslots. It is also a great source of personal warmth for when you explore.

    POSSIBLY Weather in Ylands

Wait don't close this post. In most cases you can turn weather effects to none/low/medium/high.......but I would like to see other effects. ...Natural disasters would be cool (but keep them rare Tornadoes, Hurricanes, etc).......one main effect I would LOVE to see is the polar lights.....Aurora Borealis type effects in the arctic regions. I think with the lack of animals and plants in the regions it might be a possibility? Just keeping fingers crossed.....you guys did an amazing job with clouds and sunrises/sunset colors.....as a tetrachromat, I can see the possibility of including these sorts of visual eye candies in the game without being to heavy on memory...but you guys are the experts.

IN DEVELOPMENT Something wrong after updates

Pretty sure they decreased the amount of times random encounters occur so we wouldn't see the same encounters so frequently. I personally like the change. It makes it feel a bit more like real exploration. The personal compass can point you in the direction of random encounters that do exist. I also noticed I could not find the traders but I think maybe they either did away with them because you can now place vendors anywhere with the pigeon post....or they are possibly reworking what the traders carry. I saved a few maps with traders, so if you have any of those older maps with traders I suggest you use them for now. I personally think if they do away with the traders and only give us vendors, they should be allowed to carry the recurring shipments. The shipments truly help make the bigger builds without destroying so much terrain. Just my opinion.

    Question about "bookmarking" certain threads

I think the easiest way is to click activity (between forum guidelines and browse) on the top left, then click then click "my activity streams" directly below it, then click"content I follow"

    Experimental Build for Update 1.6

@UnrulySaint I had a temporary workaround for this.....and if I would have known you were experiencing issues,(feel free to tag me) I would have sent you an old legacy map that had mayor privielges.......but as @ocnoglittle says, they fixed it.
  11. I had fast internet connection at the time. I tested the speed thinking the same thing
  12. BIG PROBLEM.....that isn't descriptive enough? Game does not load because it says there's a big problem and to contact devs? Should I say that?
  13. Restarted my computer and got in exploration for a minute.....but when I left the map.....couldn't get back into exploration. output_log.txt output_log_clean.txt

    Dev Diary #173: CM WHO?

The sonic screwdriver is under the sofa....next to your lost sock.
  15. I like the idea of capes and cloaks, maybe it could add warmth and some other protections/armor ratings?
  16. Look at @Nikki Severin go! Following up on a post from April 2nd! I rarely see CMs do this. She jumped in and looked back at previous issues before she even started the job! That's a good community manager. Pats your back!
  17. Ah yes I understand now. Yes, If you delete the multiplayer you get a blank multiplayer map correct..... Well for me it's easy to differentiate between the multiplayer and single player maps. But maybe the problem is the colors? The light purple is sort of close to the light blue. As a tetrachromat I can easily see the difference....but for people that are red deficient color blind it may be difficult. I don't think it's possible to take away multiplayer maps as an option as it's just something that's included in the game....but there are an even amount of single player map spots as there are multiplayer map spots....so if he just wants to play single player then he can simply avoid the multiplayer spots.....unless he can't differentiate the color differences? If he wants just to see single player only....I think he'd see a lot less options....but maybe it's possible? Another thing I would suggest is making the colors different or making it easier to see the difference between multiplayer and single player maps....such as a square icon versus a circular one on the regional map views. That's something to ask in the next Q and A with Ales....

    Ships and Ladders

I know this has been brought up before on this forum, so I won't make this a long post. Many people would like the ladders on ships to be symmetrical. Currently the only ship that has evenly placed ladders is the steam ship. May I suggest we be allowed to place the ladders where we wish instead of having them just be placed unevenly no matter what we think about the placement? I talk to tons of people that get annoyed at having to use the demo hammer on the ladders for ship blueprints because the ladders just pop up even if they aren't in the blueprint and even if a person is free building...they still want to destroy the ladders on the ship base because they are uneven or they are not where they want them to be. The other part of this conversation is about blueprints. Specifically about ladders in blueprints. Please can we allow ship ladders and rope ladders to be included in the blueprints??? All the other ladders are allowed...just not those. And if we make a blueprint can we have the ladders stay where we want them in the blueprint? With no extra uneven ladders attached to the ship after we deleted them from the composition?
  20. They did that with the trash can at the right of the island.....unless you mean something else??? The only Island map you cannot delete is your original spawn.

    Transport Animals?

Heh now I may try it with some car blueprints. Demo the car.....go to another map rebuild it with the supplies I got from demolishing the car.....if anything that's the fastest way to actually transport your cars to other maps for now.

need help with blueprints and circles.

As Nico says above, be sure you have blocks that are allowed in blueprints. Here's a wiki page with allowed blocks. https://ylands.fandom.com/wiki/Blocks_Allowed_in_Blueprints

It wasn't my idea. I place the blame squarely on @ocnoglittle. She's a genius.
